Used 2002 BMW 5 Series Consumer Reviews
Great car but low reliability
This was my first BMW, and it was the best car I ever owned -- until its second birthday. Great handling, braking, overall feel. Above average marks on luxury and comfort. No problems until the two year mark, then all sort hit in fairly quick order. Including: electrical system problems stranded me three times in two weeks, rotting trim, radio & climate controls, and computer display panel fading out. Traded car after Internet research - - BMW's OK reliabilty in general but if you get one that goes bad it really goes bad.
Great Vehicle
Outstanding car experience all around. Of course the cup holders suck, and the middle arm rest is ridiculous, and they put the horn in the front bumper so it gets smacked easily, and it's a guzzler. BUT: it is simply amazing to drive in every respect.

Wagons are Back
Love driving the 525 wagon. It has the utility of an SUV with better gas mileage, lower insurance rates, and great handling & performance. Always have sufficient power when needed. Originally bought the wagon for our dog (in our 20s, no kids), but now wouldn't go without a BMW wagon! Would have never expected strangers to stop us on the street complimenting a wagon, but this happens frequently. We're already planning an upgrade to the '08 535xi Sports Wagon!
This car is a Gas !
This car is a Gas! It handles on all types of roads with the very best. The build quality is excellent, the sport suspension leaves very little to be desired. This automobile daily gives miles of smiles.

A car built for a driver. Corners beautifully, comfortable on trips and in town.
