Used 2000 Volkswagen Jetta Consumer Reviews
Disappointed
Over the course of 4 years I've had many sleepless nights with this car, from the cup holder to the glove compartment to the electrical system. NOTHING BUT TROUBLE. Same year my wife bought a Civic, the Civic has seved us extremely well. This year we kept the Civic but sold the Jetta and got a new 2004 Civic. Will never buy another Volkswagen!!!!!!!!!!!!
everything breaks or gets stolen
Everything inside breaks...glove compartment, rear ash tray, cupholder, and the design of the mirror knob is poor. If there are multiple drivers who are different hights and have to change the mirror, too much handling will break it.

The Oil Consumption King
We had our Jetta GL since May 2000. We babied this car. My wife loved this car. All maintenance was done on time. Then it starts to use oil. It used about 1 quart per 1000 miles! At first I thought it was a fluke. Then I checked the internet for other owners that may have the problem. This seems to be common with the 2.0 Litre engine. I even found a web site that has the Technical Bulletin (provided to dealers from VW)that instructs the mechanic how to deal with complaints of excessive oil consumption.
European perfection.
I own a New Jetta GLS, I drive a lot of miles per month and the car hasn't given me any troubles at all.I love my Jetta and I plan to keep until it doesn't want to run any more...(years and years from now) Fuel economy is excellent I drive from Orlando to Miami with a lot less than a tank of fuel. Styling is just pure European perfection..Europeans definatelly know how to design cars. I just love my car, it is one really good decision that I made. Volkswagen and all European cars are # 1.
My TDI
