Nice tight vehicle
Have enjoyed owning the Trailblazer so far, handles well, and has alot of power.
Great Car!
I love my TrailBlazer! I upgraded from a 2000 Grand Am which was falling apart. I bought it with 50,000 miles on it and I have no problems with it. We got a really good deal on it because it has some hail damage but I can deal with that because it pretty much paid for itself! As for gas I was only getting 26mpg with my Grand AM out of town and I'm getting 24-25 with my TrailerBlazer so I can't complain.

GM is horrible
General Motors=Generally sucks your money= "money pit" I have never been so disappointed in a vehicle. I am only stuck with this vehicle because it has sucked so much of my money. But it is truly junk on the inside. They truly sacrificed quality, and did a "slap-stick" job on the inside...and the cylinders might as well have been made with plastic.. my TB is an 2005 73k miles...highway miles..well maintained..and i am already having to shell out money for prices similar to buying a new engine for a "new car"because GM admittedly made the cylinders with poor quality metal material..but would gladly provide a new set for extra $$$...stay clear of this crummy investment of transportation
Good but not perfect
Overall this has been a good reliable vehicle but we have has some issues along the way. The transmission dipstick rotted off near the handle (replaced under warranty) and the alternator pulley was squealing within the first year of ownership. We purchased new, but these just seem to be poor quality issues. More recently the trim at the top of the hatch froze in place (winter ice) and bent upward - nearly breaking the glass. The cheap plastic trim held up though it bent the metal brackets; this is an obvious design flaw. Half the radio lights are out and it's $800 to replace it. Fuel economy is ok for a big SUV(about 15mpg) and we took 4 kids to FL from MA in relative comfort last year.
For the Money, Best SUV on the Road
We've put over 134,000 miles and this baby still sounds brand new. Engine so quiet, I can't hear it idle at red lights. I only use Mobile 1 synthetic oil. Only two problems since ownership, fuel gauge and ignition switch. Warranty covered them. This is the only vehicle my wife drives. We have two Volvo s80s that's collecting dust in the garage. I'll probably have to sell them. Suv only requires maintenance every 50,000 miles besides oil change. One more thing, this suv is great on the road. The only suv we'll ever own. We love our trailblazer. For longevity, only use synthetic oils and lubricants. With my Continental tires, I get 18 city and 22 highway.
Hate my TrailBlazer
I have always been a Chevy person, but this will be my last one. Bought this SUV new and have had problems with it. At 9,000 miles a rear door started rusting on the inside. I am on my third set of hatch shocks. First time they went bad I almost got my arm caught in hatch. Fan belt squeals every morning and I get 12 miles per gallon. Really dissapointed with this vehicle. It only has 13,000 miles on it. GM quality is a major issue.
horrible car
after so many problems, now the headlights do not work. I had try to fix them, change lights change everthing and still no lights. I need to drive at night I am a sales insurange agent, and there are no lights. Nowhere to call nowhere to find what I can do. Do not buy any chevrolet. [non-permissible content removed]..... I will never buy another one.

Trail Blazer
Very powerful engine for a V-6, sleek exterior, very roomy interior, great suspension, feels like you are riding on glass.
Early but happy
Only 3 weeks into my new LS but all indications are excellent. Love the ride despite some reviews of mushy cornering. I don't take corners at 75 mph so its fine by me. Interior is just fine, easy to use and reach controls, simple and straight forward. Looks great on the road with planty of power. Hard to pass up with the GM family discount and rebate for just over 24k OTD. Overall I am very happy with it, so far.
Nice, family SUV
I'm not much into power of the vehicle and all of that. I will say this is my 2nd TrailBlazer. The 2nd one I upgraded to the third row, DVD player, and leather seating. Very comfortable, smooth riding SUV.
One good SUV
We only had our Trailblazer for about a month but it is one of the best SUVs we have owned (Jeep, Montero, Trooper)!!! It has a smooth ride any plenty of power to cross the passes in Colorado. It handles well in the snow
Great buy
I have the 2005 LT 4x4 regular wheelbase with the amazing 4.2L 291hp six. This car is underated by many consumer magazines. This is still the most powerful 6 cylinder SUV you can get. V8 power, 6 cylinder fuel efficiency. I pulled a 5500 pound trailer last month about 400 miles, and the Trailblazer took it with ease. It can also pull my two ATVs to the camp and back through moderate off road conditions with no problem, thanks to the automatic four wheel drive. After 11,000 miles, I find that my highway mileage is around 23, city mileage is as low as 17. Seats are comfortable, and the new updated interior has better trim materials than before, but it is still a little odd looking.
