Not Perfect, But Perfectly Fine
If you want to compare the 2023 Integra to other cars, you can nitpick your areas of issue, as we all focus on different wants. Missing Homelink™️ on the rear view mirror? Search the ‘Net and you’ll find a few of us posted the Honda part# and simple How-To to swap out the mirror. Don’t like the acceleration of the automatic? I’m fairly certain Hondata will address that in the street (“CARB”) version of the ECU mod. Personally, I’ve not be enamored by many cars’ lines in recent years. Nothing before this car was priced well enough for me to give up a paid-off 2013 Cooper S. But I’m glad to be back in an Acura; my fifth since 1998. Got the A-spec Tech with black 19” wheels and it turns heads. But, more importantly … I love it!

Poor build quality ruins a good car
I bought my ‘23 Integra A-Spec because I thought it was a well designed, nicely packaged, practical, and fun daily driver. Honda *tried* to build a really good car here, which is why it gets 2 stars instead of 1. Unfortunately the quality issues I’ve experienced in the first 12 months and 11,000mi have ruined it for me. Early on I found interior pieces which had been misassembled and had to be fixed, such as the mode selector switch next to the shifter which fell behind the panel. Annoying but not a huge deal by itself. But things have kept getting worse instead of better. At 3 months a piece of exterior window trim warped and started making incredible wind noise at highway speeds, which Acura fixed after 3 dealer visits and a couple of months waiting for the part. Since then I’ve been fighting an endless stream of squeaks, rattles, and buzzes. Something under the car groans every time I shift at low speed. There’s something that sounds like a rattlesnake behind the dash if the engine exceeds 4,000RPM. I have rattles in a door panel, the headliner, and somewhere else in the dash. The noises never end. In that respect the Integra is worse than anything I’ve owned including vehicles that were well over 100k miles by the time I sold them.

234 horsepower in a 3,074-pound six-speed manual
I traded in a 2022 Civic EX-L Hatchback because I forgot that I had put my name on a reserve list for the new Integra last year. A friend still has a 2022 Civic Si. The Integra 6MT is quicker (as confirmed by dyno testing by Hondata). Acura’s marketing advertises the Integra as having 200 HP when in fact it has 234 HP at the wheel (not the crank). At 3,074 pounds, that gives it a more favorable power-weight ratio than cars like the BMW 230i and even the VW GTI. I love everything about the new Integra. It’s noticeably roomier than the 2022 Civic hatch and the Civic Si, with significantly more features including adaptive suspension and a killer sound system.

If you get it you get it
This car is for specific buyers. If fun to drive is what you are looking for this car fits the bill. If fun to drive is what you want definitely get the manual. if you want a quiet sedate sedan look elsewhere this is not it. The seats sit low and are a bit firm. The car is not as quiet as other cars. The stock tires are very squishy corporate. The DWS06 replacements I put on should have been OEM. I say don’t buy this car unless fun is at the top of the list.

Hidden gem, Happy customer
My lease ended for my 2020 Honda Accord Sport 1.5T and I really wasn’t looking forward to the new gen bodystyle of the 2023 Accord. They went backwards in my opinion. Fortunately, the lease programs for the new Accord and even the new Civic were well above my price range for cars I really wouldn’t be happy with. Luckily, I saw the Acura Integra winning North American Car of the Year and I decided to look into it. Landed a great deal on a 2023 Acura Integra Aspec Tech White with Red Interior. I didn’t even need to test drive it. It’s a honda after all. I instantly fell in love! I’ve always wanted red interior and i’m happy I got to stay in the Honda family, but now got to enjoy some luxury. The ride is quite enjoyable while switching dynamic modes. I love how the dash is setup compared to my old Accord. Speakers are excellent. Touchscreen is the perfect size and better than my old Accord. I never knew how much I needed all the bells and whistles such as the HUD display, memory seats, auto rain sensors, mirror tilt for parking, and auto dimming rear mirror. And the car is just an absolute beauty. Overall, I think Acura did a fantastic job with the new Integra. Highly recommend A++
