The dashboard lights started flickering, the speedometer and rpm needles started flying all over the place and then my dashboard stopped working altogether! I don’t know how much gas I have in the car. I don’t know how fast I’m going. I would not recommend you spend your money on this car. There are complaints all over the web with others having the same issues. Ugh. My hard earned money I saved to get a nice car is now down the drain.

So far, we have owned the car for one week with one extended trip. MPG is what we expected, but when driving in the 55 mph zones, the mpg exceeds the EPA mileage. The quiet ride, smoothness, and overall comfort are quite impressive.

I swore I would never drive a car again after owning SUV's, but I'm eating crow! Tired of getting 12 mpg with my 08 Chrysler Aspen and pouring money into fixing it, I traded for my Malibu and glad I did! 32 mpg highway and 28 city...not sure why I didn't do it sooner. Love the the design inside and out and get all kinds of compliments on its looks.

Drove a 2013 Eco trim for 9 years before purchasing my beloved Tacoma. The ride is nice and smooth, handling is very good. Acceleration was decent, more than enough to merge on freeways. Reliability was not great. I only put 62,000 miles on mine and had to have the entire electronics replaced in the dash, plus two pistons. This car is not exceptionally well made, but still can be had for a good price used. Amazingly, the battery in the trunk never needed changing and performed flawlessly at traffic stops powering the car and saving gas.

Edmunds was not all positive about the 2013 Malibu, but we looked at and drove all the other brands and Malibu comfort and quality outshine them all. The only other one close is Fusion. We love our car and hope anyone in the market takes a close look at this car that is an American car, and has a high [HTML removed] rating.

After owning this car for three years I think it is safe to say that the only way this car is going down is the transmission which is a common problem with Malibu. That being said it hasn't given me any problems that put me under duress this car has a nice ride Chevy is getting better and catching up to the foreign brands. Plus my engine was made in a local factory 10-15 miles from me so I know the engine is solid. Now onto the acceleration of this 4 cylinder beast this car is smooth riding for the most part maybe a few bucks here and there but overall not too bad. The other day I was speeding and didn't even notice the tires for this car are okay there is a discount website I go to for tires because the 17 inch Rim diameter. I then get them thrown on at wally-works I just threw a pair of tires on the front yesterday tires cost me $100 a piece and the install cost me so if you know where to look you can find decent tires pretty cheap. Because hey tires are like shoes for a car $56 and some change that was for a tire replacement repack of the valve stems and lifetime rotation.

More Bells & Whistles than my ol Caddy Seville STS

*Malibu Eco Premium Audio 4dr Sedan with both Leather Package and Navigation Package. Bought the car certified used with 28,000 miles on it. The interior looks and feels luxurious. It also has all the right bells and whistles to keep my 14 year old daughter happy (as the car is its own hot spot). Lots of little storage areas: glove compartment, center console, behind touchscreen monitor and in dash. Also pockets build in on doors and along center console. More than enough personal space and comfort for driver and passenger. As long as you don't need seats all the way back (for like someone 7 ft), there is plenty of leg room in rear. The interior illumination is well done and kinda sexy which blends well with the leather & wood accents. There is no noise from car or the outside world. But open the moon roof and let that summer sunshine in while blasting the tunes from the Pioneer audio system. (actually I prefer Bose) Houses plenty of ports for your devices. The gas mileage fluctuates based upon your driving habits, but in line with the mpg estimates....As for power, it reminds you its a 4 cylinder from 35-65 mph, but feels smooth and powerful as you just went from 65-85 w/o noticing. What I DO NOT LIKE is the fact there is NO Spare tire, just a pump/repair device in trunk. Speaking of trunk, Note: you lose a bit of space with the ECO trim because of the battery.... So far I am loving the experience. The car has real appeal inside and out while being gentle on your wallet.

**2013** Chevy Malibu

Mike, 03/04/2021

I don't know about the 2021 Malibu; I can tell you about the 2013 2LT model. Unless Chevy execs have totally undermined this car to move people into more expensive (unnecessary) SUVs, then potential buyers of this car will love it. For 2013, it was built on a Cadillac chassis, bringing a smooth ride, as smooth today as it was 8 years ago. The interior THEN used very good, soft materials, and the 2013 model featured extra windshield and door soundproofing, adding to the quietness within the cabin. Gas mileage never reached advertised MPGs, but that is really my only complaint. If the 2021 model comes anywhere close to the 2013 model, this car is a steal at an even higher price.

I got this car at 36K had to throw new tires on that cost about 700. The car was okay not the most reliable car i have driven but decent the car was a 2.5 litre and didn't give me alot pf problems until out of warranty. The warranty was at 60K transmission was going out on me had to change solenoids right before getting rid of car at 80K did a bunch of work to it also oil changes were expensive for 5 quarts of oil i always ran synthetic in it and after 60K miles i spent alot of money regular oil changes since buying i had them every 3-6K. I had my alternator about to go when i traded this car in the engine could be felt through the steering wheel solenoids were about 3 or 400 to replace replaced oil and filter at 79166 miles and the car felt like it was going to break down so instead of having it re inspected in april i traded it towards another car new battery installed on 11/29/19 back pads and rotors replaced at 74K front pads and rotors replaced at 75,500 miles with all that said my family was angry at me for getting rid of my car but my mom and my sister in law were like yeah it was time for that vehicle to go so my new mantra is when something major is about to go like a alternator or something that is big like the electrical system started cutting out on me when i was driving it is time for another car don't get me started about winter driving these cars suck balls in snow lol i always had to burn out in this car to get going down the road with all season tires with that being said it was an okay car but just the build qualty on the parts was sub par

