Red CMax Energi

Great overall car with lots of headroom F&R, fantastic utility and cargo carrying (hauled a few dishwashers and other large objects with seats folded down, brakes will last a long time with regen braking. Cons: when new was getting about 25 miles on electric as car and battery aged down to 15.... Ford support OK but not all dealers know how to work on plug in hybrids... Ford fights to replace battery even under warranty....

CMAX Energi 2013 with 302 option: Bought on Labor day weekend with good deal. Very good interior. Leather seats , Nice looking dash board, Plenty of leg room, looks very roomy, gives compact SUV look. Pros : 1. You can control lock/unlock, set your desired temp from Web or Mobile app. You can see where car is parked from Mobile app. You can schedule time to charge. 2. Sends emails or SMS when charge is going to start and expected time to finish. You can configure all kind of alerts. 3. Navigation,Phone, Climate Control & Radio Voice Commands works fine. 4. No issue in setting up Garage opener. 5. Car is much powerful than Prius and handles very well.

After a year part broke back ordered

I have had my CMAX for just about a year and 14K miles. But now it is at the dealership waiting a for a high voltage controller that is backordered with NO estimated time to be available. I have a crummy base model Ford Focus instead of my loaded CMAX. I just hope it goes past 30 days as on the 31st day I will be filing a lemon law claim. The car is great but not if they can't get parts and Ford will not give you something decent for a loaner or call you back. I was finally able to reach someone higher up at Ford and had a Ford Escape for a little over a month. Since getting my car back it has worked fine with the exception of the voice commands using Sync. I don't believe they are connected but pretty much every command even simple ones like "Call Home" result in unknown please repeat. Saying call Jim results in bringing up a list of names the first 2 might be possibilities but bank does not sound like Jim. Gas mileage is OK but driving on the highway or the battery depleted results in a consistent 38 MPG. I like the car but do wish the battery was a little bigger.

Ford customer service is the worst part

On acceleration & deceleration, one can hear & feel a slap in the drivetrain that is unmistakably wrong. Two trips to Ford service & multiple drive train parts R&R'd did not solve. Ford's eventual answer was... "All the Energi's make that noise". Ford's 'MyTouch' , Nav & entertain system, is truly a lesson in anger management with it's delayed / non-responses. Overall, the car's quality & operation is low compared to its sticker price. But woe to you should you need assist from Ford HQ resolving any issues. Their customer service rates a zero and would test any Preacher's patience.

Loving the C/Max Energi

Just purchased the new C/MAX Energi. I wanted the fuel economy, but was concerned whether it would provide the power I wanted. I wasn't disappointed. Nicely appointed, this car drives like a dream. But be careful, no road noise leads you to go a little faster than you think. Had it to 85 on the highway today, thinking I was doing about 60. Seats are extremely comfortable with great lumbar support. Smooth ride, excellent acceleration - but very little storage space for long trips. You can go about 100 miles for the same cost of a gallon of gas, depending on where you live. The only downside - they are hard to find! If are lucky to find one at your dealer, grab it before it's gone.
