2025 Cadillac XT5 Consumer Reviews
Pricing
My first XT5
Where do I start? The Cadillac XT5 is a reasonably priced midsize SUV with plenty of tech, especially in the technology package. The rearview camera (mirror) was the first surprise during my test drive. Everything from the adaptive cruise, parking and lane alerts to the straightforward phone integrations puts me at ease. I feel connected to my XT5 and my surroundings! Though storage for small items is lacking, especially in the driver and passenger space, I find that my XT5 offers ample headroom and legroom in both the front and rear. The turbocharged 4 cylinder delivers adequate acceleration, but I recommend the V-6 unless a few extra miles make a difference to you. I like this car and will probably comment more after I've driven it for six months!

Nice mid priced luxury SUV
Handles well, plenty of power for what it's designed for (V-6). Nice layout. I bought this for a good price for a mid size luxury SUV and it has most of the safety features I was looking for. I highly recommend the V-6 rather than the 4 cylinder. You don't lose that much mileage, can use regular gas rather than the required premium in the 4 cylinder, and it has more horsepower. Options, if you can get them with all the chip shortages, and availability of models are pretty good. I found it comfortable, good visibility, and a good bargain for the price.

Love it!
I bought a 2022 XT5 several months ago. I’m very satisfied. It’s a pleasure to drive and has all the amenities. I have the Premium Luxury Trim. The V6 is very peppy, transmission is very smooth. I have no regrets. Highly recommend the XT5.

A lot better than the junk 4 cyl in the new RX350
Love this car Always bought Lexus Rx until they stopped the V-6 The 2023 Rx has a crappy 4Cyl that takes premium fuel I bought the sport model and love it Never thought I would praise a GM vehicle. I have 9000 miles on it already and would never go back to the Lexus. The options are much better. For example the heated steering wheel heats all around where the Lexus only heat in the center. The rear view camera is far superior I could go on and on Very satisfied

Keep looking, these things aren't reliable
Was delivered to the dealership with a couple of scuffs at the front and rear. In less than 60 days with 469 miles on the odometer the AC quits cooling. Not so roomy interior for $57k

Sterling 2500 mile road trip
2500 miles of Comfort and quiet from Detroit to Hilton Head. The vehicle performed flawlessly the entire trip on flat roads, mountain roads and around town. Plenty of space for golf clubs and luggage not to mention 4 adult passengers. Averaged 25.5 miles for the entire trip which included highway driving to and from plus 2 weeks of local driving and sightseeing. Couldn’t be happier with the vehicle.

*****Star review
Love this car!! Cadillac makes an easy to drive, very comfortable XT5. The rearrangement of the Driver’s dashboard has everything grouped in the right places. The upgrades to navigation and controls made it easy to set and use them.

THE 2024 IS BETTER THAN YOUR 10 RATING
Edmunds is selling this vehicle short! My 24 lux models with all the bells and whistles is a great suv. the safety features are top notch and the vehicle provides comfortable transportation. Your writers fault this suv for small windows? Noise invading inside (i think it is very quiet with little noise invading the cabin.) and the window size is a none starter - just looking for an excuse to knock down a fine domestic product. The sound system is fantastic and puts you in a concert hall. Build quality is outstanding and good comments on exterior looks. A great us built duv.
2024 XT5 Transmission failed on 3 days
Purchased new on December 26, 2023. Drove for three days and transmission failed. Towed to local dealer for repair on Jan 2, 2024. Today is February 27, 2024 and no repair parts available and no scheduled date for transmission replacement. Supply chain issues I am told. I am still w/o a vehicle. STAY AWAY!!!

2024 XT5 transmission failed
I leased a 2024 xt5 in December 2023 and drove it for about 1400 miles when the transmission failed. It had to be towed to the dealer on March 5 and is still there on March 27th 2024. Dealer only says the part is on order, but no date to fix and return. They gave me a loaner of lessor features to use. Still waiting.

EXIE
Wife loves the rearview camera, the surround view and heads up display. The car seems quick then then the 0-60 times I have seen listed for the 6 cyl, could be the gearing of the 9 speed automatic. But most of all it excels in quality of interior material and ride comfort. I can't believe Cadillac is discontinuing the XT5 as it is there number 1 seller.

