Impressed - Still

We bought this car on a whim 18 months ago and have been impressed with the handling and fuel efficiency. We now have 50,000+ miles and with the warmer weather(50+) am seeing 45+ mpg which is impressive for the high percentage of highway driving. And while I am a conservative driver when accelerating and braking this car is VERY responsive when needed for merging into high speed traffic. I've also never had a car hug the road as well as this car on sharp curves. Only once did the car not start and had to be towed to the dealer. After replacing a faulty part in the ignition the only other service has been the 10,000 mile oil changes. If we continue to have the same experience for the next 50-70,000 miles we will be most satisfied with this purchase. + We have now turned over 74,000 and are still very happy with the car. Feel very confident about it, still on original tires and not really looking to switch it out. We definitely will be looking for a C-Max or an auto with similar motor and transmission. It is nice to begin seeing other C-Max's on the road though they certainly are not being promoted by the dealers like they deserve.++ 30 months after purchasing this car new we are over 90000 miles and still on the original tires though that will change defintiely before winter. The combined mileage dips in the winter but resumes and continues to improve overall as the odometer increases. Recently discovered a convenient storage pocket on driver's side of the passenger seat; great location for keeping a toll ticket or cell phone handy.

33,000 miles and still love it!

Knock on wood when I am writing this but I STILL LOVE MY C-MAX! I have 2.5 years and 33,000 miles on it. It is peppy and good to go. I get great gas milage despite my lead foot. Only issues have been recalls but those are the same as most cars (software updates and the airbag recalls that everyone has had). The dealer did a good job at getting me in and out for those minor issues. No mechanical issues. Reliable. And did I say it GOES! Not your normal hybrid. Very happy with my car!

YOUR DOING IT WRONG!

Please. The only thing wrong with this car is Microsoft sync. I take no pleasure in saying this but I am afraid that some of you are way better at giving opinions than the measures of central tendencies. Google it. This vehicle is an epic leap forward for Ford (less sync) and sips gas. Post break in it will blast by 47 MPG. Again, learn what "average" means and how to apply the term over time- if you dare. Unfortunately, most are confusing (or don't understand) mean, median, and mode versus vehicle life time average MPG during driver learning curve and vehicle break in. Kinda Fords fault as well I guess.

Update: when it came time to trade in for anewer model (at 109,000 miles) i only wanted another C-Max. 9/13/18. I really love my C-Max! It is comfortable for both me and my 6'3" inch husband. It handles nicely and I get great mpg - usually well over 40mpg in the nice weather and about 35mpg in cold weather. The only things that could stand to be improved is: when I am using the hands-free phone system, my caller hears a lot of engine noise, so it is not easy to have a conversation; when I am braking for a stop, and I hit a bump, the cars skids forward a bit. Also, in my particular model, there was a defect in the transmission, so my transmission was replaced (under warranty) before I hit 60,000 miles. But actually, now that I had that done, I know I can keep my car for at least another 100,000 miles! All in all, this is the best car I've ever owned. I enjoy using the GPS, the sound system is great and there is sufficient room in the back seat for passengers to be comfortable.

A year away from a grand slam

This car exceeds expectations in almost every way. I live in Los Angeles, which presents perfect driving conditions for hybrid owners (the only benefit of LA's traffic). In my last two "trips", I got 42.5 mpg (on a 300 mile trip) and 45 mpg (most current). The handling is fantastic and the car, especially compared to other hybrids, has guts and great handling. The visibility/sight lines, as other reviewers have pointed out, are incredible. Even though I am over 6'3", I still have several inches of head room, the seat is relatively high (car is easy to get in/out of). There plenty of room for three adults in the second row. MyFord Touch is great after a period of acclimation.
