Used 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier Consumer Reviews
Caviliers Are Great Cars
I love this car. I live on a limited income and can not purchase a brand new car. So, when I got the chance to purchase this car, even though its age was high, I fell in love with it. This car handles good on the road, I love the braking system, and couldn't ask for a more roomier car.
Nice sporty car
This car really has some zip to it and nothing beats riding with the top down. If you find one without a crack in the dash, its a rare find. Seems that everyone has it. It also likes to leak water, but hey its a convertible. Also has a good deal of wind noise, but again its a convertible. Great car for the money

Great little package
I have not had any serious problems with my cavalier. Recently I took it on a 4478.15 mile road trip and I could not have asked for a better vehicle. The fuel economy for this car is remarkable and there is a large resource of parts if needed. Solid quality for the price you pay.
Horrible experience
Only a three years old, and I have spent over $2000 in repair already. My shifter cable has snapped for the second time tonight. Also had both rotors replaced, as well as getting one of the bearings changed as well. I THOUGHT Cavaliers were reliable. But this car proved me wrong. This car has convinced me not to buy an American car ever again.
Value
This car was purchased for $3000. So far it's been decent. I had to replace the computer($350), the alternator pulley and belt($200), and the slave cylinder and clutch($740). All the parts were original which means the car was built good I was just unlucky that all the parts lasted as long as they did (10 years). Car runs great now and hopefully I can get another year and 15000 miles before I have to replace anything else on this car.