2nd TrailBlazers in 3 years
I do lots of driving. My first T- Blazer (2002) racked up 80K in 2 yrs with only reg. maint. I then purch'd an '04. Already has 30K. Excellent ride, ft seats could be better, rears are best in class. No road noise at all. Steers, brakes, corners excellent. Lots of compartments- including sunglasses!! My '02 had an aux pwr outlet in the rear and a glovebox light. My '04 does not. C'mon GM, how much did that really save? Headliner won't stay up. Gas mileage could be better, but it is a truck w/280 HP. 14-16 hard city driving, and 18-22 @ 75 MPH. Not that bad, but I am sure all trucks could be better. Bose radio is a must. Excellent agressive styling. Well laid out interior. Great to tow/haul.
Great for towing, bad for driving
Leased it to tow my boat, great for towing, tons of power. Don't believe what sticker says about gas mileage, they like to pad the numbers. If I would have known I was gonna get 11 mpg I would have leased something different. Love to change my own oil, but for the life of me why would they bury the oil filter so you can't get at it, and I'm a mechanic. All that aside it's not a bad SUV, if they built an SUV that got 40 mpg everyone would buy it.
THIS CAR IS A NIGHTMARE
I have had this truck less than 5 years and I have already needed a new transmission, a new throttle unit and a gas pump unit. I have spent over 8,000 on this car all happened after warranty naturally. Mechanic tells me this is a VERY common issue with trailblazers and all parts are always on shelf because of this common need for these particular parts but chevy won't recall them. I'm junking it and still have 10K to pay unbelievable so much for American made cars.....never again Chevy (GM) is uncooperative and taking peoples money!
could be better
at 62000 miles the transmission has developed. that has me worried, after having a Ford Taurus and a Dodge Caravan both developed leaks and major problems at around 65000 miles. so you see it seems to be an American car company problem not just Chevy. gas mileage is extreme. around 20 highway and 13 city in two wheel drive. lock in 4-wheel drive and it drops to 10 or less. my v-8 ford pickup does better by far.
Great 4x4
We got our '05 Trailblazer LS 4x4 in Dec '05 and we love it. So much room, and power. A week after we got it we went from OH to CT, 740 miles one way, and averaged 21 mpg the whole trip and it did great in the snow.
Get a Gold one!
I love my Trailblazer! I have driven Tahoe's for the last 9 years, and the Trailblazer compares nicely. The ride is smooth - and as with most SUV's the gas mileage could be better. The console is a bit small - especially if you carry "drinkers". The middle cup holder is the only one that is practical. The rear seats fold down with ease - and the cargo space is great! This is a great vehicle!
good buy
I love this car. Traded in a 1997 4runner. The Trailblazer rides better, handles better, and has more power than the new Explorer and 4runner. I highly recommend the LT package. The automatic climate control is awesome. The locking rear differential is a good deal for only $300 dollars extra.
very good
fun to drive ,very powerfull, ok handling ,not a very good fuel efigency
Take my word, don't purchase
Nothing but trouble out of my trailblazer. Like the looks, but that's about it. Only has 32,000 miles and I'm having misfires in cylinders. Dealership can't figure out what's wrong. Want to charge me thousands of dollars to test different "theories". Hatch shocks are also already out. Plus there was a whinning in the motor, come to find out the tensioner pulley was going out. Going to get rid of the suv, before it completely goes out.
2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer
Awesome detail on this new Trailblazer - inside and out. Several new bow ties in the design - all tastefully done in the new gold. Added chrome touches to the interior add a touch of class. The new gear shift is easier to use and looks great too. Smoother ride with larger tires this year - seating comfort is great with leg support for the driver all the way to the back of the knee.
