We purchased our 2007 Camry LE new. We were so excited to purchase a "Toyota." Right from the start, we have had nothing but trouble, recalls, unsupported recalls (engine oil burning), and cruddy dealer care. Our car currently sits with the wonderful melting Toyota dashboard; we've been waiting for 8 months for the dealer to replace it (another recall). We think we've had 9-10 recalls. What a joke! Sinc e 75,000, the engine has been burning oil. At about 105,000, it started slurping 3 qts, every 5,000, and this continues to date. Toyota was ridiculous about the piston ring recall that was supposed to address the oil slurping. They put us and others through a bunch of junk and then deny the repair. That and the melting dashboard were the last straws for us. We take meticulous care of our vehicles and drive them very judiciously. In 45 years of car ownership, we have never owned a car with this much trouble and this level of lousy customer care. No more Toyota for us. We definitely got bamboozled on the Cam-Ray! In our estimation, it is a highly over-rated car. We cannot wait to get rid of it. We will hope for the best with another brand.

Comparing it to my 00 and 04 Camry, there is no comparison. If this was the first Camry that we bought it certainly would be the last. The transmission hesitates, also downshifts, hunting between gears, then lurches (safety issue). This is all very very annoying especially when the dealer tells you that this is "NORMAL" operation. I wish I had my 2004 4 cyl Camry back, I would have given it a 10 review.

I purchased this car for my wife to drive to work about 160 miles round trip. She put many miles on it with virtually no problems except we replaced the radiator at about 140K miles. The car had some recalls Mats, dash pad, oil use but all were addressed by Toyota. My wife was broken hearted when she was T-Boned in an intersection by a Chevy Silverrado doing over 45 and she survived. We bought another Toyota from Deluca Toyota where we were tricked into buying a car with a bad Carfax. So these bunch of liars called salesmen sold us a wrecked car but a nice car. I tried to get them to lower the value of the car because it was wrecked and they just kept lying and jerking us around. The salesman told us the Carfax was clean but turned out it wasn't and they didn't make it good. Bad dealer ! 10/10/2018- Even though we had a bad experience with the dealer our 2014.5 Toyota is a beautiful luxury ride. The XLE is packed with features and good looks. We feel it's safe, reliable, comfortable, and a good value for the money and it has a disk player !

I bought my Camry new back in 2006. I now have over 103,000 miles on this car and it is still going strong with barely any problems. I fixed all recall issues which include the floor mat and break pedal they were simple fixes. My water pump does need to be replaced. I already purchased the part and it will only cost $180.00 to have it put on. If you go to the dealer it will cost a little more. Other than that just regular, on time maintenance is all that is needed to properly maintain this car. Even though my husband is an aggressive driver it still has held up. Out of the four cars I've owned the Camry is the most reliable.

My wife and I purshased a Camry 2007 LE 2.4L today and to it through rigorous testing. I'm extremely empressed. No leaks, riding 30mph and slamming on the breaks, no slush under the oil cap, transmission oil was good and clean, shocks good, no signs of CV and shock wear, then took it on the freeway and tested its power and it's really impressive. Then we took it to our mechanic and he said it's a winner. The only 3 MINOR issues is that in the future sometime the front engine mounting block will need replacing, which is a quick, easy and coat effective job to do. Then the brakes have a slight judder, but that's with all likelihood because of rust or dirt on the break disks which is also cost effective to change, and lastly sometimes theres a slight in pulling away from a stop after depressing the accelerator down (maybe only 1 second delay). I've read some reviews that camry's may have that issue. It doesn't do it all the time, and all those issues are minor for a car 13 years old. It only had 89k miles on the odometer, and was involved in 2 minor reported "accidents" previously, a side sweep and a slight dinghy from the front where the bumper was changed. One of the previous reviews on this site said that the engine just blew. That doesn't just happen. Some previous owner may have neglected services and I highly doubt it was just a manufacture fault. Toyota's are easy to maintain and cost effective. Hopefully this one will last us a long time. Will update in the future.
