Disappointing reliability from a new Toyota
Bought new Limited Rav4 last February thinking in Toyota reliability. Willing to pay extra for this reliability. Disappointed already had to take vehicle to dealer on dash sensors and windows tint bubbles. Definitely not the quality one would expect from a Toyota.

Not enough power
Needs a turbo or better yet bring back the 6 cyl engine option. Love to see the Lexis hybrid engine where its a combo electric/gas, not an either or option.

Avoid The Rav 4 Adventure
My story is very similar to many others here. Less than five thousand miles and when the car shifts going between 25 and 30 mph there's a rubber on rubber sound and a jerk. Now its doing the same thing as I brake. Toyota is scheduled to replace the transfer case next week but after reading these reviews I have ZERO confidence this will resolve the issue. Now I'm also concerned about other issues lurking under the hood that haven't presented themselves. I feel sick!

Sputtering and Delayed Response
I've driven Toyota vehicles for 20 years now and this is the first time that I'm not happy with my vehicle. The new engine causing sputtering and delayed reactions. I honestly feel the delayed reactions are dangerous characteristic. It will either not respond or respond to aggressively making you question how to drive your vehicle and putting you in dangerous situations with other drivers. I got the software update and it made a huge improvement for about 30 days and then it slowly started having a lack or response and jerking again.
Toyota 2019 Rav4 AWD, Thumping & bumping
I have owned 3 Rav4's and one Camry in the last 10 years. Each have been perfectly trouble free vehicles, not this 2019 with just 2,000 miles. By profession I am an automotive instructor and this vehicle would scare me into a repair shop with its rough down shifting 8 speed AT and the loud jolting or bumping within the random driveline connect/disconnect . How did this negative condition get by all the road test experts who drove it with out even a whisper or clues such was present? Issues 8 speed transmission sloppy down shifts at random times and a thumping drive line that feels like it is ready to drop the rear driveshaft just as you pull in to park it when going from Drive range to park on the gear selector. Yes the whole car shakes, in fact, I thought someone one had hit me lightly from the rear, until I discovered no one was behind me! Shame on you Toyota, how could you guys have missed such major Issue?
