Rav4 Prime is great

I've only had it a week, but so far it's a great car. For most of my driving around town, I'm able to be all electric, getting ~40 miles per charge. It's zippy, too. Better pick-up than I expected. My last car was a 2010, so I'm still getting used to all the inside tech like the back-up camera, lane assist, cruise control that slows you down if needed, and the touch screen. Charging is easy in my garage - the cable is plenty long to reach the outlet. The one tiny thing I can imagine might bug me in the future is getting my hands dirty packing up the charging cable for long trips. Overall - I'm thrilled to have gotten my hands on this vehicle.

Beat Value Ever!

After driving my Rav4 XSE premium I can say it is the best of the 32 cars I have owned over the past 52 years. I have owned or driven every major non-exotic brand both domestic and imported. This car far exceeds my expectations. I thought my boss 302 was fast, not compared to this. Toyota's legendary quality and dependability plus cutting edge safety systems, technology, comfort, the amazing power with great MPG and MPGe pushes this car to the top of the vehicle choices for 2021. The available tax rebates make it an even better value. This is the fourth Rav4 in our family since 2006. We have a 2006 4cyl., 2009 and 2011 V6's, and now this. They are all still in the road with mileage from 90,000 to 275,000. This one is the cream of the crop. I just love it.

Having done extensive research on cars all my life, and having owned many, this latest purchase to replace the Prius Prime Advanced that I loved had to be a tech stunner. It is. The 2021 RAV 4 PRIME XSE (one of the first to arrive on this Coast) has everything I want and much more. The Prius was the mileage champ for a plug-in hybrid but did not have AWD, a spare, excellent ground clearance and ALL the newest safety tech (it did have a lot though). This new RAV 4 hits all the marks and, with over 300 HP and a $7500 Federal Tax Credit (and FAST charging capability) and over 40 miles EV mode (which is the majority of my driving and fuel is free with my solar panels), what more could I want with a range of over 500 miles on a tank in straight driving. Comfy, Apple CarPlay, Alexa, XM, camera everywhere, auto front AND rear cross traffic auto stop plus every other imaginable safety feature and reasonable luxury. A winner for sure. Now to have a 240v line brought into the garage to charge it in 2-1/2 hours! It has now been two years since I received this great SUV and I am happier than ever. ZERO cost of maintenance so far, no problems at all. One of the best tech features is the ACC, which I use all the time and at all speeds. I like this so much I've taken a 7 year extended warrantee because I'm going to keep it - and I'd bet that I'll never need it.

I bought this car last March through a NY dealer as they were not sold in Texas. I am very happy with it. I charge it overnight every several days after using the 47-48 miles of electric power. I don’t have to buy gas at all unless I make a road trip. But I have made several trips to Florida (1150 miles). On my trips I get 42.7 mpg, which is exceptional for a SUV. It is a comfortable car with little road noise. It also performs well on dirt roads and bumps and provides good visibility for my birdwatching. One thing I have noticed, it will steer itself for short distances then the auto steering cuts out with a warning to put your hands back on the wheel. However, you do notice it wants to steer when you are on the highway in cruise control.so you feel that you are fighting it a bit. It is a comfortable car to drive overall, with good pickup, a good turn radius and a quiet motor. Overall, I love this car and I think it is a good solution for my driving. I do wish some of the hotel chains had plug-ins so I could start each day with the electric motor. I think this availability should be part of a modern hotel!

Don't buy Have had car since December. Currently 2500 miles been to the dealership 4 times. Hybrid systems failures. Fuel system failures fuel guage failure. Fuel pump Had to replace fuel tank. And canister. Poor design would not indicate full when full. Headlight failures message. When working. Three hybrid failures. Convertor grounding issues.took three weeks to get parts Cooling valve failure. Car is still at the dealership. Latest they want to return the vehicle to me because these failures are under investigation and Toyota does not have a solution. Total miles 2500. Would wait till next year's model. Dealership has no training to work on these and no replacement parts. Everything has to come from Japan Waited 5 months to get this car so far a complete disaster.
