My Wife Wanted a Reliable AWD Car
My wife loves the car and she routinely receives compliments from others regarding the styling. From my point of view (husband) the car has been ideal for her as she loves to bird watch and takes the car off highway quite routinely. Also we have had zero problems with the vehicle. This is the second Suzuki we have owned; the first was the Suzuki XL7 but as our kids grew up and moved out we downsized. We recently took the SX4 from Mapleton Utah to Seattle and the ride was comfortable and without incident traveling 75 to 80MPH averaging 28MPG.

Well built car
Bought this car brand new in January 2009 and owned ever since. The following are the only problems I have had in 6 + years: Year 2: Change radio; CD player sticking (warranty). Year 3: Change power steering pump (made noise) and warranty. Year 6: Change water pump $350 for part and labor. Year 7: Changed wiper arm $80 Year 8: Nothing Year 9: Changed tie rods, idle arms $1,000 150,000 miles.

over 100,000 and not a problem!
I purchased this little car in June on 2008. I drive from Maine to Boston to work over 160 miles at a time. Thankfully I have never had a single problem with the car and I am on only my second set of tires with lots of tread to go. I have put on one set of brake pads and done a lot of oil changes, but that is all. Gas mileage is about 27mpg, but I must say I do not always follow the speed limits! I just read with a different air filter it may increase my mpg, so I'm going to give it a try. Great in the snow and reliable, low maintainance, and room enough for most everything but a sheet of plywood!! :) No complaints here! (ok one, I wish the gas tank were bigger!)
Great Choice!
I purchased the SX4 Hatchback in 2008 and was looking for a sporty little hatchback that was also good in the snow and reliable. I've owned Honda's, Toyota's and Nissan's over the years, and each had good and bad points. Was curious about the Suzuki - it's funny looking and different, which always appeals to me, and was one of the rare cars that has AWD and a manual transmission. Plus it came with auto climate control, keyless electronic entry, rear window and mirror defrost, auto wipers, cruise control, tire pressure sensors, adjustable tilt steering wheel and surround sound stereo system for under $18k with the top package. I've owned it for 10 years, and it has been the best car with the lowest maintenance costs I've ever owned. Only one dealer recall issue with a sensor in the passenger seat for the air bag sensing which was replaced without issue. Other than that, I've had the tires replaces, had to replace and upgrade the stereo, and regular oil changes and other regular maintenance. One big benefit is that this car has a timing chain, not a timing belt, so you don't have to have it replaced!

Best car I've ever owned out of 23 cars!
First brand new car I have ever bought. The few problems I have had have all been covered under warranty. (New fuel pump, spoiler coming off, and a leaking strut. Other then that the car has performed flawlessly! With the drive by wire you have to reset the throttle a few times to get it just right for it to program itself to the way drive. I currently have 18,000 miles on it and have almost 50% of the tread left on the factory tires. I have them rotated every 5k miles & they work & sound almost the same as the day I purchased the car. I average 27 mpg on mountain freeway driving at an average 75 mph, at 55 mph on the same 187 mile route I got 35 mpg. It performs awesome in the snow!
Cars a Jackpot for a low price!
Extremely reliable car. I am a student and I have had the car for two years now. Mileage count at this point is 129K. I commute for about 100 miles a day for college and work and never had any problems with the car. The engine and transmission run great. The car is economical in terms of gas mileage, gives me around 25 city and 31 highway. If you can maintain the car well (by the way it does not require much maintenance except for oil changes and tire rotations) it will run forever. PROS: Reliability, Gas Mileage, Performance, Handling, Roomy Interiors. CONS: None that I can think of for a 2008 budget car but having a arm rest, Bluetooth or a AUX port would have been a plus for me.

