2024 Jeep Compass
Jeep-bashing seems to be a fetish for professional reviewers. What else is new? I recently went from from a GC to the Compass (Limited) and it is definitely a GC Lite. Stellantis recently began cutting prices to boost flagging demand, and my local dealer worked with me for a very fair price.
As Jeep fans know, these are great for snowy, hilly conditions like we have in New England. Why … are all the other brands desperately adding features that Jeep has had for decades? If Jeep is so “bad”, why are others copying them?
Specifically to these criticisms: engine noise is normal, not overwhelming like the review says. Headrest preference makes it fail the comfort test? Please. I tried several competitors, and the only two i really considered were the Chevy Trax and the Ford Escape Hybrid. The Escape was a little more expensive but was a nice ride with some nice touches like adjustable rear seats and a dead-quiet hubrid engine. The Trax was very uncomfortable for me, deal breaker. The equivalent Honda, Toyota, and Mazda models were acceptable but nothing magical. I chose the Jeep and am extremely glad i did. Do your research and test drive everything you can. You might enjoy this Jeep as much as i do.
