Overall a great purchase. I tried them all and this one got me by the short hairs. Top notch interior and exterior. A real pleasure to drive. Visibility is fantastic. It might take me two months to learn the electronics, but it's all there. Stunning vehicle.

Diesel issue after 90,000km

Please watch for bad injectors. Based on my experience BMW will not stand behind their X35d. Had #4 injector go 6 months out of warranty. Check engine light came on again after another 3 months (4,000 KM) they suggested switching injectors 1&2 - 3 months later injector 2 needs replacing. BMW will help out however refuse to replace the rest of the injectors so each time one goes I’m back at the dealer. The vehicle has been fully serviced at BMW. 2 months later now it appears the engine was carbons up. After getting walnut blast and replacing particulate sensor I now find out it needs a diesel particulate filter - quote from the dealer $9,000 - on top of that my left rear air suspension is leaking and the rear differential seals are leaking. Awful experience for a 4-5 year old vehicle with low KM. I would not recommend buying these vehicles.

I bought my X5 i35 SDrive in late 2016, fully loaded , Sport package and all the safety features. Had some doubts between the X drive and the S Drive, went for the S drive and have no regrets. Great car, safe and sooth ride , very happy with the 300 HP and the Sport feature what boost the power, definitively fun to drive , specially in the s mode. Upgraded the tires to all season Continentals and they perform great in snow...we have got over 35 inches so far.. in the NJ area.

I struggled with the decision to get the 35d over the 50i but it was the best decision I could make. What a fantastic vehicle!
