2007 Honda S2000
I found a Laguna blue 2007, 73k miles listed on 'True Car' for $18,400 by Alpha Motorsports in Manassas Virginia, just outside DC.
Carfax.... clean title, 2 owners, 2 right front accidents, no air bag deployment. K&N intake and HKS exhaust system, rear factory spoiler.
This was the first time I flew somewhere to look at a car, not knowing the seller or the car, at a dealership. …
Beautiful car, clean, paint and leather seats looked almost prefect, new top, good tires. Took the car for a test drive, then put it up in the air to check the collision repair for any frame damage, no damage found...very clean undercarriage, no rust, wheel bearings all felt good, no engine or transmission leaks, axle boots good. The only problem I found was the car was going to need new brake rotors/pads front and rear in the next 2000 miles. They brought the price down to $18,000.
So I bought the car and drove it back to Florida, non-stop, except for gas,18 hour drive, 912 miles.
I did some upgrades....... slotted and drilled rotors, aluminum radiator, oil cooler, timing chain tensioner, strut bar, Eibach springs, factory lip spoiler, and carbon fiber wrap on some interior trim....Easy to work on, parts are reasonably priced, and it's reliable .....a solid well balanced car,
probably the best all around car I've ever owned, great brakes, handles great, not the fastest car I've owned, but it has a nice balance of power and handling. It's definitely a car that was designed by someone that loved to drive and feel the road.
Update.....
It's 6 years and another 14k miles,, since the purchase of the S2000, and I feel even better about the car. Super reliable, just one minor fix. The radiator temperature sensor died. With an OBD-2 code scanner it was an easy problem to diagnose and fix.
The value for the S2000 keeps going up....So if you're thinking of buying one, don't wait too long!
