Maybe the best all around new car I've purchased
I rented the Rogue and drove it for a week while vacationing. Great handling and gas economy. Plenty of pep in the 4 cylinder model. This prompted us to add it to our list of smaller SUV's to check out. We looked at the Ford Escape but smaller overall, poor head room height and tiny GPS screen. We considered the Edge but considerably more expensive. This is our first Nissan (first top of the line model purchase) and it's only been 9 months but so far all good. I've always been a Honda and Ford fan but couldn't get excited over the CRV exterior design. Anyway still look forward to getting in my Rogue everyday and enjoying a great ride. UPDATE:My Rogue just turned 3 yrs old. Not that its given me any trouble but I' d now give it a 4 score. The reasons are: 1) I've found it isn't very comfortable to drive longer distances or as a passenger. The leather is pretty but it's too hard and unmoving. The seats in back are narrow for an adult. 2) it has every bell and whistle which are just unused electronics waiting to go bad. I don't like the idea of a car trying to drive itself. 3) oddly it doesn't have simple electronics like an audible reminder when you or the passenger forgets to fasten their seat belt. We may not be buying another Nissan in the future.

Made for the Lady
Car handles, has loads of safety items, technology is tops, auto braking system, side car warning system, leather seats installed for added comfort and are beautiful. What pick up for 4 cyl. engine. Quiet transmission comfort seats and adjustments to customize. Nice key FOB for safety and pre-cooling on a hot day. Nice headlamps and tail lights. Nissan has out designed many auto makers with a luxury car for thousands less. We added the 6 year warranty due to the high end technology. The nice look, great technology, safety ratings make this a car to seriously consider.

Great vehicle!
I'm 6'3" tall and finding a car that I can sit in and ride comfortably is hard to find. Before buying this car I tried the Ford Edge which is similar in size and features. The Ford was still a little small in the cockpit area and didn't have all of the features for the same price. I also tried the Nissan Altima, which I liked, but with the seat in the lowest setting and as far back as it would go my head still touched the roof. The features are outstanding for the price as well. It has virtually everything that the top of line model has except a sunroof/moonroof, leather seats and lane assist. All of which I can easily live without. I have seen some criticize the lack of power but when you consider the gas mileage and the fact that it's a 4 cyl. I think it packs plenty of punch. I will say that the ride is so smooth and comfortable that often I'm driving 10mph or more than I think I'm actually driving. I don't know if it's the best but if you are in the market for this type of vehicle I would encourage you to give it a try. After having driven the Rogue for 9 months now I stand by my assessment. I would add that the lack of power that I alluded to in the last review may be partly due to there being two settings on the car that I didn't realize. There is an economy mode and a sport mode. The sport mode does add more "get up and go".

The good and the bad
The Rouge jumped up the sales ladder with its redesign in 2014. Matter of fact it out sells most other brands in the compact SUV class. While all vehicles in this category share a similar shape I was drawn by the new design. The interior is quite comfortable, feels somewhat upscale and is pretty quiet on the road. Love the seats and the secure feeling behind the wheel, thanks to excellent handling and braking characteristics. The elephant in the room has to be the CVT which provides better MPG's but lessens the driving experience taking much of the fun out of driving. You never know what you'll get when you press your foot down to accelerate. Depending where you are in the power band the vehicle usually takes its time to react. While I'd like this vehicle better if it was more responsive the CVT trade off is higher MPG's. Perhaps not so bad considering the ever increasing price of fuel these days. There isn't an awful lot separating this vehicle from the pack since they're all clones. Although I love the divide-n-hide shelf system, comes in real handy when you have a bunch of grocery bags you don't want rolling around on the way home from shopping. UPDATE Aug. 2019 The vehicle has performed flawlessly for 20,000 miles, only cost oil and tire rotations. Certainly not a speedster but comfortable to drive, our sport sedan sits home as I prefer the taller seating position standard in most SUV's. Would buy another! UPDATE: Feb 2020 - Remain pleased with this vehicle, no mechanical issues to report. Opted for better tires to improve winter performance at 28K, now noticeably better in slippery conditions. Radio display sucks, presets have no info indicating channel selection making the technology somewhat lacking.Update: Aug 2020 - No issues, vehicle has been trouble free for 36,000 miles. Would love another 20 hp, should help the slow response. Toyota and Honda have addressed this in their new models.

Honda CRV vs My New Rogue
I drove a 2017 Rogue and decided to buy a 2017 Honda CRV EXNavi hated it, problems with 1.5 turbo engine gas in oil, no help from Honda. Traded it off for a 2018 Rogue SL and. This is ten times the car that the Honda was. Honda was once a good car but they are no longer the car they used to be. Stay away from any Honda with the 1.5 turbo engine.

Rogue review
Haven’t had it long, but love this vehicle 🚗. Was able to get all of the options I wanted at the SV trim level. Saved me thousands. Also have a Murano in the family and really like the size of the Rogue.