Tough, economical car back roads and city traffic
The 2.0 liter engine with manual 5-speed is snappy and responsive. Drop it into 4th on the highway and you have plenty of passing power. On back roads, it clings to gravel and dirt, and it handles great in snow (assuming you actually know how to drive in snow). This car has walked through mud, snow, tall weeds, and easily navigates city streets (drove it through downtown Chicago with ease). The newer six-speeds lack the snap and downshifting is finicky, so I'll be keeping my 5-speed rather than trading up. Best car in its class, especially for the money.
after 8years I still don't have a reason to trade
I bought my 2008 SX4 new and in 2016 and 85K miles... My car is still running strong. The car is a beast in the snow... I work in healthcare and we don't get snow day. I've been tempted lately to trade the car in but really don't have a good reason... The only thing I had to replace where tires, brake pads and rotors. This is the best car I ever owned... Love my SX4.

2008 Suzuki
I purchase this car right after my divorce in 2010. I was only planning on owning for a year or two. 6 years later I still have it. The only time it left me stranding is with a dead battery. I have only have to do routine repairs. The only exception new front struts at $500 at 105,000. The car now has 109,000 and everything still works. Air still blows cold. My only complaint is now parts are somewhat hard to find and fuel economy is a little low for a car of it's size. I average 25 but do very little highway driving.

Three years strong...
Bought it used, and I've had my SX4 for just shy of 3 years, and have had no mechanical issues. It will reach 80k miles this month, and the only things I've done are replaced the tires and front brake pads, plus the regular 30k services and oil changes. Love the keyless ignition and entry, love the fuel range module (I get an average of 27mpg, up to 40 on road trips), love how I sit in it and that the windshield doesn't feel like it's too close to my forehead. :) The only issue I have is the suspension--feels like it needs stabilization when I hit bumps on corners. It rides nice, however, and feels very safe in all other conditions. Never had any problems on snow or ice. :)
Love My Cute Lil Car
I bought her brand new and now she has 58,000. She is garage kept and has her regular maintenance. I've never had any major issues. I believe there were 2 or 3 recalls which the dealership fixed right up with no problems. One of the dash lights where there gas gauge is located died about 2 years after I got her but it wasn't worth the price to pay to have it fixed, I can see the gauge with no problem so that never became a real problem. She is super fun to drive, so much so my husband likes to drive her on the weekends. She's zippy, easy to handle, small enough to fit just about anywhere but yet it's roomy enough to fit a bike in the back with the back seats down. The AWD is great, we live in Central Florida and get lots of rain and I've always felt safe. My teenage daughters learned to drive in my car and have always felt comfortable. If I could I would buy a newer model but for now I will stick with my lil baby. When I see her in the parking lot I still think she looks so cute, sporty and fun. Mine is pearl white and has tinted windows which makes it look really sharp. When I see others without the tint I think it looks unfinished for some reason. Now the cons on her are all cosmetic. I still have the factory stereo which sounds great but there isn't a USB or Aux input for my iphone so I had to purchase a compatible plug which wasn't a problem. I'm sure I'll probably put a bluetooth stereo in soon. The other con is no front arm rest, so I purchased one online that sits in the middle holder and has a compartment. Also it seats 5 but the back seat isn't really comfortable for 3 adults. I got lucky and had 3 children but they did always complain it was uncomfortable and the headrests had to be raised up which was bad from me as the driver because I had a hard time seeing out the back window. I love this car and will love her til she gives out on me which hopefully won't be for a long time. **UPDATE: 6-13-17 I still own my car but my 18 year old daughter drives it about 90% of the time. She loves it and has decided that instead of her purchasing a new vehicle she would like to buy mine and for me get a new car. Only reason I would give it up is because I feel it's a safe, reliable, well maintained car for her and she's very comfortable in it to drive to college. She's 5'4" about 135lbs and she says it's the perfect fit for her. We did put an aftermarket bluetooth stereo so that was a big bonus for her.***OH Knock on Wood!!! No mechanical issues, we thought there was an oil leak but turned out the oil filter got loose.

