Used 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan Consumer Reviews
Love the car but not good for big families
I've had my 2022 VW tiguan 2022 for over a year now. We are up to 53k miles. We've had no issues except the factory VW battery is going bad and the warranty stopped at 50k so it's gonna cost $400. Anyway, the only complaints I have are that the 3rd row seat is TINY. My boys are 6 and 8 and are small but gave no room. Also there is only 2 tiny air vents to cool the whole 2nd row and 3rd row. We live in florida and it's extremely hard to get it to cool for my kids back there. I had to buy car fans to help. There is no space with the 3rd row up. I have to get someone to watch my kids to be able to grocery shop. Other than this, the car is great. It's has a hard body and great great gas mileage. Also, if you like loud music, there is a safety setting that you can no override and the car will not get loud. Just putting that out there. We are currently trying to trade for something bigger for us and that actually has rear air conditioning.

Great car
It has a premium feel and looks, a strict and professional design, and is affordable. It is minimalistic yet has everything that is needed. Try comparing the feel of how the front doors are closed to the Tesla Model 3, and you'll understand which car has better quality. It accelerates well, runs smoothly, and has comfortable chairs. The only concern I could see was small side mirrors. It is not critical, but I prefer to have wider views. I definitely recommend it.

RUN, Do Not Walk, Away From a 2022 Tiguan
Unless you appreciate abysmal customer support, nonexistent reliability, and expensive repairs, this car will truly be the one you regret owning most in your life. When our 2021 Tiguan was "not really" bought back (VW provided a cash buyout when they couldn't fix the problem, and the dealer thoughtfully bought the car back for resale), we purchased a 2022 Tiguan 4Motion under the assumption that we wouldn't get two lemons in a row. This car is not accurately named, since we have experienced far too much "No Motion." So far, despite following or exceeding VW's maintenance recommendations, we have experienced the following: - Hesitation on cold startup since day one of ownership - A sometimes glitchy infotainment system - Paint that does not stand up to the rigors of most roadways and traffic (particularly in Kings Red) - Coil pack failure at 70,000 miles - $980 to fix - Failure of the oil separator, which in turn blew out the timing cover seals and wiped out part of the emissions system, and a water pump leak, all at 76,000 miles - $3,400 to fix Sadly, we sold our other 2021 Tiguan to our son, only to have him encounter the same oil separator issue at less than 90,000 miles. The "executive care" team at VW is an absolute joke. Call center reps tell you they feel your pain, but they make absolutely no effort to actually assist in resolving the situation. The dealerships and online message boards tell you that these problems are rampant, yet VW has not issued a single recall, and they provide zero assistance with repair costs. Oh, and let's not forget that most VW dealers don't have any or very many loaners, so you can add $300+ per week for the rental you'll need while you wait 4-6 weeks for your car to be fixed. "Take the money and run" has apparently replaced more entertaining marketing slogans at Volkswagen. The good news is that you will get more exercise than you ever thought possible, because you'll be walking every time the car breaks down.

Eats oil for breakfast
Always uses 1 quart of oil every 4000 miles. Need to take your eyes off the road to adjust the heat and AC. All doors unlock when you put it in Park which is dangerous in an unknown area.
