I'm still seeing posts from owners that have the coolant leak issue, or just a lemony Freelander in general. Best day I ever had was the day I traded in my 2004 Freelander for a 2009 Subaru Forester. I lost a ton of money on the Freelander, but I bet I would have lost more on repairs if I had kept it. I keep telling people to just dump it and ... Read More
I had a 2000 Nissan X-Terra SE had total pay-off and over $150K miles due to on-road sales ready for trade-in, had plans on purchasing 4runner w/out 4wd...and many dealerships gave me the run around on pricing and availability on a 2009. They wanted to sell me a 2008 4runner for almost the same price as I purchased my 2008 Land Rover LR3. I found this pricing by going to two ... Read More
Hi padraic. Unfortunately britman4 is right. Land Rover is not currently providing any lease support on the 2009 LR3. If you really want one, your best bet would be to finance it through Chase at 0% for 3 years, 0.9% for 4 years, or 1.9% for 5 years ant get a $1,000 cash bonus. All, My 2002 Range Rover was going out of warranty and a lease on another car was expiring so I need two cars at once. Maybe I could have even done better going out of state (I am in FL) but what LR did was unbelievable on the 2008 BRAND NEW LR3s: 2008HSE Java Black with Satellite radio and full (three row plus cargo) heavy duty LR rubber mats: Sticker: $55,600 ... I just found a dealer in southern california that has a good stock of LR3 they need to move including a NEW 2007. Any opinions on buying a NEW 2007 at this point, Feb 2009.
Hi roverdude. To the best of my knowledge, Land Rover is not providing lease support on either the 2008 or the 2009 LR3 right now. If this is indeed the case, it means that you would have to use its standard lease money factors to lease one right now. Doing so doesn't make sense, because Land Rover's standard money factors are terrible. Its current 24 month buy rate standard factor is ... Read More
Hi njmdx. Land Rover launched a fairly aggressive special lease program on the 2009 Range Rover Sport in January, but I don't believe that it is providing any lease support on the '09 LR3 right now. The only special promotion that I am aware of on the '09 LR3 is 1.9% to 3.9% financing. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum
Understand LR will release 2010 MY LR3's in May of 2009 which will mean many dealers won't even be ordering the 2009 models. Can this be verified ? Also wondering what big changes are in store for 2010 MY to prompt this move by Land Rover...
CarMan, I've been hearing Land Rover will start an aggressive lease program for the LR3 in january -- have you heard anything about this? Current lease deals are not so good! thanks
freelander never had low range so what made you think the LR2 would have low range" I admit to not having followed all of Land Rovers' developments and so did not know the freelander was similarly crippled. Even without low range the freelander is an amazing performer off road. You aren't going to do much rock crawling with it but it doesn't have the ground clearance for rock crawling anyway. Its ... Of course we have over and over. That is usually my first question for any of our Land Rover reps when they come to visit. They have already made one update to the defender about a year ago to cut down on production costs. They made some production changes to decrease the amount of man hours required to build each defender. That extended the lifespan of the current design to around ... Read More
1) Very, very doubtful. Also, E85 is not any cheaper in most markets currently and you get less MPG. Less foreign oil, but little cost/performance benefit. You might see new clean diesel LR3s here... maybe 2008 or 2009 here? 2) Land Rover vehicles are never at the top of reliability statistics, but LR3 (and RRS) are a brand new design. They're less than 2 years old and are all still under ... Read More
Just do a search. Most avergage 15-16 MPG with mixed use, which is decent considering LR3's "heaviest in class" weight. The EPA "sticker" MPG estimates are accurate. "Clean Diesel" needs to appear before we see more diesels. Diesels are currently illegal in California and New York due emmission restrictions. (FYI: California is one of Land Rover's largest markets.) Anyway, "Clean Diesel" will be launched within the next 2 years, and we'll ... Read More
