Waited almost 7 months to pick up a RAV4P XSE w/ Premium at one of my local dealers and was quite happy to get it for MSRP. Originally was going to settle for the SE or XSE with no prem but in the end, the power passenger seat, 360 camera, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and pano roof turned from want to need by significant other. As for drive and performance, we use it primarily for grocery shopping and school drop offs and use no more than 10 miles a day so it works great. Installation of a ChargePoint home charger helps for a quick charge and the hybrid mode helped when we took a 600 mile road trip. Although we were told EV range was 42 miles, we got up to 52 miles per charge which is consistent with other R4P owners that you can get over the 42 miles mark. The RAV4P overall is definitely not a sports car so as long as you do not drive it like one, you won't be disappointed. It has good straightaway speed for highway merging but don’t try to out-handle a Mazda with this!

Bought prime SE 1.5 year ago and put almost 37000 km on it ,filled gas only 6times when driven for longer distances, everyday commute 85 km,runs on EV up to 85km daily even more then company suggests,900 km on full tank as well,no lost of space due to battery located under passenger seat,no emmisison, electricity bill only went up around 20$ a month which nothing compare to 300 gas a month,if I have to I will buy another prime as well,

A Lot to Like with a few missing amenities

Decided future of cars are SUVs, hybrid-plug ins or all electric and loyal to Toyota made cars. So when they announced no longer will make Avalons and used cars selling for high price, I sold my 2012 Avalon Limited and moved to a 2021 royal red rav4 prime SE. Now about the price - given how rare this car is, dealers at least in Northern CA wouldn't budge a penny on price and many charging $5,000-$10,000 above MSRP with nearly every rav4 prime pre-sold before it even arrives on the dealer lot! So thought too much to pay but in the end what convinced me otherwise was discovering CA and federal tax credit/rebates totaling $10,000, a dealer adding 19" premium wheels, an all weather package, sunroof, and automatic power tailgate for $5k above MSRP and having already solar panels installed, knew it wouldn't increase my home electric bill. Now to the car - simply love the exterior color and bold styling - truly a head turner. Enjoy for the first time android auto that Toyota finally installed in 2021, and integrating with Alexa and smart phone music and podcasts. Great to be sitting higher than previous sedans, being nearly 70 years old, wonderful to have so many safety features, find easy to get in and out of drivers seat which is quite comfortable with electronic dials; very powerful engine pick-up, quiet drive, and after one month getting, not published 42 miles on electric charge, but 47 when in eco drive! So what's not to like - well in comparing it to my 2012 Avalon, this SE version which nearly cost twice as much, does not have leather seats, no memory seat settings, no home link garage door opener, no navigation system and the rav4 black interior makes it hard sometimes to find items. But after a few days of missing those small amenities, I'm over it and overall exceedingly happy with purchasing this car. Given current crazy economy and global shortages, glad I found it and grabbed it.

This car thrives on city driving and should do well on highways as well. So quiet. Been running almost exclusively on electric. The needle on gas gauge hasn't budged since we bought it. Use in hybrid sport and the acceleration is fantastic. Can't think of anything to complain about except the lack of production on Toyota's part. If you can find one buy it!

Everything I wanted in a Car!!

The RAV4 Prime is everything I can ever ask for in a car. Living in New York, especially during the winter, I needed a AWD vehicle. Growing up seeing and learning about environmental impact, not only if this car is a hybrid, but its a plug-in electric car that can go 42 miles electric only on a full charge. And this car does 0-to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds! Making this car the 2nd fastest car in Toyota's lineup! (Technically, Toyota's fastest car because the Supra is made by BMW!) Overall, this is Toyota's answer to Electric only vehicle. Electric vehicle may be good and all, but it does have it limitations. Like the range is low compare to the RAV 4 Prime. So with the RAV 4 Prime, you can take it for long road trip. Overall, I am very satisfied with this car. Right now it's difficult to find this vehicle. Your local dealership would be lucky to get one in. But if you do find one, at least try it for a test drive. You will not be disappointed.