Bad CADDY
We have owned many cadillacs from the dts to xt5. Never had problems until 2021. Bought a new xt5 platinum and had nothing but problems. Had to have gm engineer come fix it, rear view went bad, had to put in new coaxial, wouldn't work, ordered another part. While it was in garage we made a big mistake, got tired of 2021 being in garage all the time with only 600 miles and bought a 2022 xt5, at 200 miles alerts started from onstar engine and transmission, wouldn't shift out of 1st gear. It had 10 alerts and wouldn't shift out of 1st, not to mention Electric drive and seal in axle leaked. At 600 miles was back in garage for three weeks with another engineer. We have had our fill of cadillacs.

Don’t buy you will be sorry
Worst vehicle I have ever owned. Android auto is the worst system going. It doesn’t work properly. Problems trying to hook up 2 phones. If my husband is on his phone and I have to leave, the system will connect his phone and instead of mine. I can hear his conversation all the way down the street. When I get out of range, the system drops his call and he has to make another call. The system will not connect my phone until I turn off the car. I have to buy onstar for a minimum of $400 a year in order to get map updates, or you have to purchase an sd card for $150 or more each year. Every time I start the car I get a message to contact nstar to purchase. This message stays on the screen until I clear it. If I don’t clear the message it covers up the icons that are available to use. Customer service for gm and onstar will tell you that it is what it is. Can’t help you. You are being forced to purchase items that you do not want in order to get things to work properly. These fees are not one time fees, they are every year which will increase every year. I regret buying this car and I will never buy a gm or Cadillac ever again. Their operating systems are the worst ever.
Great SUV
This is my 3rd Cadillac XT5. They are great cars and I would recommend it to anyone.
Disappointed!
After only 2,500 the ac started whining terribly. I took it to Ben Mynatt in Concord, NC to have repaired, after two tries and a new compressor, the ac still whines. I like the vehicle, but I am very disappointed in the fact that a brand new off the show room floor vehicle has this issue and disappointed at the service I received at Ben Mynatt in Concord, NC. I plan to escalate the issue to GM.

Smoother Ride
I leased a 2020 XT5 and it was a lovely car but had a very rough ride. The 2023 has a smoother ride and I glad my lease needed to be renewed with a new version so I could experience the ride I expected from a Cadillac.

XT52023
Need to improve the driver seat settings. The buttons have limited range/movement. The middle storage box is very, very small. The air vents are limited and the cold air is not cold.

made it to the big time
the car is very good in most things so far, 2 issues 1 1 should either offer 6 cylinder at no charge, or make a 4 cylinder on regular gas 2 electric shifter is horrible. constantly going into Nor M. Bypassing D. other transmission levers were more accurate in finding each gear.

Red and beaming!
I love my car! Until I don't This is my 5th SRX-XT5 and I have had no major issues with them. I rated 4 stars because of the console size and cup holders are way too small.

Love My XT5
I am just ordered my third XT5. I guess it will be the last Cadillac XT5 since they are sadly being discontinued. My first XT5 was a Luxury Model, Second was the Sport Model and the one on order is the Premium Luxury. The pricing has gone up a fair amount since my Sport model which was loaded with options. I have no complaints except for the squeaky breaks which was an issue on all of my XT5's. The dealership replaced them with upgraded brake pads and this solved the problem on my last two XT5's. I love the V6 engine and would never take the four cylinder. The speed this car has is exceptional. The ride is good, interior is great and the storage is more than enough for my needs. I am upset with Cadillac for going all EV. I expect this to be my last Cadillac and will drive it as long as I can. My last five cars have been the Cadillac SRX and XT5. I feel betrayed by Cadillac giving the XT5 to the Chinese and ignoring your North American clients, Shame on you!! IF you are in the market for an XT5 now go for it. It is a great car. Get the V6. Comfortable, user-friendly tech, and good mileage!
I absolutely love my 2025 XT5 V6, AWD, Premium Luxury. After 6k miles, I am happy to report no issues. It is the most comfortable car I’ve ever owned and I found the technology easy to learn and use. This has a world of features that make driving safe and pleasurable. It is more reliable than a friend’s Nautilus, and has much more back seating space (shoulder to shoulder) then a Genesis GV70! I can only hope the XT5 will continue to be built!!!