Suzuki Sx4 Review
I have always been an owner of a Nissan vehicle and I thought it was time for a change; that's where the Suzuki SX4 comes in! I saw a picture of it on a local website and it had me intrigued from the start. It's a very small vehicle compared to what I normally buy, but don't let the small size fool you. I am six foot and I have plenty of room and do not feel cramped at all. I live in a small populated area where the nearest city is thirty minutes away and I enjoy the ride every time, especially with how good the car is on gas and how smooth it rides. The smooth driving of the vehicle definitely makes the long rides more enjoyable. I can make sharp turns wit
Cuter then a bugs ear!
Second review. Still Love it, love it, love it. Recently replaced rear cat due to pipe rotting but did it myself to bring down cost. Car now has 70k miles. This car is basic as could be but that's fine with me, can't think of any complaints, I knew I wanted a basic simple no excitement car. It drives great, handles wonderful, does everything I ask it to do with no problems. My wife loves that it sits higher, more comfortable then her expensive Mazda. Another update 10/9/18 Still have car, still very reliable no major problems. Tire light comes on and off and brake light just started to blink on and off. Not low on fluid maybe bad part. Either way no complaints. Just replaced all fluids and ready for winter Update 4/21 Car doing great, brakes still are garbage. Had to buy new pads a rotors again. Last time I bought expensive ones but still don't last. I read sx4 alway had brake issues. Besides that sill love car. Just installed trailer hitch on car. Glad I bought car its been very good to me.

Better than Honda, Toyota, Nissan or any
Everything from the fantastic customer service to the ease of ownership of this car have been awesome. The car rides, drives, feels and performs better and more comfortably than the other compacts I test drove. Over the course of 6 mos, I drove a Civic twice, Corolla, Hyundai Elantra, Nissan Sentra and Kia, still the clear choice was the sx4, it feels so much safer, solid and substantial.
air bags
I own a Suzuki sx4 2008 model, I always like my car until I was in a wreck, from the wreck I broke my neck and mess up my back. I was T-bone on the driver side and the side air bags did not come out the front ones did but the one on my steering wheel shattered as it deployed, I was hit from the side so my side ones should of came out, these model cars needs too have a check on them before someone else gets hurt like me the doctors said I will never work again

Great crossover for what you pay for
This is kind of tricky since I owned a 28,000 dollar jetta before this car. It gets pretty good gas millage for have allwheel drive I get 28.1 though 29.0 mpg most of the time but not in winter winter I see about 20-24 mpg I live in Indiana so I see alot of snow. I love the room in this car with a wheel base of 98 I can sure fit alot of cargo with the seats down. I love the sound system I got the 9 speaker premium sound and it pretty good. Note though my jetta had a eight speaker sound system that sound just as good with better bass and had no subwoofer in it. Love the no key start now I hate using other peoples cars. Basically a good car for the 18 thousand.
Excellent little SUV
I am very happy with my choice of the SX4. I've driven Land Rovers for years, so this is a big change. I am constantly amazed at how much I can carry in this little guy. I have English mastiffs and three of them fit quite comfortably in the back. Mind you, that is about 500 lbs of dog! I am also happy with the gas mileage. I was considering the Fit, but I went for the SX4 because of the 4x4. I'm happy with my choice.
an all wheel drive "car" finally
It's no wonder that this vehicle is the number one selling suv in Europe. If you think gas is expensive here... wow. Tight handling, sits like it's a foot higher of the ground. Good acceleration,
Fun little car!
My husband & I bought the crossover and we are in love! I have an 06 Mustang GT and hubby has a Dodge Ram Hemi, we added the Suzuki to our family so that we could keep our Mustang in the garage when the weather isn't good. We both fight over who's gonna drive the Suzuki. It's so much fun to drive and it's nice to drive on long trips. Plenty of room for my 6'3" hubby and our 2 dogs. If you're thinking about buying this little car, you won't be sorry!
Biggest Little Car Ever! The SX4 Sedan!
I have the vivid red SX4 Sedan w/ conv & auto. I've owned over 150 cars in my life. New, used, old, big & small. This car really takes the cake for value, comfort, looks, performance, etc. I could go on and on. (Okay, I will!) I am 6' 350lbs and I fit! No tipping the head to get in or reach out and close door. (Big guys know what I mean.) I can easily open the door in the parking garage and slip in and out since the doors are so short. Glass everywhere. Feels like a greenhouse. Tall seating feels like you're in an SUV. Handles excellent. Easy to drift if you want. Sharp appearance. Beats Toyo, Nissan, Subies and most other small cars in the looks, ride and standards department.
Fun to drive
Maneuvers well. For a small car it really takes off. I have left many cars behind. If it weren't for speed limits I would be way ahead of the crowd!

