Vibration that can’t be solved

I custom ordered/ received a 2021 night edition 1500. After several months of the dealer and FCA experimenting with wheel balance/ tire replacement, driveshaft replacement, alignment, calibration of anti vibration modules and full rear axle replacement, the issue only became worse. At 691 miles, FCA purchased the truck back under lemon law. Then they resold it at auction (not as a lemon).

Mileage and driving assistance brings it way down

I have a 2021 ram rebel with pretty much everything on it. Sticker mileage was 19/22/24, complete BS and I think they know it. Salesman use the sticker to sell it, Service department, of two dealers, and the corporate, so called customer liaison, immediately said sticker means nothing (it’s a lie, we know it just to sell you a truck, apparently) Or if how How I drive the truck including putting the cruise control on for a couple hours driving on a flat road in the central valley. The best mileage nursing it, coasting to a stop, trying to keep the Econo light on as much as possible, freeway, country, city, is 16 miles per gallon. It’s a V-6 etorque. At this point I’d be happy to get the 19 as my best number. I believe this is what happens when corporations own politicians, they can lie and get away with it. The second thing is, what they call Lane Assist, is not, it’s a poorly done version of lane departure. I turned it off of after trying it for two months I almost felt like it made things less safe it sure didn’t do anything to keep you in your lane. Lane keep is old technology now, I had it on my ‘17 Honda ridgeline it was a great feature especially on long trips. Everything else about the truck I like, I wish it had more options to use the eTouque battery, or monitoring of it you on camp trips, I’d be happy with a better understanding of it you can’t find much information on it. I don’t even know if the electric motor working. I don’t think the service department‘s know enough about the technologies of these trucks to fix anything that’s not replacing the part, if they had to replace the engine I bet they learn how. In the long run the bad gas mileage is going to cost me thousands over the life of the truck.

Coming from a nice 2015 GMC Sierra to this 2021 Ram Limited is like night and day. The Ram drives better, responds better, and has more safety features than I ever thought possible in a truck. It’s a luxury car inside a fortress. Happy with my purchase for sure.

Returned My 1500 TRX The Day After I Bought It

I put in and order for a 2021 TRX in December and just picked it up yesterday. 16 miles new. The car is beautiful, interior amazing and electronics great. The problem was when driving it, the car just shut down! 20 miles new and the car shut down in the middle of the road while driving. The fact that a car can do this is mind boggling. It would not start again until I lifted the hood and closed it. It kept shutting down while attempting to take it back home and as long as I opened the hood and closed it, it started again. It shut down about 15 times in a 5 mile span. If we have been going faster and in traffic, a major accident would have happened. The car is being returned to dealership today. I cannot take the risk of this happening ever again.

The truck looks great it is pretty comfortable, although some comforts are mediocre. For example the sunvisor, an inch gap on the left and when you swing it around to the side window and inch gap behind it. it’s amazing how often the sun flashes through those two openings hitting your eyeballs. really? They couldn’t make them an inch longer for $67,000 truck. When I put it in reverse, I don’t need both mirrors to look at the ground, I need just one of them to, the other one I need to use to look behind me. Fortunately the surround camera solves that problem when backing out of my steep narrow driveway. In these modern times why doesn’t it auto lock when I walk away from the truck? You know like my four-year-old Ridgeline did. I do love the 12 inch display not sure why they made the size of the clock set at a quarter inch tall… How many young people with great eyes can afford to buy this thing? The GPS software is awful, it doesn’t show you the lane usage ahead on the freeway, it’s constantly telling me the speed is 55 when it’s 25 and there’s nothing with that speed within a mile. Most of the options on the map adds an extra button push “want to go here?” yes “route now?” yes. it’s not Garman. I’m 6’6”, seat all the way back, adjusted petals always forward my foot still rust on them when my legs stretched out. The armrest is like 2 inches wide not a lot of room for a big guys arm and I’m skinny skinny tall guy. The dash lights go from really dim to dim and then really bright I really want someplace between the dim and the really bright. The heads up display is fantastic I didn’t know how I’d like it but I really like it and the programming is flexible for what you want displayed. The only full USBs or next to each other in the front of the center consul the one in the back of the center consul where you might want to hide your iPod out of site, it’s just for charging, really Ram? The panoramic sunroof is beautiful, some nights I get home tired and just want to recline the seat and stare at the stars. I have the Rambox, they’re having to replace one complete insert because it wouldn’t close right and the fit and trim was embarrassing. One box had a 4 mm gap the other one 7 mm. Coming from the Honda Ridgeline with the trunk in the bed, I love the Rambox. The multifunction tailgate is also great. Oh the lane keep…. This is where Ram hired some old engineers, whose last job was working on Pong video games. It has absolutely no finesse, when it sees the line it turns the other direction no attempt to “keep“ you in the lane, it simply turns you away from the line. It shouldn’t be called Lane Keep, it should be called “look out, a line!” That Ridgeline, with its four year old technology, actually “kept” you in the center of your lane, it would simply wiggle the steering wheel if you cross the line. it really took the stress off of your wrist on long trips of winding freeways. All the technology to do it right is on the Ram, but instead of using it, the program it like a pong video games. I’ll get use to it, have no choice, I do like the truck, I know these issues are not the American worker, it is the American company, my Honda was made in Alabama or Arkansas, it seems Japanese standards are just higher. I only have 1400 miles, and my mileage us running around 13.5/mpg with my V6 eTorque… I’ll wait to see if it improves greatly or they fix something that’s not right. It should be getting 19 to 24, 21 average. My fear is, the fit and trim is as bad inside the engine, as on the outside of the truck. I’ve sent emails to the service manager and salesman of the dealership I bought it from, I’ve got to get a response. (The model of this truck is a 2021 1500 Rebel, loaded, Edmonton doesn’t I have that option for some reason)

