Used 2017 Toyota Corolla LE 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl CVT) Consumer Reviews
Solid car, but not much fun to drive
Pros: Superb headlights with every even and bright illumination; tight fit and finish, very solid construction; low operating cost. Cons: If you want to know what it feels like driving a coffin this is it! Very dark claustrophobic interior, poor outward visibility; noisy at speed; poor straight line stability; persistent and irritating understeer. Boring exterior design. Some very hard and sharp plastic in the wrong spots that really will hurt you.

Stay Away!!!
We were in the market for a new car recently. We thought we would give a Toyota a try. 14 days after purchasing a 2017 Corolla LE driving down a 45 mph street under traffic with with my 4 year old in the backseat and my pregnant wife in the front seat the car died. The electronics stayed on but pushing the gas pedal did nothing. I put on my flashers, coasted to a stop, put it in park and the car restarted. Luckily we didn't get rear ended and we are safe. The car we replaced was a 2002 Civic which had no issues like this over 15 years of owning it. Monday I will be calling the dealer to see what they can do. A new car 14 days off the lot with 350 miles should not have these types of issues.

They should not have changed it
My family has enjoyed the use of a 1998 Corolla that was purchased new. For the past eighteen years and more than 235,00 miles, problem free driving was ours with only routine scheduled maintenance. Two weeks ago we decided to purchase a new Corolla. We test drove the 2017 Corolla. The lack of comfort and the level of road noise in "that cabin", as compared to what we had become accustomed to in our 1998 model was no small matter. The noise especially, was so annoying that we decided to purchase a Camry after giving one a test drive that very same day. I had learned from the sales manager that a lot of owners of our generation Corolla had decided to upgrade to a new Camry instead of repeating their purchase of a new Corolla after test driving the new Corolla. The manager also mentioned that Toyota made certain design changes between the model years that probably contributed to the issues we had with the new Corolla.

Meh
I bought this car new, but traded it in about six months later. It wasn't a horrible car, but we upgraded to a bigger Camry. Where this car shines is it's feature list. This year came standard with radar guided cruise control, collision braking, and lane departure assist. Rear seat room was plentiful for a small car. The worst part about the vehicle was the CVT. You have to stand on the gas pedal to get on the highway. It's a good thing that the engine is rev-happy because you will need to make it scream in order to get any power out of it. This obviously has a negative effect on fuel economy, I got 26 mpg on average. There was a recall on the CVT and there have already been reports of premature failures which doesn't surprise me at all. The ride as a passenger can be nauseating, and road noise is downright atrocious. You might be able to improve upon this if you chuck those garbage Continental tires in the bin. Highway passing power is adequate though, the transmission does do a good job of keeping the engine in the power band while on the highway. I might sound hypercritical about this car, but it does have strong points. The interior quality is nice for the class, the audio quality from the speakers is excellent, the infotainment is idiot-proof and easy to operate (don't expect apple carplay or android auto). I still feel like you get a lot for your money. It is overall far better than the Sentra. It has more room, better reliability, and more standard features than the Cruze. The Corolla will also hold it's value better than a bargain basement Hyundai or Kia, and you will receive more aftermarket support. I do think the Honda Civic would be a better buy. If you are looking for one, look for an ex-rental. They are usually heavily marked down and would make a great starter vehicle or just a cheap work car.

Corolla review 123
One thing kept us from considering this car. The visibility out the back was very poor due to the high rear seat headrests.
