16 months of ownership so far...
This is the best car I have ever owned. I had a VW Jetta Diesel with 200K on it but it was in the shop for eletrical stuff all the time. So I wanted regular gas car with diesel type mileage PLUS a back seat for the grandkids. The Prius fits the bill. Gas is 75 cents per gallon or more cheaper. I now have 28800 miles in it. On weekend trips I get low 50's mpg at 70mph & higher if I go 60 mph. Overall I have averaged combined MPG of 49.9. When I fill up it's $26. I take a ferry to work & it is nice to sit in a car with the AC or heater on & the engine not running. I carried my Garmin GPS for back up but the Prius GPS works great.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly - 2013 vs. 2010
Recently upgraded from 2010 to 2013. It's the same car with a couple small new features. Everything I liked about 2010 model is still here, as is everything I hated. Overall, Prius is a decent car, but it's only worth the price tag if you will drive it A LOT.

Wish I could be in a Prius commercial!!!
My experience as a Prius owner would be a great advertisement for Toyota! I owned a 2013 Prius with the solar panel sunroof, which worked amazingly well at maintaining the interior temperature to be no hotter than the exterior temperature, even during Atlanta 95+ degree Fahrenheit Atlanta summers. I received 54 mpg the 1st year of driving it on highways and around town and consistently received 50-52 mpg over the next 4 1/2 years of similar driving. My Prius did not have any mechanical issues whatsoever; I've read that brakes last to over 200k. My Prius was hit by deer on three different occasions; it ran out of gas twice, and the battery went dead once only because one of my children accidentally left the trunk open slightly all night and half of the following day. I was able to jump=start the battery after reading the owner's manual and watching a YouTube video. Sadly, after my Prius being hit by a huge buck during the third deer incident, my insurance company "totaled" it out due to the estimated repairs being greater than the estimated value. The insurance company had no idea of the true value of my Prius. It was the most reliable car I've owned over the course of about 38 years of driving. I miss my beloved 2013 Prius...may it RIP! The only minor complaint I've had is that the hub caps fall off easily. They're very lightweight and I see quite a lot of Prius models on the road with missing hubcaps. I Other than that issue, it's the best reliable car and a super saver on gas.

New to use 2013 Prius
Actually bought this car for three reasons: great gas mileage, the wife liked the color and the price. Not that impressed with the whole hybrid business but it seems we need to move in that direction and Toyota is a great product/brand. Driven daily for work about 60 miles a day. 45 mpg at highway speeds.

We love it
We had a 2004 Prius before and loved it but traded it in for a new car which we liked not loved. Then we tried 4 other cars which we liked. Always thought about the Prius. We finally came back and we love it and we are keeping it.
