Tesla Model 3 - the bomb!!

This was my best ever car purchase! I could not wait to never have to go wait in line for gas again or pay the prices for supporting the oil industry and its environmental and public health impacts. This car will exceed anyone's expectations. It is the future. Value beyond the price and the price is competitive anyway against other "high end" cars. Had ours for just shy of 10K miles and no issues at all. Need to get used to managing a car via computer screen and icons but we already to that on phones, so no big deal. Spectacular fit and finish! Go for the white interior, its amazing - and no it doesn't stain!! easily cleans with normal cleaners and but feels just like leather. I won't ever have to do a brake job since regenerative braking is the best! And when you can plug in and charge at home while you sleep, you will always have a "full tank"! 320 miles takes you a long way in normal around town driving (you can't and don't ever drive that far in a day). So no range anxiety there. Long drives? Tesla Superchargers are everywhere and getting more and faster every year! Long drives the car will plan your stops for you at the most efficient locations along your route. Charging as Supercharger (V2 or V3) will only take about 15 minutes, just enough time to hit a restroom, get a drink or snack, stretch, and talk to other Tesla owners about their experiences! And you're back on the road in no time. Only maintenance is filling tires with air, and windshield wiper fluid. So simple. And on road flat tire service is pretty impressive even compared to AAA. They bring a full size spare and swap it and you drive to the station and they fix and swap back your original! FREE or covered by insurance anyway! And unless you race high performance cars, guaranteed you have not had such an amazing performance drive ever. No fears getting onto a freeway or merging ever. Watch speed limits though, too easy to hit 80+ in the time you usually take to get to 60mph. And have fun surprising your non-Tesla friends with an acceleration "test"!! Make sure you are in a safe area without children or pets for those tests though!! Auto wipers when it rains, auto high/low beam lights, great backup cameras, and security camera systems built in! Your phone or a card are the only "key" you ever need. And then the entertainment systems built in are way beyond any other car. You may have a hard time ever leaving the car! And the room for people and storage, wow! Fold the back seats down and carry 8 ft boards or anything; even sleep in the back if you want! And that still leaves the "Frunk" and storage in the back trunk area. It will probably be the most quiet car you've ever experienced as well. And the full glass roof provides view on views when you drive in scenic locations or want to check the moon out! Adjusting the seats and steering wheel are incredible for any size and shape person almost. And you can set it up to help get in and out of the car, then it will reset automatically back to your personal driving positions! And it will remember each drivers' position by name!! And all safety bells and whistles (really) you could expect. IF you choose the self driving option, even more amazing and it keeps getting better! If I could give this car 7 Stars I would happily. Do not hesitate if you are in the price range of this car; if you like/need midsize SUV style, now you have an option in the Model Y too!

Crappy service

My 3 months old Tesla model 3 was locked out. The car had to be towed and service center people had to literally break in to the car. I was told that it is their internal security model issue that was wired incorrectly. And while breaking into the car, they broke the right passenger front window control panel. And from the time I got my car from service center, I hear rattling sound and the air gush while driving. The service center technician tells me that it is the normal characteristic of the car. The rattling sound is the normal characteristic of a luxurious car? I am shocked. Service center technicians cannot fix it. I had Toyota for over a decade, but still my car had good shock absorbers and good drive. I expected pleasant drive and much more than the regular car with Tesla. On top of it, Tesla does not have a support number/customer service number. I do not recommend Tesla.

Voice Commands for almost everything

2020 Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus 4dr Sedan (electric DD)

I have owned the car for just over a month, and have driven it almost 5,000 miles. Originally, I used the touchscreen to override the automatic wipers and to adjust the climate control and various other tasks, but recently I discovered that all these can be done with voice commands of your own choosing. You don’t have to memorize these commands; you just say what you want and the computer can typically understand regardless of how you say it. For example: “Blow air to the left”, or “Set air speed to 6”, or “Set driver temperature to 70”, or “turn wipers on”, etc. This had been my one complaint about driving this car. The range, the ability to accurately predict remaining charge on arrival, the supercharger system, the climate control and heating capacity, the cabin vision, the Autopilot, the trunk capacity, the leg space, the build quality, the touchscreen and connectivity features, the leg room, and of course the performance....all great. There is some cabin noise, but it doesn’t bother me, though reportedly it has been dampened for vehicles coming off the line now (along with numerous other improvements like motorized trunk, heat pump, heated steering wheel, slightly better range, and some aesthetic modifications). I drove a Nissan LEAF for 5 years before getting the Tesla, and while it was a great car for commuting it was unable to handle long trips, and it had poor climate control (air temperature was too cool for the extremely cold weather we experience where I live (sometimes minus 30 Fahrenheit), incapable of predicting remaining charge, and extremely basic (which is fine for the basic car that it is).

Tech in this car is phenomenal! However, the cabin insulation could be improved. At highway speeds, there is noticeable wind and road noise.

Terrible Terrible Terrible

My friend and I were excited to buy our new Tesla (2020 Model 3). However, when we went to pick it up (drove 45 minutes), we waited over two hours before they told us that the car wasn’t there. We then had to wait five days before it arrived. We purchased an adapter to allow the car to charge faster. The sales person there insisted that it was the right one. However, it did not fit the receptacle and found out on the web that we needed a different one. We tried calling Tesla to find out how we could exchange the adapter, but it was nearly impossible to get through to someone. We finally got someone on the phone and two people assured us that if we take it back to the place where we picked up the car and purchased the adapter, they would reimburse us. So we drove another 45 minutes merely to find out that they would not refund us for the adapter. The sales person there recommended that we sell it on Ebay. So not only was it frustrating getting a hold of customer service, but we were also lied to. Our general experience is that after the sale of the car, Tesla no longer cares about its customers. It is nearly impossible to get an answer from them for any service. Employees are misinformed and not helpful. We recommended Tesla to friends but after our customer service debacle they are changing their minds and are now considering competitive EVs that are slowly gaining ground on Tesla.
