minor details
I live in Rochester NY and we average 100 inches of snow per year, with AWD this vehicle preforms great. Only down side so far, no sun visor extension, not even an option, it's an option that should be offered or better yet standard like on the rest of the Chevys. Because of hood design, wipers cannot be place in the up position. This a problem when we expect ice on the windshield, makes it difficult to clean and replace blades.

This suv sucks
I bought my car from Serpentini in Strongsville. I started on line said i’d Get $100 in free accessories... never got them. Asked about them and they are all like huh?? 7000 miles and the front tires go bald... was told that’s my fault ??? Um ok... got 2 new tires as a concession ... I have since replaced the front tires 4 times in 68000 miles ( yea I do drive a lot but sheesh) the dome light went out in about that same 7000 miles as well the rear passenger door handle on the outside occasionally doesn’t work. Took the car in at 38000 miles to get the engine checked out because it ticks.. they said to bad your 2000 miles over warranty ... yep cheap asses ... have had to replace tail lights brake lights and a headlight already.. the knob for the air control won’t turn to get to the air only venting ... the water pump went 2 months ago 650$ later now the radiator is leaking... oh and did I mention the recall on the control arms... They should recall this entire piece of trash.. Chevy you ought to be ashamed of yourself .. I am a single parent working 3 jobs to make ends meet. I bought s new car to avoid repair cost and this has been nothing but s money sucking nightmare. I called gm and they don’t give s crap. I’ve been a loyal Chevy girl for 38 years so much for customers loyalty The dealership has been awful all they cared about was the sale and they fail to stand by the car they sold me... About ready to hire an attorney because this just is not right at all I haven’t even had the car a year and a half .

RUN!!!!!! ZERO STARS
I purchased my 2017 Chevy Trax on 4/26/2017 at Tim Lally in Warrensville Heights, OH. Within the first 24 hours of having the car my touchscreen froze and I wasnt able to bring it back into the dealership because I was out of town due to having surgery. I tried everything and even called the salesman that sold me my car and nothing worked to fix the touchscreen. The next day it would still freeze but not as much. I brought it into the dealership to get repaired. Within 2 month of having the car my driver side lock button wouldn't lock my car doors. I brought the car in again to get repaired which I was given a rental. When I picked up my car it was making weird noises and acting weird when I sat in my car. A service guy took the car for a ride around the block and the noises began to go away. I took my car in to get its second oil change which was around April/May 2018 and I was given a check sheet after was oil change and there was check marks stating my front brakes need immediate attention. I called the dealership regarding the check sheet and was told the service person made a mistake. My car is only a year old and less then 12,000 miles so I shouldn't be experiencing any issues. I began to heard a weird sticking like noise coming from my brakes whenever I press my brakes to stop no matter what kind of street or MPH. I was told the noise should eventually go away and if it proceeds come back in. I am still having the issue with my brakes. I have to travel alot now and I fear for my safety along with anyone else around or in my vehicle because I do not know what may happen next to this car. I brought my car in to get service and was told the brakes are going to make weird noises due to how the brakes were made. I told them I didn't buy the car that way so I am not why I have to keep it with all the issues I been having. The touchscreen also started to freeze again. There was a black plastic sitting on my back floor and I have no idea where its suppose to go. The black rubber on the roof of the vehicle is coming off. The car also make a clicking noise when I turn on the AC. You get what you pay for and I no longer wanted the vehicle. I went into the dealership where I purchased my car and told them of the issue and I was told I would have to put down $5000 or more in order to purchase another vehicle. I was even offer a smaller vehicle then what I currently have right now. I even offered to pay $1000 which I shouldn't have to pay anything. I left the dealership in tears because I no longer want my vehicle. My safety should be a #1 concern. I am now reaching out to GM for assistance because my vehicle is not declared as a Lemon and I am at the point of getting a lawyer and reaching out to the BBB. I wanted to give GM a chance to help. I went into the dealership on multiple occasion and left with no solution because no one was able to speak to me. Also no upper management has reached out to me from Tim Lally or GM. I am disappointed in the vehicle and service. The only thing I liked about the vehicle was the inside stitching and the back seats fold behind the front seats. I was even going to purchase a used equinox that only had 30,000 miles on it and the ABS light was on and they didnt know what was wrong with the vehicle. I will never buy another chevy.

Cheaper Honda LX SUV
If poky acceleration is ok, this car will delight with handling & hiway drives. On I-5 for 2 hours , it was fine both uphill & down in traffic at high speed. The rebates brought my cost down the mid teen level, and it has AWD as well. Manueverability is terrific, and parking in city is easy. Apple carplay and backup camera are both excellent. Seating is adequate, not plush, an area for improvement. Cold weather start & comfort is good. Haven't tested AWD yet. Ive owned car for 7 months with low mileage experience; 34 miles r/t total 2-3 times per week plus local driving. Small trunk but fine for groceries or suitcase...with rear seat down can accept bike. I'm satisfied with my purchase. Would love to have added heated seat, more seat support, heated side mirrors, cruise control. FYI, I drive this pokey vehicle in a spirited way... employing its manueverabilty more than the acceleration...and I'm sure the mileage could be much better.

Happy SUV owners
Update: Since we last reviewed our Chevy Trax we have nothing negative to say about it. In fact it lived up to everything we hoped for. It performed extremely well last winter, and made us feel comfortable recommending one to a close family member. They purchased theirs a few months ago and they are very happy with theirs also. Who ever thought at our age that we would become such happy SUV owners. Not only is it roomy enough for us, but for our grandchildren as well. It may not be the biggest SUV available, but it certainly is a wonderful vehicle to own. We feel so safe and comfortable in it. Not only does it offer wonderful technology, such as GPS, Traction Control, a M gear for hard road conditions, and fuel economy, but it handles so well turning and steering. Having a backup camera, drivers and passenger front and side airbags, controls for making and receiving calls on the steering wheel, 2 USB ports, and 6 cup holders are also very much appreciated. It also has plenty of head room and leg room for the driver and all the passengers in the front and back.
