You definitely seem to have a negative view of the car overall. It sounds like you werent a fan before you looked at the car and really had little interest in it in the first place. Au contraire, my man. I eagerly looked forward to the Buick being released, and I still think it will do Buick very well. As I said before, I don't see what you see in it, ... Read More

Disconnect the battery and connect the cables together to reset the controller's door position. The doors should perform a sweep test to relearn door positions. If this fixes the problem, a revised controller is available. Bulletin #02-01-39-001 is related. If that does not fix the problem, use a scan tool to monitor door commanded and actual door positions. Also check for poor a/c performance problem. It is common to cause different ... Read More

The headlights do not come on at all and the only way you can use your brights is to hold the switch towards you and drive which is kinda dangerous. My sis has a '98 Regal that she loves, but at about 120K, after a rough trip on some of the Northeast's winter pot-holed roads, her car's handling and suspension got out of whack. So she had the front and rear struts replaced, and though this partially addressed the problems, the car isn't back to the nice controlled ride she had enjoyed for several years. I have a 1998 Volvo S-70 which is a well engineered car with frequent and expensive repairs, just like many European makes but the seats and controls and road feel are awesome. The depreciation is normal for the 3-year old car: http://www.edmunds.com/used/1998/buick/regal/4drgssprchgdsedan.html#price more like $12k loss when trading-in. But the car mileage is low. When calculating lease payments, even GMAC assumes about 50% depreciation for Regal after 36 month / 36k miles. I forgot, was it 49% or 51%. For other W-body cars the depreciation is even worse.

FYI. Buick Regals are built in Oshawa, Ontario Canada along with Buick Century. The Regals have a very sporty shape to them. The lines remind me of 92-96 Toyota Camry. Buick Regal looks the best with 225-60/16 tires and alloys. The 15" wheels and wheel covers cheapen the look of the car. I drove a 98 LS with 23K miles two summers ago. It felt sporty, quite.
