T6 AWD Rocks!

Got this car to replace my 2006 Highlander. What a difference. Great power, comfort and quality. Drove the car on a 4000 mile vacation and averaged 23.6MPG-much better than I had expected. The comfort of the front seats is exceptional. I like the understated design of the car. Friends and family were surprised by my purchase but once they rode in the car they were bowled over. I feel very secure in the car at high speeds.

The best all around car I've ever owned

I love this car so much. It's the perfect blend of brick solid understated luxury, utility, reliability, performance, and exceptional comfort. I've had a considerable amount of cars over the years but I missed my last 2008 V70 so much, no matter what else I got, that I finally found me an XC70 version in perfect condition. As soon as I picked it up everything felt so right again to the point where I'm going to keep this one until it falls apart or I die. Does it have little issues? Yes; it's not a Honda. Yet I would sacrifice Honda reliability every day for the exceptional step up in quality in almost every other arena. My old papa used to say there is a difference between a car and an automobile. He's right. If you want a car there are plenty out there. If you want an automobile, Volvo has it in spades.

Great wagon!!

Love the solid construction of the wagon, very manageable, and has all the bells and whistles of safety and comfort. I bought it for myself, but my daughter loves it so much so I gave it to her. Bluetooth of the wagon is so strong that it picks up signals even when the phone is in the house. It has blind spot sensor and backup camera which are very useful and provide added safety for new drivers!! Thanks Volvo for making such a great car!!

140,000 miles & going strong

The 2013 XC70 T6 is the best car I’ve ever owned. Picked it up in Sweden as part of Volvo’s factory delivery program and got to drive it around Scandinavia for a couple of weeks before it was shipped to the States - absolutely recommend the experience. The turbo-powered T6 jumps off the line and is just as fun to drive as the BMW 3-series I had before it. Sure, it’s not as tight in the corners, but this is a beefy wagon, not a sports car. And speaking of wagon: This beast has an amazing cargo capacity. It’s like it was designed for big trips to IKEA. You can always fit more stuff in back. Seriously. It’s a very comfortable car, especially up front. We opted for the built-in pop-up booster seats in back, and I’m subtracting a comfort star for those; after a couple years they get a bit compressed and feel a bit weird when you sit in back. After 11 years the car still looks great, despite the wear and tear of family life. It’s had only a few maintenance issues; both rear springs broke and had to be replaced a couple years ago, which is an issue with this model, made worse by winters on the salted roads of New England. And I’ve had to replace a fuel rail pressure sensor and lift gate strut - both afternoon DIY jobs if you like working on cars. But otherwise it’s an absolutely reliable car. I’m a little sad Volvo has evolved its newer wagons in a more luxury-oriented direction. This period of the XC70 was the perfect balance of power, capacity and style, the right car when you want all those things but don’t need a full SUV.

It is a heavy duty vehicle that drives like a dream. Good for carrying stuff and all of my other transportation needs. Air conditioner works well which is important in south Florida. However, I whacked a knob on the console, so the radio doesn't work and restoring all the electronics would be expensive. The transmission timing belt, at 103,000, is due for changing, very expensive. So, I want to start over with a newer version of the same (I believe my 7th, I believe, over 37 years). I would like to get $5-8,000 for it to offset its replacement.