Better than Equinox, CRV, Forester, and Rav4
I drove the Rogue, Equinox, CRV, Forester and the Rav4. The Forester, CRV and Equinox were 2019 Models, while the Rogue and Rav4 were 2018's. I rank then in that order listed, with Rogue first. It was an easy and obvious choice. The Rogue was much more comfortable to drive. The Rogue was the only one with heated seats and heated steering wheel. I chose the "affordable" models where the MSRP was no more than about 30k, but I did not drive the stripped very low end models. The Equinox I ranked number 2..it was more comfortable (except the Rogue) but lacked safety tech and features in the LT model. The Forester was very nice except that it felt like I was sitting on my carpenters nail belt full of nails. I wanted the Forester to win, but could not wait to get out of it as it was too uncomfortable. The Rav4 was "meh" and nothing special. The CRV has a "Mandantory Moonroof" in all models except the Lowest end. That is, if you want any extras, you MUST buy the CRV moonroof at a cost of around 1500 dollars. I would rather lose my money in a Casino than buy a moonroof..at least I could have fun in the Casino. So the CRV was not for consideration. The Rogue SV had everything I wanted and more: All wheel drive, safety tech features on lower end models, remote start, heated seats, "360 degree" backup camera, and even heated steering wheel! I was shocked to find out it also had NAVI and Sirius XM radio..much more than I expected, and much more than in all the other models I tried. Yes, you can get some of these things it the highest level models, but I wasnt about to spend almost 40 grand. Its far and above the best value for the money. Forester was second, as the 2019 Forester also has safety tech features even on the low end models. I dont like the car companies telling me: Ok, I value your life, provided that you pay 38k or more, if you want the lower end models, then you are on your own as far as safety. The safety of my family is too important for it to be "for sale" by the car companies, nor should it be.

Loving the Rogue
The Rogue is a smooth-riding, roomy, good looking vehicle with lots of electronic safety features, and it can give good fuel economy if driven appropriately. The dealer offered very good incentives, making the purchase decision easy. The all wheel drive has worked well in snow and off pavement so far. I am somewhat baffled by other reviews of the Rogue claiming a lack of power and voicing a strong dislike for the CVT. I find it quick enough for any normal driving situation and very efficient, also quiet and comfortable. If you want the sporty thrill of acceleration while you are wasting fuel, you can always manually shift the transmission. Follow-up: Several months and several thousand miles later, the Rogue continues to exceed our expectations. Now in the warmer months, fuel economy is even better, some trips are over 35 mpg, once over 39 mpg. The electronic safety features are the norm now, and we don't like to drive older cars that don't have blind spot detection and 360 degree cameras. On the other hand, I think we have not even tried to pair our smartphones to use Android Auto or Apple Car Play. The seats are quite comfortable, and there's plenty of room for us and our stuff. The interior seems nice enough but not too froofy. Overall, the Rogue suits us very well. 13 months, another follow-up: Nothing to report besides continued satisfaction. No problems, no regrets. Update at 3 years: Nissan just extended the CVT warranty, covered under the powertrain warranty, from 5 years 60 k miles to 7 years 84 k miles. Ours is approaching 30 k miles now, and we continue to only have good results to report. No issues. It's a comfortable and versatile car, and when we look at other vehicles we realize what a good value the Rogue has been for us.

4th Nissan Rouge
Picked up my 2017 Midnight Edition Rouge the day before snowmaggedon hit NW PA.. We received 200+ inches of snow this winter and my Rouge handled it like a champ since I was working just about every day. Now that summer is here, love driving this car everywhere. This is my 4th Rouge lease and have never had an issue with any of them. Received a great Lease rate on my current vehicle which is why I went with the Gray Midnight Edition. Stylish, roomy inside, comfortable seats really dont have any negatives about this vehicle. Looked at other vehicles like Jeep and Honda and neither could match features and price.

Ask before buying!
I purchased my 2018 Nissan Rouge S on 10/23/2018. On my way home a malfunction warning came up on the dash. It was the emergency braking system in which after 5-10 mins of driving it would shut off causing the malfunction. I took it back to the dealership and they said "yes, they just started hearing about the issue"-which was a lie. I read up on the issue and it started showing up in February 2018. They proceeded to tell me Nissan does not know how to fix the issue but will schedule a sensor replacement. Until the issue is fixed I now have to drive it with a malfunction alert on my dash. Now when I drive thru a parking lot the emergency brakes are coming on without anything in front of me. Very disappointed in the 2018 Nissan Rouge at the moment.

