My wife and I purchased a top of the line 2022 Pathfinder Platinum, 4 wheel drive from Classic Nissan in Newport News VA late last year. We traded in our 2018 Armada which was way to large and made my wife car sick as it swayed so much when going down the road. We had to pay a deposit and wait 2-3 weeks until the vehicle was delivered to the dealership and then pay a large dealer markup above MSRP and then had to get a $1250 vehicle protection spray. Every single person sitting in front passenger seat complains that it is too low...and there is no adjustment. The passenger seat is 7- way adjustable while the drivers seat is 10 way with the capacity to move it up and down. The salesman sat in the passenger seat during our test drives. It is not only uncomfortable with limited visibility for shorter individuals, but taller people do not have enough leg room as the seat sits too low. Obvious NISSAN knows there is a problem as the 2023s are identical in every way, except they have the same 10-way seat adjustments on both front seats! REALLY?? The dealership has been unresponsive so far even though I went there and talked with the sales manage and service personnel, and the sales manager and I looked at both new 2022 and 2023 models they now have on the lot. He didn't believe me at first (said he never knew of this) but sure enough he saw. He was going to discuss a solution with the manager and promised to call me that afternoon...almost four days later and nothing. Not only is it uncomfortable for everyone but I believe it is VERY DANGEROUS for shorter people and children as there's a good chance the air bag could hit them squarely in the head (not chest) if deployed. I believe there should be a recall on this model. That is not our only complaint about this vehicle but it's one that is very worrisome and needs an immediate remedy before someone is killed by their actions. Just Google "Pathfinder front passenger seat" and you can see how widespread the problem is.

I test drove the Pathfinder yesterday. The car was great BUT I'm 5'4 and the seat doesn't go up high enough for me to see over the bulky front end. I actually hit a curb while test driving because I just could not see. The dealership offered me a pillow if I buy the car. No thanks.

STILL DISAPPOINTED IN NISSAN

I purchased my 2022 Pathfinder Platinum February, 2022.The car drove fine during the test drive and did fine until a couple of months later. First issue was hearing a flapping noise in the sunroof area. Especially during and after raining. I took it to the dealership and of course they didn't hear the noise. I took it two more times as the noise was getting louder and louder. Also could hear water run all the way down the Panoramic sunroof from the front to the back. They then suggested I record the sound and that would help them. I did so, took it to them and let them listen. They checked it out and then came and told me they couldn't hear it and they would have to hear the sound themselves before trying to fix the issue. I've had the car 1 1/2 years and they still can not hear the issue so therefore it is not fixed. I have already had to have CV joints replaced at just 6 months. I was told I needed new tires after only 20,000 miles. There is so much rattling going on in the dash that is really annoying. The display rattles and at times I just pull it forward a little and have to hold it to keep it from rattling. The dash goes blank while driving, the radio cuts off at times. My ac stopped blowing cold air in July 2023. They first said it had too much freon in it and that would cause it not to cool. Which if it had too much freon, the manufacturer is responsible since I've not added any to it. I asked them to please check the compressor because as I told them when the ac stopped cooling it was making an awful noise. They assured me they had already checked it and the problem was too much freon. After they still had my car an hour later I went to check to see what the problem was. They then tell me it was the compressor after all. I was very disappointed that a new car had to have a compressor replaced. They ordered it and couldn't give me a loaner, so I had to drive my car with no air for two weeks in 102 degree weather waiting on the compressor to come in. It has now been replaced just this week and I am anxious about what will go wrong next. I really hate that this car has so many issues. I would never recommend a Pathfinder to anyone. Still having issues with my Nissan. I have taken my car to them many times and each time they do not hear the noise in the roof of my car. Radio stops working all the time, dash goes blank often. I will never buy another Nissan

I do not recommend buying one and regret getting 1

I purchased my 2022 pathfinder in August of 2021. I traded in my 2015 Murano Platinum. I feel it was a huge mistake and am kicking myself. I have several Issues with it. The shifter was stuck in Neutral and would only go in N and Reverse. I had to drive home backwards over a mile. I had to have it towed to the dealer. The passengers seat is too low and doesn’t adjust, the passengers seat belt has to be fastened when no one is in it or it dings. The screen for the navigation and controls goes black randomly. A couple times it would come back on when the car was shut off and restarted. The drivers side heated seat didn’t work from day 1. Front end has a shaking when braking and driving at over about 55 mph. I have been locked out of the car and had to call roadside assistance in a rain storm. I had it to the dealer for a couple weeks. They said the shifter was dirty and so was the seat belt on the passengers side. I’m sure they didn’t know what was wrong so they said it was dirty to cover their lack of knowledge. After being in the shop the car will go into Neutral while driving randomly. I almost got ran over by a semi on I-95. It also happened in the middle of a busy intersection. The auto stop/start feature needs to be able to be turned off and only used if the customer chooses. Gas door comes opened during high winds and in the car wash, needs to be able to lock. Rear passenger doors don’t open from the inside of the vehicle at random. The heat blows cold air unless you crank it up as high as it will go and still doesn’t get hot enough. Sounds like one of the passengers side windows is opened when driving and is loud. A few times the car wouldn’t start. The first time it happened after I had it in aux mode for about 20 minutes so I figured that was why and then it’s happened a couple times after that, the car was completely dead and it was late at night on a dark road. The interior design is not the best as far as the console. The change compartment is next to the shifter and money can slide under it. The aux plugs are in the back of the cubby and finding them is inconvenient and you have to move everything in there to get to it. The internet feature has to be subscribed to for after the trial and I am unable to ad it to my AT&T account and would have to have a separate account for it and I won’t do that. It should be free considering the issues with the car. It could leave someone in an unsafe situation. My remote start doesn’t work half the time either. There are serious electrical problems with this car. I do not feel safe driving it at all. It has lost power on hills a few times. It is sometimes slow shifting into gears at slower speeds. Backing up with a small trailer the back up sensor will not allow you to back up without having to sit and go through the functions to find the turn off. The cruise control wouldn’t engage the couple times I tried to use it. My Murano was great, I never had a problem with it. I would not recommend anyone purchase the Pathfinder. I miss my Murano and the only reason I traded it was because it had the CVT transmission and had started acting up sometimes. I paid a lot of money for this car and if I try to trade it in I’ll take a serious loss. I drive a lot and am on the road late at night a lot of times and worry about my safety. I wish Nissan would buy it back and fix the issues before someone is killed or injured badly. #Nissan #2022NissanPathfinder

Needs Work

When purchasing this vehicle, at first sight I was pleased. However, when sitting on the inside the seats are extremely low. The drivers side height can be adjusted but the passenger side is awful. When it's cold in the mornings, the dash lights flash. The touchscreen display goes black and sometimes it comes back on and other times you have to turn the car off to reset and it may come back on. The apple carplay feature doesn't always work so you may end up holding the phone to answer a call. The display screen also freezes and will not allow you to hang up a call. This vehicle is not air tight. The wind noise when on the highway is extremely loud and the heater is very loud and takes forever to heat up.