Fabulous!
I have had this vehicle for about a month now and can't find a single thing wrong yet. I have it in orange which is a spectacular color. I don't know why people complain about the fuel it just have a small tank costs me less then $40 to fill up who can ask for anything more! The hatchback is perfect for everything I put in. The fold up seats expand the trunk to immense amounts. This car is fabulous perfect, and it fits me like a glove. Might not be for you but it was for me!
SX4 is a safe vehicle
I have written before about my SX4 Sport sedan. It was totaled over a month ago when a brand new Chevy Impala rental car sideswiped it after the Chevy ran a red light, collided with cross traffic, and crashed into my car as I was crossing the intersection at about 40 mph. The Impala hit my SX4 in the rear drivers side door and ripped the left rear wheel off the Suzuki. The side impact airbags saved me from serious injury according to the police and the EMTs.
WORST CAR EVER!!!!
DEAR GOD pls don't buy this car......I have never spent so much money on repairing this vehicle, always in the garage and would leave me stranded no kidding at least every other week with one thing or another!!!! I had 15 grand into it when i finally cut my losses and dumped it for a Honda Accord........I got 5 grand on the trade in and some dealers refused to except it on a trade in!!! one dealer laughed at me on the phone when I said what I had to trade in and hung up in my face!!! you can get a good deal on this car because they do not sell them in Canada anymore (THANK GOD) but you will regret buying I can assure you of that!!! all the maintenance was up to date on this car and still it was always broken with something replaced AWD, driveshaft, major break job alternator battery and on and on the final straw was the check engine light that would stop the car almost dead on the highway twice this happened in a week and that was enough it was gone that week and I've been sleeping at night ever since!!!

Went down hill quick...
I bought this car new in 2008 for $17,800, looking for a reliable vehicle with AWD. The car was great to me for the first 60k miles. At around 70k I had a rod knock, it turned out that my motor had slipped two bearings, I took it to the dealer(under warranty) and the job required an entirely new short block! I have owned 5 vehicles and have never thrown a bearing! The car hit 100k I had a broken slave cylinder so out of warranty this was a $1300 job (over 2000 at the dealer!), and at 106k my engine has a rod knock again! I will be trading it in tomorrow for a camry to avoid the $3,000 it would take to fix again. I will never buy a Suzuki again, and if you do, listen for the rod knock!
Not for the long legged
I bought this car for $18,900 including tax, title, and license which is too much money for this car. The AWD is great. Have had it to the dealer twice to replace the display consol (clock, temp etc). Cruise control doesn't hold your speed very well. I drive 55 miles daily to work so I have to get gas every three or four days. Very disappointing gas mileage for a 4 cylinder. It's only getting maybe 22 mpg at the most and the tank only holds 10 gallons of gas. I'm 6' 4" and this car has great headroom but practically no leg room. Back seats don't fold real well. Overall a good car but it needs a few more years of improvements to be a great car. Don't recommend it to guys with long legs.
Regrettable purchase
This is the very first brand new vehilce purchase I have ever made. I am quite disappointed. The exterior paint is "cheap & sensitive" (scratches down to the metal extremely easily, I have had to pay for protectant because of bird droppings marking it). The interior "plastic" (dash, doors)scratch extremely easily, and the upholstery snags like mad as well. The little windows on the front sides create blind spots. The window sticker when I bought it said avg mpg 30 highway and I have not ever gotten above 25-26mpg. Small gas tank. Cruise control is not standard neither are arm rests. Not terribly comfortable. Hard to handle in strong winds. Back seat not much leg room. Not "family" car
A Good Idea Gone Bad
This car turned out to be a big disappointment. It drives well -- I have the manual transmission and it is very responsive. It has good sight lines. However, the first thing I noticed was poor fit and finish, albeit minor. However, the major problem is that the engine needs rebuilding after only 90,000 miles -- the valve seals and cylinder rings need replacement. Because of Suzuki's bankruptcy and exit from the North American market, it is difficult to find replacement parts or a rebuilt motor, so I will be junking the car under CA's cash for clunkers law.