Nice suv for the price
This suv packs a lot of features for it's price. It comes well loaded. I have driven about 22k miles so far, and no issues. Cvt transmission takes sometime getting used to, but it is designed for gas mileage. Averages about 29 to 32mpg in mixed suburban driving. It is a well designed product from Nissan. The only issue I had was oil change intervals are at 5k. But they are relatively cheap. I used to own a v.w. vehicle before where dealer charged arm and a leg. it is about 61K now. No issues with engine and tranmission. Only had to replace a dead battery and all 4 tires at 55K. The collision sensing software was updated under warranty at 30K, as it was a standard recall. other than that, the car has been running smoothly. 100k no issues so far. Just basic maintenance oil changes, tire rotation, transmission service, coolant/brake flush, differential service etc. have replaced the battery, tires and rear brakes once At 171k, still no issues other than basic maintenance. Kept up with all recommended maintenance like transmission flush, brake and coolant flush, oil changes, air filters. The car is still good for long distances

3.5 stars. Not bad, but not amazing.
I've been driving this car for three weeks now. I leased it for a reasonable amount per month. It's the AWD version of the SV trim (second out of three trims, the top of the line being the SL). This car is another one of those mid $20,000 SUVs that puts more energy into creature comforts than raw performance. It has a delightful interior. It could be better in some areas, but the inclusion of a back-up camera, heated seats, remote start, and Android Auto keep me from wanting to complain too much. The seats are comfortable enough and the ride is good enough. I have no real complaints about it, but I have no real praises either. The car doesn't come with navigation, but I get it for free via Android Auto so I'm happy. The interior could be better, but it could also be much worse. The divide-and-hide feature in the back is nice and it does have fairly good cargo space. My friend doesn't complain about the backseat. Again, another one of those middle-of-the-road deals. It takes a moment to warm up, but it has an auto-starter so it helps mitigate that as well. The only real complaint I have is the engine and the continuous variable transmission. It's a very soft, sluggish drive. The set-up is decent for gas mileage, but not so great if you really want to "drive" your car. This is especially true if you need some extra power to pass people on the freeway or idiots on their cell phones on 45MPH roads. I'm leasing this thing for three years (2018-2021). I don't regret the lease, but I'm definitely not buying it at the end of said lease. I may even trade it in beforehand depending on the circumstances. The creature comforts are nice and for that Nissan deserves 3 stars. The engine gets it half a star because it's not useless, but it's just not interesting, either. Those who really need decent fuel economy and modern tech at a decent price and don't mind having a less-than-optimal engine could be happy with this one. However, anyone looking for a responsive car with a little juice may want to look elsewhere. I give it a 3.5 stars (rounded up to 4). I don't hate this car. I don't dislike this car. It's like that friend that you don't see that often but you kinda don't mind not seeing that often but they're still your friend, if that makes sense. It's an okay car.

Hampsters can’t touch this Rogue!!!
I really didn’t know much about the Rogues before I bought it. I have only driven it a couple of times so far. I work out of my vehicle daily & I spend at least 6 hours a day in it. I have driven kia’s, Mitsubishi’s, & jeep’s. By far this is the most spacious and the most comfortable suv I have owned!!! My friends were shocked on how much room it had on the inside compared of how it looks from the outside. I read some of the reviews after I bought it and I disagree with most of them. I am a very petite & short female & I can see out of the vehicle perfectly. It also has lights by the side mirrors that light up when someone comes up on your blind spot. Awesome!! The color is Caspian blue with Charcoal interior. The blue almost sparkles like glitter. But overall I am extremely happy I chose to get my 1st Nissan Rogue, I love this suv!!! Thanks a million

Good, not Great, not Horrible, some disappointment
I am reviewing this as a female, as a mom, who is not a major car person, who values comfort and conveniences. I went from leasing a Toyota RAV4 FWD, to a Toyota Corolla to the Rogue SUV. The Corolla was great for mileage but too small and I wanted the space and safety of an SUV, found the RAV4 to be boring, so went with the Rogue. More or less the Rogue drives fine. Again, I am not a car person so don't know a whole lot about the technical aspects. To me, it drives fine. The engine seems a bit slow but not a big deal to me. The selling points for me were the AWD, as I live in the snow belt, and the fun, fancy features - Apple Car Play, heated seats, rear camera, large cargo area, steering wheel controls, motion activated lift gate, etc. I have a kid who plays travel sports so the cargo area should have been a big bonus as we have so much stuff to lug around. My negatives: The Rogue touts a large cargo area, which is true, there is a lot of space, but the width is awful. I cannot fit our collapsible canopy that we take to games in the cargo area. It's too long (cargo area too narrow due to the raised areas on the sides-which is for the cargo management system- it reduces the cargo floor width). Sadly, the canopy DID fit in the trunk of my Corolla. Which I find sad. This certainly shouldn't deter anyone from getting a Rogue, but for me, it's insanely annoying as I can't store the canopy tent in the trunk. It has to be shoved, literally shoved (due to lack of floor space) in the back seat, where my kids have to rest their feet on top of it. Big trunk/cargo area, but you're limited to what you can store due to the width. It has the cargo management system which seems fun but I don't personally use it. I'd prefer more width to the cargo floor rather than the storage system. If you're ever going to need to put a wider box or item in the cargo space, beware. Heated seats are a joke. They barely get warm. My husband drives a Jeep, with heated seats that practically burn your legs when on high, and they heat up really fast. The Rogue heated seats on level high are less warm than the Jeep's set on low. Disappointing. The AWD was disappointing as well. Could just be me, but I don't feel any difference driving in snow between the AWD and standard FWD, and I wish the display would show when the car automatically goes into AWD because I have no idea when it does. I know there will be a difference in this vehicle compared to our Jeep with 4WD, but unfortunately I don't feel a benefit from the AWD. That being said, my previous RAV4 was FWD so I can't compare the AWD to another vehicle. My expectations may have just been too high :) The touch screen display frequently- but not always - displays a message upon engine start-up, that says something along the lines of "this device cannot be used at this time" but I haven't plugged in any device. Haven't figured out what is happening with this yet. The motion activated lift gate would be a nice feature but it never works. You keep kicking in different places and it doesn't catch the motion. Then when it does catch the motion, it catches it more than once and it opens and shuts before it even opens. So that could be more sensitive. None of these negatives make the Rogue a bad car, but they are all disappointments that set in after driving the car for a few weeks. Positives include the Apple CarPlay, the rear camera, steering wheel controls. The mileage is great for an SUV - definitely the best aspect for your value. The space in the car is decent, a bit tight in the back seat with one car seat and not a lot of legroom, but it's fine for the kids. They like the center arm rest console. So all in all, the car is decent. My gripes are more materialistic, but those were the features that sold me.

