Used 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche Consumer Reviews

I have a 7 yr, 5 yr, 7 month year old and my wife has a baby on the way. I had some GM card rebate so I looked at every GM car that sat 6+ passengers. I have always had trucks so wanted a bed if possible. I didn't even look at the Avalanche at first because I always thought it was ugly and didn't even consider it. I looked at TrailBlazer, 4 door Silverado, Venture, and Tahoe. Luckily my rep convinced me to look at it....loved it and never looked back. For you parents out there.....what sealed the deal was the airbag sensor in the front seats - 4 door trucks like Silverado don't have it - so it's safe for kids in the front seat of the Avalanche.
Solid, Versitle
The conversion capability is priceless. Just a quick 1-10 minute change depending on what I need. I'm a snowboard instructor in VT and the 4WD, and the ability to comfortably carry 5 (bucket seats) and gear without a roof rack (they're dirty anyway) or even converting is clutch. With all this comes cost though. It takes quite a bit more time to clean and condition all the seals plus all the maintence of 4WD. Then again, there's not a lot of paint to wax :) Also it is a bit of an ordeal to add any sub woofers and miantain the conversion capability. If you want to know more see chevyavalanchefanclub. com

Better than other 4dr trucks!
We were looking 4 a "family" type vehicle. Had leased Suburban&looked @ Ford F150 4dr.Was nice. Then went back 2 Chevy 2 see what they had in similar price range. Tried their Silverado, but salesman/finance guy pointed out price of Avalanche. Being very happy with leased Burban, we were impressed with suspension and overall ride/handling of it!A great find!Had always liked the boxyness of it's styling but thought would be priced higher than average 4drs. Picked out an Arrival Blu WITH "armour" pakage and have never looked at another truck since! By the way, 2 Loren Guinn 7/03, plastic mouldngs AREN'T tacky & has prevented many a dents in parking lots a
I Love My Avalanche
At first I didnt like the looks of the Avalanche. Neighbors bought one and I soon began to like the utility then the looks began to attract me. So I picked up a white full armor unit and I love it! 10K so far and no problems. I get from 15 to 21 mpg which os great for a big car/truck like this. My cousins 2003 Expedition gets 13 to 16 mpg so the Chevy gets an excellent on mpg. The vehicle is comfortable, drives like a luxury car has utility like a truck. I highly recommned this vehicle to anyone interested in a vehicle that does it all. Super Job GM! Oh by the way the 5.3 Avalanche will smoke the 5.4 Expedition throught the 0-60 and the 1/4 mile!
SS Avalanche
I HAVE 32000 MILES ON MINE AND I STILL LOVE IT! HAVE HAULED IT WITH THE BED LEVEL FULL OF DIRT, AND WITH 30 SHEETS OF 1/2" PLYWOOD, AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF COURSE BUT IT DID GREAT! I HAVE PUT ON A MORE OPEN EXHAUST, AND NOW GET 19 MPG ON THE HWY.I ALSO HAVE A 2002 SUPER CREW 1/2 TON FORD AND THE AVALANCHE IS 4 TIMES THE TRUCK. BETTER RIDE BETTER HORSEPOWER AND GAS MILEAGE.
