One OUTSTANDING Vehicle!

2014 Toyota RAV4 EV
I bought my new Toyota RAV4 EV at Toyota of Palo Alto in late December 2014. I had a slight hesitation because it only had a range of about 100 miles. It's very peppy and fun to drive, though. It is extremely versatile and has tremendous torque! One thing I think people don't realize is that most of us don't drive more than about 50 miles in a typical day. This being the case, I've found … the range limitations of this car to be immaterial. It's a perfect car for my daily around town errands and even does longer trips into nearby Los Angeles with no difficulty. I now have about $105,000 miles on the car and I estimate that I've saved around $12,000 that hasn't gone to gasoline purchases (I have solar electricity on my home.) The car has been almost maintenance free. It does need tires about every 40,000 miles and I did replace the 12-volt battery once. Oh yea, and Toyota replaced the motor and tranny due to engine whine at around 45,000 miles (under warranty.) So overall, it's been one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. I can't bring myself to sell it because (so sad) Toyota isn't making a decent all electric replacement yet. Alas, I'll keep waiting to see if they can get their act together. This car is a gem and I feel so lucky to own it!