Love my Rogue
I had a Nissan Altima before I purchase my Rogue, my husband wanted the Altima and I wanted a vehicle that sits a little higher than my Altima and the Rogue is just right for me the only thing that's wrong with my Rogue is, it's not paid for😁

Edmonds is a little to critical of this vehical
Compare all features with other suv’s of this size and rogue gives you more bang for the buck. Find another with the same features as the ROGUE SV and you’ll pay a lot more for all of them. 33 mpg is Damn good to. I’m getting ready to purchase my 3rd. Anyone looking to purchase a small suv should do comparisons. Now driving my 3rd. 2018 SV. Great car.

I love my Nissan
I purchased the Caspian Blue Nissan SL AWD (2/18) version with the sunroof. This is by far the best Nissan Rouge I have owned. The leather seats are comfortable especially on long trips. The heated seats are great in the winter and I love the sunroof. The only con is the trunk space is a little small and I wish it had a little more acceleration especially when merging into traffic off of an onramp. Other than that, I Love it!

Two steps forward, one step back
I got out of a 2015 Rogue lease into a 2018 SV AWD with the premium package. The price is reasonable and you got a good bang for your buck with navigation and all the other features. The following provides a review and a comparison vs. the last version Rogue.....PROS: Paint has a great finish, the new aggressive grill looks sharp, and the alloys look great as before. The rear taillights look slightly different, but the smokey tint looks sharp. On the interior, seems slightly more roomy in back seat, but that could be from the look of the almond interior which looks awesome. The black dash gives a great contrast to the car. Front visibility still seems good, but the slightly longer kneck rests on the seats hamper rear visibility slightly more than 2015, but not it's still pretty good. Something seems better when you drive the car, but I can't put my finger on it....like it feels a little more responsive when you hit the gas. CONS: The Nissan paint color choices is really limited. And the metallic colors that they do offer look goofy in the sun. Example, the blue looks purple, the great shade of scarlet ember looks too bright in the sun, so it becomes a totally different color. Nissan should get back to blues that look blue and maybe a good maroon color, The new OEM Hankook tires seem to provide a little more road noise that the old Goodyear's that were equipped on the 2015 Rogues. There seems to be a little more body roll in this version, but it's not extensive. On the interior, this is where I think Nissan really took a step back. The new seats are harder and more uncomfortable. It kills the back of my legs and I can't seem to get comfortable; where the last version was comfortable driving for hours. Very, very disappointed. The radio seems to be weak in picking up a signal, so it can sometimes take a while to get clear reception. Never had that issue with the 2015. The flat steering wheel on the bottom looks cool, but just feels awkward when turning. The infotainment screen is very poorly lit and hard to see on sunny days. The buttons on the steering wheels are smaller and not as easy to use the the old Rogue. Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't seem to find a way (other than speaking the command or using the touchscreen) to transition from CD/Radio/Sirious. Overall, I think the car looks great and present s GREAT value for the SV AWD for anyone looking for a good compact SUV; but I am VERY disappointed in the choices that Nissan engineers made with the steering wheel buttons, seats, and infotainment system.

Love all of the standard Safety features. Good tight ride. Forward Radar works real well. I like how Nissan moved the Blind Spot Indicator to the Inside door. 175,000 miles. Still going strong.... Love it. ...... 5 years later I still rate it a solid 5 star..

