2019 Cayenne Hybrid - energy and economy

I've owned my 2019 Cayenne Hybrid for about a month now. It's a dream to drive. The motor options of Sport and Sport plus mode makes it handle like a full time sports car. Electric and Hybrid modes make your fuel last and last. Lots of room for golf clubs and other camping gear. The air conditioned seats are the absolute best in the desert. Great combination. One issue that was not disclosed when I purchased it was that the Apple Car Play installed in this car, is a stripped down black market version of the real Apple Car Play. The Porsche designed Car Play software severely limits my ability to make phone calls. Such a stupid move on Porsches part to downgrade an otherwise very great car. I'm surprised Apple lets them put Apples name on it. One bug like this can make an otherwise great experience painful. Please have your dealer share ALL of the Apple Car Play features with you before you buy!

unnecessary glitches

Purchased a used base model with a couple of packages and I am very pleased with the car generally. I have owned BMW and MERCEDES previously. Once underway the ride, handling, comfort are superb. Fit, finish and quality of materials is excellent. I really enjoy driving the car both on twisting back roads and on long cruising drives throughout the country. The first three gear changes from 0 mph up are normally terrible and choppy. The same applies as you back down from 25 mph to 0. You can feel the gear changes as well as the lurching and searching for the correct gear throughout the low speed experience. Idling is NOT as smooth as it should be for a 85/k to 95/k car for sure. The other major issue is air buffeting at higher speeds. Upon initial purchase I was lucky to find a Florida Porsche Dealership who repaired a loose exterior plastic A pillar trim piece which stopped the "flapping". The buffeting at high speeds has waned significantly yet when I open the drivers window it returns even at lower speeds. Annoying. Putting down the back window helps to minimize the issue. I've also had my gas tank replaced (a major job) because of the highly characteristic rattling issue at idle. My question: Have these extremely basic issues of shifting, wind buffeting, gas tank rattling been engineered out of the car on the newer 21,22,23 models? I have not experienced any of these issues in Mercedes, Toyota, or even Chevy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the money, I could do better. Porsche owners should not be subjected to these basic issues.

Amazingly fun to drive

I have a 2021 base model Cayenne and This vehicle is unbelievable, it’s surprisingly fun to drive, I was pleasantly surprise how well it handles in all road condition, how quiet the interior is and the power and quickness. I came out of a 2016 BMW X6 and it’s not close to my Cayenne in all luxury and performance categories.

A bit bigger than a Macan, but drives like a Porsche and plenty of power. Mileage is better than EPA. I get about 23 overall. Fine interior and a good upgrade from a Macan.

I am 6'3" tall with disproportionately long legs -- brought my 6'5" tall son with. I was concerned about legroom since the specifications don't give driver's legroom. Not to worry plenty of space! Not a clunky SUV ride. Will probably buy one after my wife gets a chance to drive one.
