We have a 2000 Jetta and a 2001 Golf. They are great! Just great! Quality, design, convenience, features, price, gas milage... We can go on and on and on. They often ask me "is there anything you regret about these cars, there must be something" to a guy like that I say "yes I do regret that I did not buy them much sooner" PERIOD

Great car so far. I fill the tank up maybe twice a month. Interior is lovely. A reviewer was right when he talked about "democratized luxury." This is a nicely appointed, fully featured car for well under 20k. Total cost to own/cost per mile is lower than any of the "similar vehicles" Edmunds offers for review.

This car has been one of the best cars I have ever owned. Being 52 years old I've owned 6 other vehicles in my lifetime, and this one handles exceptionally well, has very adequate seating room and cargo room, has as much power as many gas powered vehicles, and gets 45 miles to a gallon. VW has done a great job for a very reasonable price!

I drove chrysler cirrus and nissan altima before I bought this car.. The only thing I can say is ..what a relief and addictive.

I just bought a GLS a week ago. The check engine light was on 2 days later after I took it home. The dealer said it was caused by loosed fuel tank cap and fixed it. A week later, I added more gas into the tank and tighten the cap, the check engine turn on again just in 1 day. I have to take my car to see dealer for 2nd time in 9 days. I heard that VW would replace the car if the same problem appears in a year/10,000mile, I do wish this is true, but who knows?