Major issues with 2018 Rogue SL AWD
I purchased my 2018 Rogue SL AWD in mid March 2018 and I have been dealing with issues since March 27th. The first issue that I’ve noticed was a very major incident that has happened 3 times while driving on the interstate (got video) The (FEB) forward emergency braking engaged while driving luckily no other vehicles weren’t around! Allegedly this issue was rectified on July 11th haven’t had it longer then a day to really try it! Also the audio system does a reset and locks up most times! I have to turn the vehicle off to get it to work! The wheels have spots on them very noticeable when the sun reflects on them (have photo) the dealership fixed them looks good they claim they buff them out but they look brand new. I’ve been in a loaner vehicle since June 27th and it’s July 12th 2017.5 Rogue SL AWD i’ve noticed a huge difference especially in mpg I’m currently getting 28.9 mpg and in my 2018 I’m getting an avg of 24-25mpg without A/C running! The reason why we are getting less gas mileage in the 2018 AWD is because the 4X4-i system is running 50% torque on rear wheels longer then needed! In the ‘17.5 it runs 50% torque in the first gear upon take off and then adjust as needed (switch your display to the 4X4-i and watch how long the torque is used on the rear wheels)! On a dry surface you do not need that much torque throughout the other gears! I pointed that out to the technician and he gave me a slight nod! (The accelerator sensor, yaw rate sensor or 4WD controller aren’t working correctly!) And the final issue is the engine brake is not engaging when you slow down to between 25 to 40 mph The tech odometer should rise up to 2 to 4 RPM according to your speed while approaching a stoplight or stopping and in the 2018 it doesn’t do that it rises up to about 1.5 rpms! You will probably not noticed that if you’ve never driven a Nissan with a CVT in it! I hope this helps and we get the these fixed!

This vehicle has a mind of its own!
My brand new 2018 Rogue automatic emergency braking system indicator flashed unnecessarily since the day I pick up the car. The automatic emergency braking system activated for no reason when it stopped the vehicle in the middle of a left turn with nothing in front of it but cars behind it that needed to turn into oncoming traffic to avoid rear ending my vehicle. I brought my car in for service after this incident and the dealership did not know how to fix it so they gave me a rental car while they waited for Nissan Corporate to tell them how to fix the problem. That was 4 weeks ago and Nissan Corporate in Tennessee informed me that the investigation will take another 4 weeks. I only drove the car for 700 miles and haven't seen it since. I feel that Nissan should acknowledge this dangerous safety issue and acknowledge that they are clueless on how to repair my vehicle and let me out of this lease. I have totally lost faith in this brand and I do not trust the so called safety features that Nissan is not standing behind. Nissan Corporate quoted that they are only following my states lemon law which is not true because the law states that the car must be repair three times with the same issue and they don't even know how to fix it so that makes the lemon law not apply to this situation.

Great vehicle but.....
I love my 2018 rogue but...i only have 5000 miles on it and it doesnt want to shift when the transmission is cold..it whines itself out to almost 5000 rpm before it shifts..then after it warms up, it shifts just fine. I didnt pay nissan 30,000 dollars for a car that gonna mess up at 5000 miles. Fix the issue

Navigation, radio, phone turns on and off frequent
Navigation, radio, phone turns on and off frequently. When I use Bluetooth or pair my iPhone 7 The welcome screen will go on and off about three times per minute, either disconnecting your Phone conversation, shutting off navigation and welcome screen coming back on from the start. Have been there to fix it three times and same problem every time and has yet to be fixed. Have had car three months and have are used to drive to dealer and back. I have only had the car three days in three months. The plus side is the people at Nissan and consumer affairs Nissan are as helpful as they can possibly be under the circumstances. I love the car and when they replace this one with one that doesn’t have that problem I will lease another Rogue . This is my first bad experience out of leasing 10 Nissan’s . I have had 3 Quests 3 Muranos and this will be my 4th Rogue. This is the only problem I have ever had in all the time I’ve dealt with Nissan and it’s employees. They have been as helpful as possible, returned money for the time it was in shop for extended periods and have been generous with loaner cars .Shaina The manager was a tremendous asset as was Brian in the service department. I have been a customer for close to 20 years and have leased 10 vehicles from this location in Huntington. Unfortunately this last vehicle (2018 rogue) has been a nightmare. Despite that, everyone in the dealership and at the consumer affairs at Nissan has been courteous kind and helpful as possible to make this experience one that would keep me as a customer. To this point they have been as helpful and courteous as possible to make this experience as easy as possible despite the bad experience with this particular automobile. I have never had a bad experience before this. And they are doing the best they can to make things right. I have had three Rogues in the past, This is my first bad experience, but plan on getting a different Rogue to replace the one I have now. They are doing what they can to make me satisfied. I have no affiliation have been regular customer. Unfortunately the vehicle I received has a problem that has not been fixed although the best attempts were made. The flaw in the vehicle has not been fixed after numerous attempts. I believe it’s the vehicle and not the service. I believe they have done their best to resolve a problem that cannot be a resolved . I have been told that they will be exchanging the vehicle with an identical one without the problem.