Brand new Ram 1500 Longhorn stranded us in Big Bend Park due to charging system issue. After a 2 1/2 hour tow truck ride to nearest dealership in Ft Stockton, Tx we were informed that the dealership had to work with Chrysler Corporate prolong repair time by at least an extra day! No car rental places in Ft Stockton so we’re stuck. Dealership offered no transportation. Chrysler “customer care” is an absolute joke. 100% run-around and 0% action. I was leery about Chrysler products to begin with. Should have bought another F150. Don’t be seduced by outward appearances. Chrysler products are unreliable and the company only gives lip service to taking care of customer issues. Never again.

Olive green Laramie sport level 2 options package with a few extras. The bad: the exterior styling is not as bold or aggressive looking, I plan a 3/2 leveling kit to improve stance. 23 gallon fuel tank is a little small. Seat control pack falls off daily, and upholstery tab on passenger seat pops off often. The good: fuel economy is better than previous models and I like the engine cut off at stop option. The great: the interior is ridiculously comfortable and I really like the seat styling with the velvet look. Bucket seat version console design is also excellent as is the gauge set up and steering wheel controls are highly intuitive. The 12 inch screen and phone integration are great, but it's weird not having knobs and dials, but I'm liking it. Overall the interior steals the show and rivals any luxury car on the market. The ride: effortless power, the 395 horse etorque handles the MT mountains like a flat surface and you don't feel gear changes. I switched back to a 1500 from a 4runner, this truck makes that feel like a lumber wagon in comparison. Integrated trailer brakes, a zoom function on the camera make towing and hitching easy. Overall the only reason it's a 4 rather than a 5 are the stance/ride height and standard tank size.

Right now my 2021 RAM 1500 Limited 4x4 averaged 13.1 MPG on the highway, that's is correct. Even less in the city driving. Two dealerships cannot find any issue because there isn't any codes popping up. Purchased the truck for all the bells and whistles has 33 gallon tank, can barely get 400 miles. My monthly ride from San Antonio, TX to Jena, LA is 498 miles. My 2018 Silverado w/6.2L 4x4 and a 26 Gallon tank could make the trip all the way with 2 gallons to spare, When I filled up in Pineville coming back. Now Dodge Customer Service is telling that because they can't find an issue, i.e. a error code, there's nothing they can do about it.

Under 10,000 miles, had to replace all fuel filters which ended up not being the problem. Took back and had to replace the whole gas tank. Still issues, so went back and replaced the O2 sensor. Now when coming to a stop it lurches forward and heading back to the service station for possible more repairs. After saving for 12 years to buy this truck I really didn't want to be on a first name basis with the service department, but here we are. Just hit 13,000 miles so I am concerned about the reliability of this vehicle which is why I sold my previous vehicle and bought new.

I have always been a chevy guy owning two brand new chevy 1500s both lifted off the lot and one duramax 2500. Drive them until they're done as I drive 200 miles a day for almost two decades. Finally needed a new truck and figured I would test drive a ram as I have had numerous incidents with the unprofessional actions with chevys service department during times I had mechanical issues with chevy.... Anyway I loved the 2021 dodge ram 1500 Laramie I test drove, it was sooooo smooth and so comfortable. I did end up buying it in silver and have had it 3 months now. Have just hit 11k miles and have had absolutely no problems with this truck. Would definitely recommend this truck.