Bought this car with 48k miles and now has 78k. Since I've had it I've replaced a wheel bearing, the heat is climate control and when you turn it on 60 it feels like it's on the highest setting and the only way to turn it down it to turn the ac on. Not fun when it's 15-20 degrees outside in the winter and 85-90 in the summer. The radio will freeze from time to time. Won't let me turn it down, change the station, or even turn it off! I'm constantly on the road mostly highway miles and only get 28-29 mpg. Being that it's supposed to be a type of hybrid I'm not very impressed. This is my first and last time owning a Chevy sedan.

I traded in my 2006 Jeep Laredo for a 2013 Malibu. I was skeptical in the beginning as I'd never owned a Chevy and hadn't owned a sedan since my Honda Accord over 15 years ago. I was seeking something that was fuel efficient (better than my Jeep, which was horrible), that looked good, durable, and didn't hurt my pocketbook. As a teacher and single mom with two kids remaining in my budget is essential. This car does it for me. I love the look, the smooth ride, and my monthly payment. My kids love it as well! Even though I've only had my new car for three days, I can already see that I will be saving on gas. Oh and love the automatic start button!

I was so excited to purchase my new Malibu. The style is sleek, elegant, and sporty all in one. The MPG is right around 27 for me personally. My biggest problem is the comfort. I didn't notice it until two days later when my back was in so much pain. The head rest forces your head forward and they are not completely removable. The lumbar section of the seat is not positioned correctly and is rather stiff. I have tried different pillows, reclining the seat completely back and sitting up free style (which is super uncomfortable). I've spoken with 2 customer services reps from GM who passed it back and forth only to pass it on to the dealership which in return said there was nothing they could

I really love this car. I bought the 1LS model and it rides wonderfully, looks sporty. Maybe this vehicle is a little more expensive than competitors, but this is a classic American auto. I bought a 2013 Toyota Corolla and I had serious steering problems so I changed it for this new 2013 Malibu. The Malibu has a great smooth ride and that the interior is comfortable and excellent design. The car gets mpg just like it says, 37mpg open road and 31mpg in town. Not many cars will get that good right out of the gate. In my experience, I went to Alabama driving around 58 mph average and the car did 52mpg!

I’ve had this car for 10 years. It’s had some small problems over the years. Cam timing solenoid, oil pressure solenoid,2 bad abs sensor rings that are in the wheel bearings. Some rear and parking brake issues. So nothing too crazy. It’s been very comfortable, adequately fast, good handling, quiet and solid. The best - it is UAW made in the USA. Hopefully it keeps going strong.

This turbo 4 cylinder machine, yes this is a machine. The pickup and speed is just baffling? What a pleasure to drive .This is actually a LT3. Not much difference from the LTZ. I have this car 10 years now and have No complaints. Good gas mileage, getting 29 miles a gallon highway and 20 city. . Not much city driving though. It's crystal red in color and had plenty of conversations with people about this car. What's nice is my wife likes to drive it and that's a plus. Believe me, she likes to roll like I do. Great sound system and comfort. In my 50 some years driving I can honestly say this is the best driver I ever owned. I park this in the garage with my 2010 Camaro and my 2001 Blazer. Just a happy Papa with my Chevrolets.

Trunk is Junk

We bought our 2013 Chevy Malibu new. Just about two weeks after purchasing our car, I was driving down the road and cars were honking at me. So, I pulled over and found that the Trunk was Open. I thought to myself, that I probably forgot to shut it. This Trunk is Junk, I would find it open many times sitting in my driveway, driving down the road, my neighbors would even call and let me know my trunk was open. We took it to the dealership were we bought it, and they fixed it. Not long ago, I was out shopping for groceries and used the Trunk is Junk, big mistake! Later the next day my husband attempted to open the Trunk is Junk and it would not open, not by using the Key Fob nor the Trunk Button. I called the dealership and was told he just didn't have time as it was getting late in the day, and ask me to call back the next day. Later that evening I decided to see if I could open it in an odd way. LOL I got in the car and turned on the dome lights so I could see, then pulled down my back seats and started taking things out of the trunk and sliding them toward me, I crawled into the trunk and used the safety latch! Wah Lah! My Trunk the Junk Popped Open! I then put everything back in place and locked up the car. I told my husband I would be using my trunk in this same manner while out in public and he could video the episode and we could put it on the WWW. LOL. The dealership is awful. And I contacted Chevy, to no avail, so I think a video will go viral. I will never purchased a new or used Chevy Vehicle again in my life. We paid so much for this car just before my husband retired because we wanted a new car, I should have kept my little Ford Escort with 73,000 miles on it. I bought it new too. Trunk the Junk!

I traded my 2010 Malibu LTZ for the 2013 ECO, and was expecting better fuel economy. While the upgraded interior and quality of materials are vastly improved, I can't understand why Chevy put in an inferior Pioneer stereo. I listen to the stereo every time I get in the car, and admittedly pretty loud with the windows down. The Pioneer has really bad distorcion cranked all the way up and I never had that problem in my 2010 LTZ.
