Purchased a XSE V6 (after considering Lexus ES, Audi S and BWM 4). The pictures do the car no justice-this is a beautiful looking vehicle in person. As such, I've gotten quite a few stares and inquiries as people try to figure out what kind of car it is, and there is a healthy dose of incredulity when I tell them its a Camry. And that's just the exterior. I have the Cockpit Red interior and it really sets the car off-it's WELL DONE. And it fits me well at 6'/280#, I'm as comfortable in this as I was in my 2008 Toyota Avalon XLS. I agree with the editorial review about the technology layout and functionality, and concur that the interior storage space is on the anemic side. The engine has just enough power to motivate you wherever you need to go when you need to get there without being petro-hungry. The 8-speed transmission will take some getting use to, and the handling and ride quality are great, what you would expect with 19" wheels with VR-rated rubber. The engine and exterior noise complaints aren't really an issue when the JBL Premium audio is on, so unless you are driving in silence, you won't notice it. Overall, I give the 2018 Toyota Camry XSE V6 a solid 4-star rating.

Regret came after 1st maintenance

I fell in love with the body of the car, but the primary reason of purchase was the great financing Toyota offered me. It was a no brainer so I purchased the 2018 Camry XSE V6 back in Jan. I drove the car mainly in eco mode, but every now and then, when I felt like having a lil fun, Id put it in sport and barely give it a little gas and it had amazing torque. I recently took the car in for the 1st maintenance and everything changed after that! I can no longer drive the car in eco, unless Im in traffic and don't need to drive past 20 mph. Normal mode now feels like how the old eco drove and sport mode is a complete joke. It has ZERO torque now. I took the car back and talked to 3 different supervisors who looked at me like I was crazy saying all we did was do a tire rotation and top off your fluids. I had their lead tech drive my car who did not notice anything and "ran some tests". He came back and said nothing is showing up and there is nothing wrong with your car. I told the supervisor to have his tech drive a new car and then drive mine again. He did and still did not admit to any difference. When he stepped on gas in sport mode with the new car, I pointed out to him thats the torque that my car now lacks. In the end, he concluded it was the gasoline I was using...I use the same gas from the same station for years so this was highly unlikely to be the issue in my mind. So far, I have went through 2 more tanks of gas and still no improvements, that very clearly is not the issue here. I am furious that I had zero issues with acceleration before taking it to Toyota and am now left with a slow car that does not change gears properly. I hear the torque but don't feel it, I have even floored it and it did nothing! The other issue I have is seatbelt in the back, when the arm rest goes down in the back, it throws off the seatbelt sensors and everyone in the car has to unbuckle and re buckle to turn the alarm off. I am very dissapointed since this is the first car I have ever purchased and I will never buy a Toyota ever again!

Love most of my Camry...

I’ve driven Toyotas for years and have encountered very few problems. My dealer, Cain Toyota, in Canton, Ohio is reliable and the sales and service departments are great. I love my 2018 Camry XLE—EXCEPT for the Entune, the GPS and the hands-free phone. Toyota obviously kept “ improving” until they successfully screwed up the technology. No one can help me...I can’t use the hands-free phone because of horrible feedback. No matter how many times I log in, I keep “waiting” for Entune to connect. I am terribly frustrated.

This review is based on the XSE V6. Things I like: (1) Interior and exterior styling, I have the Celestial grey with the black piano top and red leather (2) Performance, 301 horsepower and 8 speed are awesome in sport mode (3) safety features, camera view and pre-collison are great (4) value, for just under $40K this is money well spent (5) Toyota reliability. Suggested improvements (1) driver memory seat (2) some cabin finishes look cheap, USB and 12 volt area (3) in econ mode transmission is jerky at low speeds. If you want a spirited driving experience with good tech features get the V6.

Wish I would have gotten an Accord! The Entune 3.0 with JBL sucks. The whole toyota app suite sucks.. The carpet and floor mats are super cheap for car costing almost 40K my Hyundai has WAY better.
