Great Looking, But ...
I purchased a 1998 Audi 1.8 T and almost immediately had problems when the passenger side seat fell off its tracks and the cruise control didn't work. While the problems were resolved, about four years after my ownership bega, I started having serious problems with the car. Last year, less than five years after purchase, I put $3,000 into repairs. Audis may look great -- but be VERY careful of their reliability and upkeep!
Ignition problem
I understand this car has an ignition problem I've just began to dig into it to find out what it could be.

I hate my car!!!
This car is loud, has no power, and it handles like a truck. Audi service is poor. I have received better service from General Motors, Honda and Toyota dealers. Do yourself a favor and buy a CLK320 from Mercedes.
Never buy a VW or Audi
I have bought Junkers that were better vehicles than this. I have owned many vehicles and never wrote a review but I gotta warn everybody to stay away from these. Almost every time I drive it something breaks. The fan control unit just went out, apparently a common issue? It's a $400 part???? It's a $10 part on every other manufacturer? The thing has a turbo but can't get out of it's own way and it still gets terrible gas mileage? My Saturn would smoke this thing and got 10 more mpg and was way more reliable. It's way too low to the ground, hit a speed bump and cracked the oil pan. WHO MAKES AN OIL PAN OUT OF ALUMINUM??? It would have just had a dent if it was made out of steel like every other manufacturer, but no it was made out of aluminum so it just split in two. Sensors are constantly going off, go over a bump and it says low oil when the oil level is fine. The water heater hoses are made with plastic connectors? Who designed this POS. You have to have a special part to fill the transmission oil and you can't even check it to see if it's low, but if it does get low, well the transmission is ruined and if you don't change the oil all the time, that will ruin the transmission, and it's only possible to change half the fluid so you have to change the fluid twice in an attempt to try and get it all. This isn't limited to just Audi, VW's have all these same flaws as well. NEVER BUY AN AUDI OR VW! Unless of course you like paying $20/liter for transmission fluid and spending $500 every 20k having it done? The motor is covered in plastic pieces just waiting to fall apart. I'm not even touching the surface of the design flaws of this vehicle. Stay far away. Whoever wrote all these good reviews know nothing of vehicles.

Nirvana
As I'm in my 50's now, I've driven many different types of vehicles but mostly Japanese, including Lexus. The ride of this vehicle supersedes by far anything I have owned or tested in performance, comfort, handling, and confidence. As I explained to a friend, this car could die on me tomorrow, and I wouldn't care because the time spent with it already has provided enough pleasure for a lifetime. Buy it, you won't regret it.
