  you have a blown fuse. check the fuse panel by the drivers door panel around the top middle. You should be able to replace that fuse and be ok. I had a similar situation with my jimmy.   I recently bought a 1999 GMC Jimmy SLE and noticed the break light on the drivers side wont light up. The other break lights as well as all other lights work as they should...just that break light. It's not the fuse and it's not the bulb. Any ideas what I can check next? Thank you.

  Check the door switches and make sure they are OK, and is the battery voltage OK.

  Check the grounding from the negative side of the battery to the engine, and also to the frame/body. A poor ground can also yield may bizarre symptons.

  The electrical problems you describe on your Jimmy sound like a(or more) wires shorting to ground. I think you should take it to a reputable repair shop.Preferrably a Chevrolet or GMC dealer.   The water shorted the starter solenoid, which is mounted to the started just inside the right front wheel well. Take a look at the starter and see if a shroud or wiring is loose. A direct shot of water shouldn't engage the starter.

  Fan clutch is going so no air flow, cap not holding pressure, water pump going, thermostat could be sticking, or the whole system crapped up - fan and cap get my vote as only when sitting. I would flush it out and add a new thermostst and cap and see if OK. Then on to the fan clutch. WP normally leak at seal holes if bad.

  Does the security theft light flash before it dies? Did you add a remote starter system? Passlock II systems have had a few problems so see post #2281 in this forum. Did they check your fuel pressure at the test port yet cause requires min 54psi running. How about any codes (SES light on).
