Used 2005 Chevrolet Corvette Consumer Reviews
We love our new Vette
One test drive is all it took to fall for this car. It is a major head turner where ever we go. Driving cross country at 80 mph we even got excellent mileage (26.3 mpg). The overall refinement of the car is also quite astounding. Heads up display, navigation system, Bose sound system, heated seats, leather interior...the list goes on and on. The engine makes 400 horsepower and with traction control, you can accelerate hard on an onramp but since the tires don't squeal you don't attract undue attention. The Active Handling is also unbelievable. You can enter a turn at double the posted speed and even in the rain the car won't spin.
Porsche Fanatic Converted!
I've owned several Porsches and always respected the power of Corvettes but thought their handling left something to be desired. Those days are gone. This car out-accelerates, out-handles, out-brakes, and out-looks any of the Porsches I've owned. The engine has the sound of a jet whine combined with that ripping canvas Ferrari growl. Its intoxicating. I got the Z51 suspension with a 6 speed and leaving it in 3rd on a Mt. road lets repeatedly hear the V8 burble which you can feel in your stomach. With the Z51 there is no body lean and it feels like a slot car around corners. The car really doesn't have a weak spot. Best sports car buy this century, it's like getting a Ferrari for $50k.

Vette Number 12
This is Vette # 12 for me. Chevrolet has outdone themselves this time. I sold a Z06 before purchasing this one and there is no comparison. Best ride of any Vette I've owned and quiet. Super performance. The wife loves it and it draws a crowd everwhere you stop.
2005 Corvette w/ Z51 package
This car will amaze you with it's ability to track accurately and at high "g" loads in complete comfort and with complete confidence. The engine torque and the gearing of the car are very well matched to the available traction of the tires at a given speed. There are no sudden spikes in power, (spikes that give the sensation of lots of power but actually come at the expense of a loss of overall power),just a constant increase with rpm. There is a "fat" or "sweet spot" of power output from around 5000 to 6500 rpm, however. The car is quiet and powerful. The car is very comfortable and agile. The car is absolutely stunning in Daytona Sunset Orange paint.
Amazing
Although the fit and finish on this incredible vehicles interior is not yet up to that of many foreign cars of its class, the comfort level, ride, and features are comparable to that of a Lexus while providing performance levels equal to that of a Porsche! For the money and love of driving, you just cant beat the all new Corvette!
