Bought 2023 Model Y 6 months back. Put in almost 10 K miles. Love the Auto/Drive - Steer. - Which come with all cars standard feature Drive 250 Mile round trip home to office. Music system is very good. Technology is amazing. Storage - amazing more than my RX350. Frunk and trunk. Only complaint some build issues, Door alignments, Window seals etc. Does not bother me much as long as tesla corrects it during warranty. Have taken few road trips lot of fun. Superchargers no issues at all very seamless. Went up Mt washington was a breeze. Coming down made back all energy used going up. Will buy tesla again when buying next car. All issues are resolved. Love the car. Amazing fsd. Almost 30 k miles in 18 mos.

Autopilot is a joke

I have been driving my Tesla Model Y for a few months. When I first got it last year, I was very impressed by the Autopilot feature. But the recent update completely ruined it. It will constantly (every 5 to 10 seconds) remind you to put hands on the steering wheel. If you try to change a radio channel or look on the screen for more than 3 seconds, the red warning box will come up treating you as a scuflaw. Today I received a warning saying my autosteer got suspended for a week due to my recent driving behavior, even though I didn't receive any forced disengagement. Tesla and its software have become a joke. If I had known the autosteer features could be so badly ruined by updates, I would have bought a BMW X5e instead.

DONT BUY- Car's nav and Cams dont Work

I just bought the car a month ago. My experience with the Tesla Model Y has been deeply disappointing due to critical safety issues encountered in cold weather. When the temperature dropped to 18 degrees Fahrenheit, my car's cameras completely froze, rendering the navigation system useless and making it extremely dangerous to back up – a significant concern given the vehicle's size and limited visibility. This lack of functionality creates a serious safety hazard. I contacted Tesla immediately and was told to simply schedule a service appointment, the earliest of which is three weeks out. This is unacceptable for such a serious issue. While I appreciate the technological advancements of the Model Y, its inability to function safely in cold weather is a major flaw that needs immediate attention. Additionally, I cannot back up safely since the back is so bulky, and the visibility is nearly 0 ... They do not have standard apps like Apple Connect. I will try to sell this car. The Billionaire does not care about little things like this that happen to his customers. |

Tesla Model Y: Overhyped junk / appalling service

RZ 450e in DC, 08/22/2024
2024 Tesla Model Y Long Range 4dr SUV AWD (electric DD)

Suckered by the hype, I leased a Tesla Model Y and it was a nightmare experience: Trashy ride quality — rides like it has no shocks; range is a lie — got 110 miles in winter, 180 miles in summer with HVAC use. Slightly better on highways at 220 miles but still far short of the 300+ miles claimed. 12V battery failed with no warning, and it took Tesla TWO weeks to dispatch someone to replace it. Unlike most cars, the hood is not manual and when the battery dies, you have to Jerry rig it open but in my case, Tesla failed to properly wire the batteries at the factory so they had to drill holes to get it to open. Then the HVAC failed followed by the trunk strut failing; Wiring harness fired. In all, I spent over $3000 in car rentals while Tesla got around to repairing the various problems. Dumped it and got the Lexus RZ 450e and am getting 275 miles to 400 miles range in city driving. The ride quality, tech and safety features of the Lexus blow away the Model Y. Took it on a road trip from DC to NYC and it beat the Tesla in range and efficiency. Could even charge it a Tesla Supercharger. Lexus is offering huge discounts on the RZ (got mine for $43,000) and its the best EV on the market. Disregard the critics, just drive one after you drive a Model Y and you’ll see how far behind Tesla has fallen Lexus in EVs. My second favorite was the Cadillac Lyriq but it makes an annoying pedestrian warning sound at speeds below 25 MPH which kills the silent EV experience. Check out my full review of the Lexus RZ 450e on Edmunds (posted under my handle: RZ 450e in DC)