2005 Trailblazer - Impressed!
The Trailblazer is a must have in a mid size SUV. The value is unbeatable. The V6 engine is best in class and really is quite impressive. It blows away the competition.
luvin my trailblazer
WE PURCHASED OUR TRAILBLAZER IN NOVEMBER,04. WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ASTRO VANS FOR THE LAST 15 YEARS. WE LOVE THE LOOKS AND THE RIDE THIS VEHICLE GIVES YOU. SO FAR ITS BEEN GREAT,
good quality with minor improvments
what a good all around vehicle! i am glad i purchased my trailblazer, great engine and looks, it lacks some qualities like the flimsy tailgate handle and keyless entry, but what a good ride i would recommend it to anyone
'04 Trailblazer
Great in snow. Automatic 4WD kicks in just when needed and makes it very easy to drive in bad weather. Very smooth ride on all terrain. Rear audio and climate controls are helpful with rear passengers.
funfunfun
I purchased the LT model in June of 2004 and am very happy with the way this vehicle drives, very smooth and great vision of the road. Strong engine.Anyone interested in the video entertainment option should really shop around. the dealer wanted 1800 or so for a base setup and I purchased a nice sharp set up installed for 1000.
Very pleased in san diego
I bought my Trailblazer on Jan 1, 2004. I drive it extensively, and haul a 23 foot boat with it. The only complaint I have to date is when approaching a stop while going downhill, when I brake it seems to skip, maybe even a tiny bounce to it. Turns on a dime, normally (other than what was already mentioned) brakes well, corners well, although does feel a touch top heavy. Mileage could be better, averaging in the 17 mpg range. Honestly, really enjoy it. Never had any car that was perfect, but this one I enjoy driving. Would recommend it.
Trailblazer review
My wife and I have owned our trailblazer since 2005. We purchased the vehicle with only 20,000 miles on it. IT now has 100,000. We have never had any major problems with our T blaze, other than replacing the battery, thermostat, and the idler pulley. I do all the maintenance on the vehicle. We live in a rural area approximately 20 miles to the nearest city so we do alot of driving and traveling. The vehicle handles very well and pulls great to be a six cylinder under a load. In all a very nice suv would recommend to any one looking to purchase a suv.
I love my Chevy Trailbalzer
I really like the way my Trailblazer rides and it has handled very well on the snow and ice we have had this year. It is really roomy. I don't think I could ever go back and own a car again...
GM gets it Right
I have owned 16 SUV's in the last 10 years and The Trailblazer is a great vehicle. GM did a great Job when they redisigned the Blazer.
owner
this is very good auto. i have owned lots of chev. blazers 1995 mod. still have has 270000 mi. on it. with no mgr, prob. , ecept trans. blake tapscott hartselle al. 302 sobotka st
No more mini vans
This is my first SUV and I love it! I will never go back to minivans! I love the power and the handling and even haul my horses with ease.
More than I expected
The Trail Blazer has turned out to be a more enjoyable vehicle than I expected. Comfort and handling have been excellent. Averaging 18.1 miles per gallon has been another unexpected pleasure. Seats are comfortable for short and long trips. Stereo is more than adequate, clear with virtually no distortion with CD's. Controls are easy to operate and somewhat intuitive. I enjoy the ride.
Excellent vehicle
This is a great SUV for the money. It's the perfect size for our family.
Wih high gas prices, these are cheap!
Have had this vehicle for about a month. I traded in my 10 year old Sunfire, and yes I miss the gas mileage, but it's OK. So far it has been great, we've put roughly 1000 miles on it trouble free. We did buy an extended service contract for the length of the loan, other reviews have been subpar, so we didn't want to chance it. With gas prices so high we paid $13K, and it had a window sticker of $36K. We bought it planning to only keep it around for 3 years or so, but we might go long term. Personally, I wish we would have bought the 3rd row V8, gas mileage isn't that much worse. We just couldn't find one low mileage with an LT option package.
Decent purchase
I received my trailblazer in 2006 with 12000 miles on it. We live in Florida and have traveled to TN drove in the mountains for a week, the truck handles lots of terrain. I now have 60,000 miles on it and other than a few hiccups I am very happy. I love the comfort with two children, getting in and out is a breeze. Lots of room, and smooth ride. Overall I liked it so much we just purchased our second trailblazer.