Best mid-size SUV in the market!
Update 4/2022: I returned my car last year after the lease was up. I loved it. However, the last month I experienced two instances going uphill, slowly, in a parking garage where my transmission completely slipped and would not continue to move forwards. I actually had to stop, shift to park, then back to drive to move. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with the incline, the slow speeds, and the wet pavement (maybe traction control kicking in?) but it was of slight concern. My friend with a 2017 Rogue with about 65k miles on it experienced the very same thing but she was in the middle of the street in manhattan and i believe she was told it was transmission-related. Thats my only new concerns, other than that I think it's still a great car I'm just hesitant of the CVT transmission. (I believe they are switching about to 7 to 9-speed in some models for 2023) I write this review after having this vehicle for 3 years on a lease, Rogue SV. I cannot say anything but praises about this vehicle. When I was searching for a vehicle, I was looking for sporty, reliable, AWD, quality that is wallet friendly. I can honestly say I got all of that with this vehicle. The Rogue is the highest selling mid-size SUV for a reason. Let's start with sporty. I was not the biggest fan of the initial redesign in 2014 (?). I thought it had too much chrome around the taillights and was too bubbly. In 2017, they redesigned it again with just enough line correction to give it that sporty feel. It also came with a standard sport spoiler, which adds to the sporty feel. This is not a BMW, but if you put it in sport mode, you get the pick up you desire. Reliability has fortunately been something of Nissan for a while now. They are quality cars. Though mine is only three years old, I known many people with 80k+ miles on theirs (2015-2016) and they have not had any issues yet. That isn't to say there are outliers that will be faulty. But as a whole it is great. The brakes are wonderful and the transmission is smooth. I previously lived in a more rural area of PA which gets it's 1-2x snowfall of 8+ inches a year. 6 months after getting the Rogue (Nov '18), we were hit by a surprise snow storm of about 8-10 inches. I was commuting into a city that day amongst the snowstorm. As cars to the left and right of me were getting stuck going up city hills, I was plowing through with hardly any feels of traction control kicking in. It's conversion to AWD is SMOOTH. I feel very safe in rain and snow in this vehicle. The quality build of this vehicle is apparent. Leather wrapped steering wheel and center console. Quality plastic. Standard heating seats and wheel in the SV trim. Standard tires that have yet to slip in ALL conditions. And storage design is key. I have moved 4 separate apartments (of friends) with this SUV and I swear I was able to move everything in 3-4 trips. You can pack a surprising amount of cargo into the trunk with the rear seats down. And the rear hatch has a great convex design that allows for packing in to the very end of the trunk. The rear floor also lifts up to create a shelf in the trunk which is perfect for additional storage. I have the SV trim as already stated, which came with the Bose sound system and panoramic moon roof. The get similar features in the Mazda CX5, I would have had to pay 2-3k more for the next trim up. And personally, I felt very "squeezed in" driving the CX5. The Rogue is very open (I'm 5'8" 165lb). The only cons are the moon roof "vent" setting hardly even opens and it is easy to forget to close (like when going through a carwash, ugh). Luckily, being that it doesn't open far, not much water gets in. It also would have been nice to have the panoramic moon roof open (normally) larger than a standard moon roof. The Subaru Forrester panoramic moonroof practically makes it a convertible. I also have had some issues with the Apple CarPlay, having to replug in my phone while driving due to glitches. But honestly, that's the worse I have to say about out. If it weren't for Nissan making me pay to "certify" it to get the used car warrantee to buy it out after the lease (2k) I would have purchased this vehicle.

Awesome and fun to drive SUV!
I compared several mid size SUV's and the Nissan Rogue won my heart and my pocketbook! It is an overall great vehicle and I am very pleased with my Rogue AWD! I have had it for over a year now and I am having a great time driving it! I especially love the great safety features that I did not have in my 2008 Honda Accord. The Rogue's safety features have prevented me from getting into several accidents so far!

Never Nissan. Never again
Transmission fail at 79,000 miles. I'm in sales so 90% all highway miles. Had to pay $3850 for this. Nissan has never called to offer any feedback on this. I tell everyone now. "Never Nissan"

Nissan Lease Facts
Before I leased from Nissan, I had a Ford Explorer, any time I had an issue while under warranty, they would take care of it at no cost. Nissan is different, I leased a Rogue about 4 months ago and ran into a slight problem and took it to Nissan Service shop, and was told that i had to pay a $200 diagnostic fee. Why should I pay for a car that's not even a few months old, isn't there a warranty. Before leasing from Nissan, check GMC, they don't charge while the car is under warranty

Don't buy Nissan Rogue
Nissan Rogues has lots of issues. My car is drifting to the right. This is not a alignment issue. I cannot keep it straight without correcting it every 2 seconds. My hands are paining to keep the car straight on the road. I went to multiple dealers but are not able to fix my problem. May be because my car is in warranty they are waiting for my warranty to get over. So they can charge me for the services. Do not buy Nissan cars. I currently own a Nissan. This would be my last Nissan.