Suzuki SX4 ZXi
Suzuki SX4 ZXi car though boasts of high end features it's crap when it comes to quality. I have brought new SX4 on 4-4-2008. The reverse shifting gear was hard to function from outset. When I asked about it, Suzuki people told it's designed like that only. When it ran 4900 km,just before second free service, the shifting gear (reverse) got jammed. To add further woes, water started pouring into front cabin from the bottom..
2 strikes but not out
give me a minute about the 2 strikes. I have the sedan with the sports and touring package. the car is comfortable, its roomy, the trunk is big. you sit tall in it so it get a little getting use to. the materials are cheap but the design of the interior is pretty nice. I like the leather wrapped thick steering wheel. the seats are ok. not the best but not the worst, they are soft and well cushion. some feature I like are the fog lamps, the little radio amplifier under the seat and the average fuel mpg, the fuel range, temperature and clock right in the middle of the dashboard. the car is light so it feels and maybe it is a little quicker than I expected. the ride is for the most part soft. mine has the 17 inch tires that still look small because the car is tall. the car handles pretty good and and I have to say its easy and fun to drive. its not to loud on highways its rides nice. the power windows go down and up pretty quick. the doors are light so you tend to slam them doors shut not expecting it to be so light. four adults fit comfortably. I have no idea yet how it does in the winter, we shall see. now for the two strikes. 1st strike. I don't know if the sending unit on the fuel gauge is bad but I can only manage to get 250 miles per tank fill between 65 and 70 mph. I don't get it? its a 2.0 non turbo engine with 143 hp and even at 55,60mph I only manage a little more, about 265 miles per tank. for someone who commutes 40 minutes on a highway every day this is no good. the 2nd strike is that the drivers seat doesn't go back far enough. I'm only 5 foot 8 and after a while of driving my legs hurt because my legs cant reach out more because the pedals are to far up. this is very uncomfortable. I never use the cruise control and I have had to with this car just to stretch my legs pass the pedals to east the crouching leg position. so if you are 5 foot 7 and taller, beware. outside of that I think its a very good commuter car or something to get around in, students etc. UPDATE: I would have given this car 4 to 5 stars because I liked it that much. I like the look of the styling with the small body kit. The dash is a nice design and has your basic creature comforts like powe door locks, windows etc. I had the winter package and touring packages with a small amp/sub woofer for the radio as an option. Fog lamps, heated mirrors. 17 inch wheels. Great ride. Handles really well. Adaqute power and spacious with a huge trunk. Reliability was very very good. It took a bit to get used to because the front windshield is so high it seems. The car is on the narrow side but is tall. Now for the two major problems in my experience with the car. Leg room for the driver. If you are under 5 foot 6 you are going to be ok. Taller than that and leg room is uncomfortable. The seat does go that far back and if it did the steering wheel would need to be telescopic. Next is fuel mileage. If you communicate to work more than 20 miles a day you will be disappointed at the fuel mileage. The inefficient engine along with the 11 gallon tank makes this fine car struggle with fuel economy. I would recommend it for local or short commutes as your daily driver. If your commute is 25 miles and more each way I suggest you look else where. But overall I can't completely say it's not a good car. I still think it's great. More pros than cons. It's just that the cons are what people looking for a economy car do not want.