Would buy again
This is our first SUV and it has been wonderful. I would probably buy the 7 passenger now but at the time it wasn't an issue. There is a 12" height difference between my hubby and myself, we are both pretty particular about how a vehicle fits us, and we both fit comfortably. This vehicle has been very dependable, has plenty of towing capability, and lots of space for our cross country vacations with the family. We make sure the maintenance is taken care of routinely and have never had any issues with it. MPG is 16-17 city and 20-22 hwy and that's loaded down. It handles great in the snow and I feel very safe driving around my little ones.
SOLID S.U.V
one thing i do know it is better than a ford explorer. smooth ride and build quality is good. im very happy with my purchase. i got the ls 4wd loaded up.
Get a new truck!!
It's a reliable truck, howver it's horrible on gas. It is a great design by GM, however it i too big of a truck for the V-6 engine. It's very comfortable.
GAS Gauge & electrical issues
on my 2nd fuel gauge replacement issue. Something failing in the gas tank saying Low Fuel (Always). I can't afford to replace it again @ $500 in 4 years of ownership, so using the "fuel used" meter to tell me when to fill. This has worked very well. Buttons on the radio & console wear very quickly & fuses fail continually so you just deal with it. A great deal of maintanence. When will there be a recall on the Fuel Gauge issue?
TRAILBLAZER- PROS & CONS
LIKE IT VERY MUCH. NEEDED LEG ROOM AND LIKE RIDING UP HIGH VERY MUCH.NO KIDS,JUST WIFE. PLENTY OF ROOM.EASY TO GET IN AND OUT OF. ALL FEATURES I WANTED IN A MID- SIZE SUV.
very surprised
first rented this vehicle by accident, was supposed to get another model. after a trip a thousand miles away, this vehicle was comfortable, roomy and very smooth riding, I told my husband that when i got ready to purchase another vehicle that a Chevy trailblazer was going to be that vehicle. 3 months later I am the proud owner of a Chevy trailbalzer and I love it!
Great SUV, Poor MPG
I have had my Trailblazer for over 4 years now and finally paid it off. Its a great SUV that is comfortable, sturdy, and great offroad and on the highway. The extended version is nice and provides 8 feet by 4 feet of room (when front seats are pushed forward) for gear or even a sheet of plywood. the seats in the middle are comfortable but a little cramped for anyone over 6 feet tall. The seats in back are great for kids but not adults. Overall the SUV runs great (only had a speedometer issued covered under warranty) and never any other issues. Sometimes the wind noise coming over the mirrors is a little annoying though.
Nice SUV
I've had my TB for 10 months and I've driven it in city, highway, and on 4WD trails. I've also slept in it for a couple of nights while elk hunting. This is a good all around vehicle especially for the money. It is big enough to be fairly comfortable sleeping in the back with the seats down when you need it. The only down side is that HWY mileage at interstate speeds (75MPH) is only around 17 1/2 to 18 MPG (rated at 21 mpg) although I do have a slightly higher rear end gear so others may do better. Driving in town yields around 13-14 mpg.
wow, i love it!
i think chevy finally has a winner. i didn't like price at first, but the more i drive this vehicle the more i love it. big, lots of power, it will get up and go when you need it. long trips are great. when you get there, feels like you haven't been anywhere. looks very good. the inside could use some work, but it will do. i have received nothing but compliments on the vehicle from people who ride in it. i love my trailblazer!
Dads Big Boy toy
this is not my first trail blazer, since i retired from GM, blazers are all i buy. and i would not even think about buying another type of suv. and i am very satifyed in their product.
05 Trailblazer EXT
Cheaper alternative to imports and even GMC siblings. Dull power off the line, but gets going in mid tach range. Great discounts can be found as well. This vehicle rates high if you can pick up a loaded one for less than $26K.
TrailBlazer
Front seats not as comfortable as should be; seem to lean in to the center with lack of support. Drives and rides great its just the fuel economy is just not what it should be. 16mph on average is not good when the mini van was about 25mph.
Love this car
I had a 2003 Trailblazer and I was NOT fully satisfied with that model. When looking for this new car I went for the loaded version. I LOVE IT. Drives great, very comfortable. Fuel economy leave a little to be desired, but that's all SUV's