Nice vehicle if everything worked
Be careful to read the fine print. Our 2015 AWD Nissan Rogue SV was great. It was black and we needed a lighter colored vehicle with updated safety features as we moved to a warmer climate. So leased a 2018 FWD Nissan Rogue SV. The mechanicals all work very well. Don't expect much from the electronics and beware that the lane departure warning feature was removed. We didn't realize that and on the narrow winding VA roads it was very useful for us on the 2015. SO BE SURE you have all of the details correct before you even take it for a test drive. The navigation is worthless IMHO. 5 times it failed to notify us to turn, twice the system rebooted at two critical intersections where we really needed it and it continues to reboot whenever it likes. Other navigation features don't work at all, like the door to door option. They claim that it is the Apple Iphone updates that cause the issue. So you can't update past IO 10.?? I think Nissan went with a 2015 or earlier version of Tom Tom for the 2018, the 2015 was using Garmin, however I can't say that for a fact although Nissan reps mentioned that in their conversations. This was supposed to be a huge improvement from what we were told. I disagree. Be careful using the active cruise control. If the car you are following and it is monitoring switches lanes and you are coming up quickly on a stopped car, it won't help you until you are about to crash, although I've never let it go that far. If everything worked correctly and if it had the lane departure warning, I'd be happy with this vehicle.

Glad I took a leap of faith...
This vehicle is amazing. Driving is so much fun. I’ve never had a Nissan, and I’m glad I decided to test drive one, and make a purchase. My kids love the panoramic moon roof. The Bose speakers are super clear too.

Poor quality
1. When I stop the car in front of a red traffic light signal or get stuck in traffic and the lever in position "D" my back feels vibration. I see the passenger seat swinging. I put my hand on the headrest and feel the vibration. 2. When I keep the speed of 30 ... 35 mph I feel the vibration on the steering wheel, I hear the hum from the transmission, the rear-view mirror has an oscillation. 3. When I drive a car on the road, the wheel crosses a pit or knob, the right rear seat shakes noisily. 4. When I drive car 70 mph and push brake pedal gently I feel pulse beat on steering wheel. 5. I stopped on red light, while I release brake pedal I hear sound like “click”. 6. Right windshield viper has stop position in front of my eyes. I have spot on windshield in the field of view. 7. Uncomfortable driver seat. 8. When I was washing the car at the car wash, the tailgate spontaneously opened. I'm afraid to visit the automatic car wash because it may cause an accident. 9. Kick moving liftgate doesn’t work properly.

Audio Issues
The Nissan Rogue 2018 defaults to audio on each time the car is shut down for 15 minutes. I am told it is a software issue that effects all 2018 Nissen Rogues. I purchased my car in January of this year and have been attempting to get this fixed since then speaking to 3 dealerships, the factory, a Nissan USA rep, their Consumer Affairs division... all to no avail. I cannot believe their callous unconcern. All too happy to take my money however.

Rogue SL AWD
I am leasing this car for 3 years. I have already started doing research to find a new car and it has only been 1 year. I like this car, I don't love many things about it. I'm 5'4" tall, the number 1 issue I have is visibility, or actually I should say lack of visibility, which translates to safety. I like sitting low in my cars, but with this one the side mirrors and the bar at the side of the windshield are so large that they actually block out an entire car coming from either the left or the right side. I have had so many near misses in this year of driving my Rogue, because I could not see the cars at an intersection coming from the left or the right. I raised my seat to it's maximum height, because of someone's suggestion, but that does little to help with visibility. I have to lift myself off of my seat at an intersection to see over the mirrors on either side. It makes it a scary vehicle to drive at times. It is a little sluggish too. I think there should be an option for a 6 cylinder, without the continuous shifting. For a car that costs this much, I can't imagine why part of the seats are cloth instead of leather. One other thing I like about this car is all of the options it comes with. I love the remote start, heated steering wheel, although I wonder why it is only heated in certain areas; the eco drive and auto liftgate, the trunks versatility is wonderful also. The sunroof or moonroof is wonderful too, so big that everyone comments on it when they see it open. I have all but one option, and that is the one that holds the car in a lane. This car has just enough of everything, meaning options. Just last month, was the 1 year mark, now my navigation can't be heard over the radio, no matter how low I turn the radio down or turn it up, the navigation sounds like a whisper. There have been a few other issues with it, but nothing major so far, but it's only been a year.

Rodney Dangerfield of SUVs
Pros: Great road car. Perfect for family trips at freeway speeds. Very comfortable seats. Larger than others in its class. Gas MPG 31. Cons: Crude infotainment screen that washes out in sunlight. Reputation for fragile drive train.

New 2018 Rogue SL w/full option set
This is my 3rd Nissan Rogue (2010 SL, 2016 SL and now 2018 SL - also had two Altima SL). Finish of the 2018 is very good and the feature set is complete (tan leather seats, full sunroof, 19" wheels, BOSE sound, etc.). Limited leg room for tall drivers (I am 6'3" and the seat is as far back as it can go). You need to get used to the auto safety features (braking, steering, etc.) but they do work as advertised. As usual, the 2.5L and CVT is sluggish with high RPM and medium acceleration. Fuel economy is as expected but I need more time to really see. Had the Rogue for two weeks now and as it was the case for my previous Rogue vehicles, I have not experienced any issues. One glitch which doesn't affect the vehicle is Nissan Connect. Seems like when the vehicle left the factory they messed up the ID number (not VIN) so Nissan Connect cannot "connect". Been working with them and they are making the necessary changes on their end as I gave them the numbers they needed. Waiting for Nissan Connect to work. My Summary: A good value crossover although not the best.

