Used 2006 Toyota Tacoma Consumer Reviews
Powerful and fun to drive.
Tacoma is great! Bought for weekend fun and family hauler. Leather seats are so comfortable. Best part is it fits in the garage.
There's an old saying
This is my 2nd Toyota truck I've owned. I will soon part w/my T100. I am really enjoying my new Tacoma. It's comfortable and roomy with just the right amount of horsepower.

Close but still not the perfect "10"
After much research through this site, I decided to buy the Tacoma. It seemed to come out on top (or close) with each comparison (e.g. mileage, towing, interior room, styling, and sense of quality. This truck leaves a lasting impression of quality. Gives a solid "thud" when closing the doors (I love that sound!). Good visibility although the rear headrests can be obstructive. Some of the negative areas I have found since ownership is the automatic transmission seems to search around for the right gearing to match your speed. The brakes also seem a little squishy. I haven't towed with the vehicle yet but am cautiously curious about braking performance under load.
Decent Truck
This is just another truck. No better or worse than all the others. I have owned every brand and I have not found a perfect truck yet. Why doesn't anyone complain about the truck being nearly undrivable on windy days? Other trucks are not blown all over the highway on windy days. The engine is great.
06 Tacoma Crew Prerunner LB
I have owned my Tacoma for about 6 weeks and have 3300 miles on it. I shopped all the mid-sizes and bought the right one. I have trailer tow pkg, longbed, side curtain airbags, alloy wheels, and running lights. Controls are friendly, comfort exceptional, handling good. I am a very conservative driver, keep my tires firm, and only can get 18.5-19 mpg hwy. One main reason for buying was mileage and it's not there. Long box is a big plus. I wish the truck had auto-on lights like my old Sonoma had, but other than those two items, I love it. It runs well, rides good, and looks great. Despite the mileage disappointment, I still wouldn't trade for anything else I've seen.
