Excellent compact car
This car is much better than expected. Build quality is excellent, it looks good, handles well, has good enough power, relatively quiet and smooth driving even at freeway speed. The MPG is outstanding. The hatchback practicality is good, but yes, the rear seats are cramped, so not ideal for more than 2 adults other than short rides in town. The 2023 has some improvements, mostly the infotainment. Several features work well including active cruise control and auto high beam. The SE trim is a good sweet spot for value and features, and avoids the higher price and ultra low profile tires on the XSE.

2021 Corolla hatchback se special edition
Extremely happy with this vehicle. Reliable , dependable, looks awesome , very fun to drive , the cvt just cruises on the highway, handling makes it fun flying around corners, Apple car play , nice touch screen, led headlights and tail lights. Excellent gas mileage , Toyota quality and reliability. If you’re looking for a car this size there is absolutely no other option. I seriously have no complaints, get a Toyota Corolla hatchback - you’ll be happy you did.

Fun car!
All components and assembly are made in Japan. Very easy handling and stylish. Decided to put roof racks instead of rear window spoiler (too sporty and hot the eyes of vandals). I was afraid that it will be too cramped but surprisingly it has a nice head room (I'm 5-9) unlike the CHR. Still low on ground clearance so it takes more effort to get out from.
Great
Traded in a 2014 Mini Cooper Countryman S that was starting to cost to much to run. Actually ordered a new Mini and then decided this was a smarter choice plus it's $14k cheaper! Corolla is still made in Japan and it shows with the build quality (reminds me of my 4runner). Would not of considered this vehicle if it didn't come w/a manual. The manual is like butter and makes the car much more enjoyable/fun. The jury is still out on the iMT feature. I don't need help with my shifting and fortunately you can turn it off (and it stays off). Cars size is about as small as I would go. In fact, my Countryman had more room inside except for the rear cargo area. I love that this has a spare tire, but make sure the Corolla you buy has one. Toyota has an option for a lower rear cargo floor and it removes the spare. I bought the SE as I didn't see much value in going w/XSE trim. You don't get any more performance from spending more money and 18" rims on this car is overkill. The OEM tires are pure garbage and actually designed for Mitsubishi's electric car. Put a set of sticky tires on it and go have fun! Great lil' runabout and you can't beat cheap fun. One of the last few cheap imports to still have a bit of a soul. I will miss my Mini, but resale and reliability are more important than style these days :-) UPDATE 12/14/2021- Sold it as it was no longer needed. I will say I got tired of the weak engine. Driving it floored all the time was not much fun. Also, hitting my head getting things out of the rear seat was getting old. Car is fine for a small person, but that's about it. It did handle and ride well. Sold it used for more than I paid new...thanks Covid!

Amazing little beast
This car is a gem. The 6-speed shifts like a dream. Excellent acceleration for its HP/Torque range and so comfortable for front passengers under 6’. Yes, cargo space is limited in the back and so are the rear seats BUT you should recognize and accepted this before buying it. Has the legendary Toyota 2.0 i4 masterpiece of an engine that is proven and projected to last 300k+ miles assuming YOU do your part. One of the Best small commuter cars out there that is nearly half the price of avg brand new vehicles. LOVE.