Good Value, but some annoyances
I am leasing a very loaded SL with almost every option. I think Edmunds is right on two points - the SV with the premium package is probably a better deal. The CVT transmission is sluggish. You have to step on it when going up a hill or getting onto the highway. At cruising speed it's fine, and local driving it's fine. The flip side is the gas mileage is very good for its size. The Pro-Pilot feature is very cool, especially on long trips. This technology will get better and better. I didn't find a visibility problem while driving. The rear view mirror isn't so great for me, but I'm used to side view mirrors from my ambulance and fire engine days. Like another reviewer said, I doubt I will buy this at the end of the lease. The SUV is common as fleas, and the tech inside will probably be expensive to fix down the road. I would be very open to upgrading before my lease expires. Oh, my kids love the sunroof and moon roof combination.

Best SUV/CUV for the $$$ CVT solid
Aside from defective timing chain tensioners that bleed down and allow a slight bit of rattle on warm and sometimes cold start, this has been the best bang for the buck in my 40+ years of INDEPENDENT lubricants and fuels testing of automotive applications. Car achieves 40+ MPG if driven at reasonable speeds ( speed limit) and CVT was flawless. I analyzed engine oil and CVT fluids for 2 years and 47,000 miles of use in far west texas brutal dust and high desert mountains and have nothing but praise for it. I would not have traded it out except it was the 2 WD version and we needed 4WD.

Best first car!
I bought a 2018 rogue S model in November as my first car. It has everything I need at an affordable price. Great infotainment system, apple car play, great stereo, handling, blind spot monitor, backup camera, and VERY comfortable seats! I feel extremely safe driving it and the fuel economy is awesome for my long drive to work. The only thing I wish I could change is the engine power. I knew before buying my rogue that it would have a slightly underpowered engine, but that’s the least of my worries. If I was concerned about speed I would have gone with BMW. The rogue is an awesome car for the price, I’m glad I chose it over the Honda CRV!

My Rogue Fancy
I’ve always owned Nissan Altima but this is my first rogue. I purchased the 2018 SL AWD and Love It! She has a nice look, very comfortable and al lot more bells and whistles than a lot of other SUV’s in its class. It may be a little sluggish at first getting up to speed but it can fly. You can also use sport mode which will help with that also. I’m not impressed with the Bose System. Everyone that gets to ride in my Rogue call her Fancy so the name stuck. Test Drive a Rogue if your looking for a small SUV that gives great gas mileage, All the Bells and whistles and safety features. I recommend the SL and SV

STOP! BUYER BEWARE!
I bought my 2018 with only 18 miles. The CVT transmission was a TOTAL disappointment. I started having problems about the 20,000 miles. I am a hospice caregiver and Uber driver. I am very active in my car. I took my car in fir a oil change and learned quickly that 5,000 was top for oil change (more money more money). I 10,000 on my Honda Accord. After the oil change with THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP, the car performance started going down hill. The DEALERSHIP said i needed a new motor AND they sent me to the new car sales department to purchase a NEW CAR....WTH? A 2018 ALREADY NEEDING A NEW MOTOR AND WITH ONLY 30,000 MILES.

Will not be buying another Rogue
I previously owned the 2009 Rogue SL AWD & I loved it. It didn't have all of the bells & whistles, but she was beautiful & ran great. I now have the 2016 Rogue SV AWD & am very disappointed. First of all, I do a lot of long distance driving & find the driver's seat extremely uncomfortable. In addition, the GPS is absolutely terrible & unreliable. Literally, from the day I drove it off the lot, it took me to the wrong place! So many roads/routes are mislabeled or nonexistent. The Bluetooth system is also unreliable. I cannot tell you how many times I have had dropped calls or people cannot understand what I am saying or I cannot understand them. In addition, the voice recognition software does not work! I'll say "call Mary" and it comes up that there are several options for this name - none of which sound anything like Mary! (i.e., "Jeff"). Overall, the car may look pretty, but there is no substance to back it up; no where near the price I have paid.

One star on the navigation system.
Who ever designed the navigation system was not thinking how inconvenient it would be that you can not pull up a restaurant or hotel while in motion. Do they know how danerous it is to pull over on side of the road. There should be away for the passenger to use the navigation system. Fix the problem Nissian!

Dont Buy!
I bought this car 11 days ago. Only 4 miles on it brand new 2018. 6 days later the right car door was bouncing like a ball not wanting to close for 10 minutes. Then when it finally closed it sealed shut tight. Leaving my son with a door that cant even open now. I took it to the dealer for a warranty fix. They said the lock was defective. Not reassuring when you have 4 children like I do. I dont even feel safe in it and they wont let me return it for a different model suv.

A rugged Rogue
The Rogue faces tough competition from Honda for price and reliability. The Rogue still has a few issues with road noise, but we've been buying Nissans, including Frontiers, since 1993 and have yet to be disappointed. Hopefully, we'll continue to be satisfied and so far it appears we will.