Love My "Super Suzuki"
We bought the AWD version of this car in April 2008. Love it! Fun to drive. Fits our growing family of 5 (4 adult size and one child)comfortably enough for short trips. Good on gas (getting 21.5 city driving). Lots of trunk space. Can't wait to see how it handles in the snow. For a 4 cylinder vehicle, it does great on hills.
Nice small car but with issue
Looking a new car for me to commute to work. Test drove Saturn Astra, Toyota Matrix and Suzuki SX4 (Sport with convenience pkg). After compare with the price and warranty, the SX4 is the final winner. This car is easy to handle and with about 30 MPG (city and highway combine) but shakes between 65-80 miles/hr. Took it back and Suzuki dealer spend two day to work on it. I picked up the car and they told me it was the balance problem of the tires which is not true. The car still shakes and who knows how many time I need to take this car back to Suzuki to get it fixed.
Great ride
After being a loyal fan of the VW Golf, I was in the market for a new ride. I chose the SX4 sport touring edition, and it has been perfect. faster, better traction and handles better than any of my Golfs, and better than the wife's Honda. It has a lot better design too. Its a car worth looking if your shopping in the price range.
A car you don't see every day
Overall, a fine little car. Love the exterior styling, a real headturner. Interior design is very good, with high quality plastics. The car has great steering feel, and the 17 inch tires and wheels make it handle like a go-cart. The brakes will make it stop on a dime. Fuel economy is very good, could improve though. Suzuki needs a 5 speed auto in place of the 4 speed. I'm surpassing the city estimates easily, but the highway number seems pretty accurate. Suzuki needs a bit stronger air-conditioner, it takes longer than I would like to cool down the inside on a hot day. Also, the stereo sounds great with CD's, but the radio needs stronger reception. Engine is almost as smooth as a honda 4.
85,000+ miles and counting
I drive this car 108 miles a day. Avg 32 mpg. This is the best car I have ever purchased. I took it to Colorado and it had no problem pulling the mountains. For those who say the engine is not strong enough. Purchase a K&N Air filter made a world of difference in the cars performance.
Intresting Design, gutless motor
Owned the car for just a hair over 2 years, put 33,000 miles on it. Overall it handles and drives better than any other car I have driven in the snow. I was able to drive in ~ 3 feet of unplowed city snow with out a problem. Downside, after 2 years I have valves tapping in the motor.. traded this in on a Subaru WRX instead. Overall the engine is my biggest complaint.. it has no power and I only got about 21.6 MPG out of it... honestly pick one or the other stink at MPG or stink at power not at both! Handles better than my Jeep in snow and ice, good reliable boring family car. For a 10-20k car it does its job but if you drive > 40MPH ever... find something better.
Very good car for the money
I really love my car. I think it looks sporty for an economy car. I just wish it had more horsepower and torque. My sport edition did not come with the driving lights or cruise control, which is about the only thing I can complain about. Other than the 2009 model has an integrated GPS. But in the total package I would say the car is well worth it.
SX$ Cross Over
Car was great for 15000 miles then the rattles in the dash area began....awful, selling dealer did not even fill the windsheild wiper reservoir dealer no help....Fuel economy for such a compact car is barely 27mpg for me. Eats tires, if you go studded tires with AWD and Traction control its awesome in ice and snow. If you roll windows down you cant here anything at all. Windows dont defrost well, very small fuel tank.Wish I would have bought a VW Rabbit
A great decision to buy this car
We bought this car for safety, air bag protection, and traction in snow and ice in Wyoming. Also zero percent financing. It is the best decision we have ever made. My wife loves this car and we have driven to Denver, Estes Park, Yoder Wyoming with no problems.
Great car
Honestly, I had never owned a Suzuki and was kind of reluctant to purchase one simply because I was not familiar with these vehicles Oh boy, Have I been pleasantly surpised! This car keeps getting great reviews from friends, not to mention the great perks it came with, and the much needed, built-in bluetooth system. On a normal work week, I used to fork out about 60 bucks for gasoline (California), Now after the first week of owning and driving the car guess what? So far, I have only put 35 bucks of gas and still has little less than half a tank left. Cannot beat this deal!
This is a great little car.
I bought this for its mileage and 4 wheel drive ability. Fell in love with all of it. After 2 years of ownership I gave it to my son. He puts a lot of miles on it and has to deal with heavy snow. He loves it. Get one before they are all gone. I'd get the manual tranny.
SX4 Crossover Touring2
Bought the new 2008 Xover in Touring-2 trim and 5-speed, in copper metallic. Great car, solid feel on road, avg mpg so far is 29.2. Good on gas if you drive like you want it to be. I find the seats very comfortable, better than the Prius I was going to buy at twice the price. Cabin noise is quite low for this class, engine is smooth, doors shut with solid thump. 9- speaker stereo is excellent. Front end styling is great, back end could use a little more edginess to it. Very intriguing little vehicle. Suzuki, I wish you would replace rear differential with brushless DC motor along with smaller engine and make it a mild hybrid. I just might do it for you Suzuki!
08 SX4 Crossover... Lemons, cheap but expensive to fix
Great until about 35k. Both rear wheel bearings replaced. Both front struts broke in half. Right front stabilizer bar broke. Car still makes a weird clunk when turning and rattles when it goes over bumps. Dealership is horrible for warranty. The passenger air bag light says off when passenger is in seat with seat belt on. Dealership unpluged battery and said all is well, I get 20 miles down the road and it does the same thing. Very unsafe vehicles. Road bumps will throw car around. Good luck going thru snow. Doesn't even handle 4". All around poor vehicle. No more Suzuki for me.
car is it part your life?

