Good balance between comfort and handling, quiet

They struck a fine balance between a comfortable ride and performance handling. Yes, the handling is not quite as sharp as a BMW or Audi S series car, but it's better than a typical Toyota/Lexus/Honda family sedan, and the ride is comfortable without feeling to "floaty". I would have liked to have seen a 3.0L Turbo engine by now, but, the naturally aspirated 3.5L V6 certainly has adequate power (0 - 60 in 5.7 seconds) and, I was happy to save a little money with the discounted price which is probably due to the car having slightly less horsepower than some competition (which costs $5K - $15K more). The cabin road noise on the TLX is excellently quiet, superior to most other "luxury" cars until you approach the $100,000 or more price point and get dual pane windows like in a premium Mercedes AMG E series. This is a car that makes me want to drive more, even if it's just to the grocery store to pickup some onions that we need for dinner. It's also a far better looking car than much of the competition - the 2018 A4 looks like an upside down bathtub with a hamburger grill stuck on the front and the 2018 Accord and Toyota Camry both look like they're trying too hard to be "different" but not in a good way. I love the V6 in "Lunar Silver" or the A-Spec in the blue with red leather seats. (Mine is the silver)

Super Handling Describes It

I love this new 2018 A-SPEC SHAWD TLX, which replaced my 2005 Acura TL. Every day, I look forward to driving it. The SHAWD feature is impressive. If you test drive both the SHAWD and the standard front wheel drive version, you will recognize the obvious difference. I am yet to find the limit of this car's handling. The appearance is striking, and it gets a lot of looks from other drivers on the road. The interior is top notch. The ride is smooth and quiet. My only complaint is that every time I start the car, I have to manually disable the annoying gas saving feature that shuts the engine off at red lights. I am getting 26 mpg average. Hats off to Acura. I am glad I waited for the mid year refresh before I made my decision to purchase.

Perfect value!

Seriously, my favorite Acura to date-and I’ve had 3 Acura TLs &1 MDX. There's so much value for the money. Apple carplay is standard, a comfy, luxurious interior, and plenty of other tech gadgets- all for under 33k! The power from the 2.4 liter engine is plentiful, especially in sport/sport plus mode. Handling is the perfect balance of comfortable and sporty when you need it to be; plus, I average around 31 mpg in mixed driving. I would recommend this car to anyone who wants a sporty, luxury sedan! It’s a shame this vehicle is so underrated-the value alone helps in beat the competition!

Love the TLX

This car is beautiful! Love the overall shape of the car and design of new front grill. It has a great engine under the hood. I have the V6 and when I want power, it provides plenty in sport mode. When I just want to cruise, I put it in econ mode and turn on the adaptive cruise control to enjoy the ride. The adaptive cruise control is probably my favorite feature - saves the accelerator to brake action in bumper to bumper traffic since it slows down based on the car in front of you. I also love the safety features. If I don't brake in time, I get a warning that flashes up on the screen, and if I still don't stop, it stops for me (accidentally tested this out - it works but wouldn't try it on purpose). The android auto is very intuitive and lets me do multiple functions at once, like listening to music and navigation. I get text messages up on the screen while I'm driving, which prevents me from even thinking about pulling out my phone. Google assistant works with android auto as well!! Some people complain about the dual screens, but I have not had an issue with them. Android auto and navigation shows up on the top screen. Music and temperature control options are on the bottom screen. It's really nice having the two screens so you can see both navigation and music details at the same time. The car also has two settings for driver seat placement - so my seat is automatically adjusted to my personal settings when I get in. (though it would be nice if the steering wheel would do the same thing - so now that's what we battle over). Overall, I love this car!! Update: I've now had this car over a year and still LOVE every bit of what I wrote initially! The only annoyance is that the shifting is weird at about 35mph. If I'm going a steady speed, it shifts up and/or down really hard like it cant decide what gear to be in, causing a jerking motion for the passengers in the car. Not sure if this is due to it being a 9 speed or something is wrong, but I've read other reviews from people that had a similar experience.

I’m done with Acura

I have been a loyal Acura customer for the past 19 years and have owned 7 cars. A few TSX and TL’s and TLX. I am having an issue with the paint on my 2019 TLX, San Marino Red. I have had spots that seem to permanently stick to the surface. The dealer has attempted to buff them out, but you can still see them under the paint. Most recently, they buffed the clear coat off several sections and had to re-paint those areas. The service manager agrees that it must be something in the paint, yet Acura Client Services is claiming that it must be hard water spots. I have another Acura RDX parked next to mine which is cleaned with the same water and cleaning supplies and there is no issue. I also never had an issue with previous cars. The rep is trying to say it’s because I had darker cars in the past and never the red. Sounds like a bunch of b.s. instead of investigating this further. I feel something was missed at the factory. I was already missing a part to hold the back folding seat in place. I could literally pick the top of the back seat up and almost pull it out. It was missing the bolt that holds up in place. How could it leave the factory like that? So I don’t have much confidence in the quality aspect of this vehicle right now. Anyway, although I stood strongly behind Acura in the past, This will be my last Acura since I am no longer going to tolerate this lack of customer service and failure to do the right thing for the customer.
