My Car - the Two P's

The two P's are plastic and performance ! Yes - the car is fast and does very well on the highway. Its sporty but not flashy - but I love it anyways. The 2.5L motor gets up and goes thru traffic - all for a price which is gas milage... On the highway - from Las Vegas to Loma Linda, CA - less than half a tank (going an average of 80 mph). The car loves 80 and up !!! Handling is another WOW ! I have those sporty tires and rims - makes a big difference !

Fun to drive!

Traded in my '04 Jetta TDI for the '09 model. Had put 103K miles on my previous car. This one seems to be more refined, I had door rattles in my '04 model that couldn't be found by dealer. Torque on the '09 is crazy! Very fun to drive. At hwy speeds, expect ~40 Mpg. If you slow down to 55 ;), you can get 50 Mpg. The MFD display is neat, as it tells you instant and average economy. Love my TDI - and get better mileage when I use B15 BioDiesel! (Ethanol users, eat your hearts out!) -Mike

High maintenance cost

John, 12/31/2018

I have put 100k miles on mine in 7 years and have been satisfied with everything except the maintenance and repair cost. Every car needs work more and then but this car costs a lot to maintain. Regular maintenance can cost 300-600 sometimes at the dealership. Latest repair I had was 2700 to replace the abs module. This was done by a local European car mechanic who told me parts for this car are very expensive. Sounds like I need to get rid of it at this point.

Great TDI, Best MPG out there

Bought this car after it was made legal by Maine EPA. Hands down the best car for the money. Tried out the Prius but my soul would not let me buy such a lifeless piece of plastic. Car handles and drives great. Braking is also very responsive ( sorry Prius owners) My neighbors were blown away when they found out it was a diesel. Car has tons of room. I average 41 and if I drive like a responsible adult I can get high 40's on the highway. Nice thing is I don't have to and I still get better mileage then 99% of cars on the road. Features are adequate for the price. For those looking to buy new, I just saw the TDI CUP version and it is off the charts. Would highly recommend buying a TDI

Loved my Car!!

We purchased this car because we were looking for something that got really good gas mileage but wasn't a hybrid. Ended up getting 32 average mpg city. Just recently got in a car accident and it held up well. No one was seriously injured when our Jetta rearended car in front of it at about 40 mph. I loved this car!