Unhappy customer
Hub caps are plastic, alarm doesn't include trunk. Not happy with the car. I would dump in a heartbeat if I could get someone to buy it from me. Rear seats do not fold down.
Will spend alot of time at the shop!
My girlfriend purchased a 2008 SX4 new. She drives to and from work. She had it a little over 3 years and only 20,000 miles. Since it's over 3 years, now out of warranty. The a/c just went out and now going to cost over $1000 to fix it. Asked service advisor at dealership if this means we will have to pay over $1000 every 20k miles and said he did not know! I'm trying to talk my girlfriend into trading it in for another brand that will hold up.
Good Quality for the money
I love this car. It drives great especially in the snow. Mileage is pretty accurate to the sticker. Very comfortable for a small car.
Little big stuff
Quick road hugging and fun to drive. I have had several small cars such as Toyota Matrix 04, Honda Accord 92 and Chevy Aveo 06. The SX4 beats them all in overall performance. The trunk room is great and the interior room head room cannot be beaten for a car of its class. My daughter is a tall 5ft10ins and she loves sitting in the rear. The car is perfect for commuting and long travel. So before you buy your gas saver test drive the SX4 you will not be disappointed.
Great Little Car
I have had the car for 10 months now and I still love it. It has been great in the ice and snow. I have gotten up hills that other cars were slipping and sliding on. The traction control and anti-lock breaks have kept me going in a straight line when other cars in front and behind me have been fishtailing. In addition to being very reliable and safe, it is a blast to drive. It is so comfortable that my husband always wants me to drive even though his Saturn gets better gas mileage. I'm averaging 27 MPG and I drive 100 miles a day back and forth to work. I test drove a Honda Fit and Civic because they got better gas mileage but they just didn't feel as substantial as the SX4.
