Irritating SUV

Handy andy, 12/04/2022
2022 Nissan Pathfinder SV 4dr SUV 4WD (3.5L 6cyl 9A)
4 of 9 people found this review helpful

Luckily I didn't buy this SUV, it's a company loaner. I'm going to be positive first. Interior is fairly nice. The door chimes, seat belt chimes, and the like are actually pleasant sounds and not irritating. The exterior styling is much improved from past models. Ok, I think thats where the positive comments end. Here's why I would NEVER buy this car. The door hinges are awful. The door constantly whiplashes you when opening. You can't just fling it open and the door position stops keep it from flopping back. And I'm talking on flat ground with a mild opening push. The hinges alone would keep me from buying this. Second, the car has heated seats but not heated steering wheel? Wtf...? The lift gate isn't power operated, and would really be better if it opened another inch or two. The lift gate lock is slow. When you press the paddle to open it it cycles the lock and takes a couple seconds before you can open it. My Ford explorer limited is opened by the time the pathfinder unlocks itself. Remote start is finicky. Works about 1/2 the time. The auto start/stop is jarring when it kicks the engine back on. You better have your foot firmly on the brakes if you don't want to hit the other car. Both my previous Fords were silky smooth. Door handle touch pads to lock the car are finicky. Seems like I have to touch it 2-4 times to get them to work. Engine/transmission is ok. I've definitely driven worse. Gas mileage does seem to be pretty poor for a car of this size. I'm pretty sure my explorer and f150 both get better mpg. All in all, I can't wait to return this loaner.

I recently purchased a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder base model and there are a few things I don't like about it compared to my former 2015 base model Pathfinder. For instance, the front driver seat is manual, I was told by the salesperson who sold me the vehicle that onstar came standard in the vehicle, which it doesn't. Last but not least, the safety brake feature is responds too slow and the speed is like driving on cruise control, not high powered.

I purchased the 2022 pathfinder platinum 2 months ago. I immediately noticed the windshield glass was distorted. I brought it to 2 nissian dealers who told me “this is how it is”. The glass is so distorted that when I turn the vehicle objects are actually blurry. After feeling like it was “me” and I was crazy..I had multiple friends and family members sit in my car. Every single person can see the distortion. It actually makes me have motion sickness when I am the passenger. I have such buyers remorse. Also, the left side view mirror vibrates like crazy when I drive. Again, nissian dealership told me “that’s how it is” and there is nothing they can do. While the car looks beautiful, it feels like a piece of junk. I would never buy again. I am very dissatisfied.

Lovely interior, great exterior. Not the greatest power but durable and reliable with no power adders. New trans hopefully as good as it sounds and better then the previous cvt transmission.

2022 SL. So I disagree with the review on the seats. I test drove most competitors, and the comfu seats of the pathfinder is the reason I bought it. I dont love the crash warnings, but i think that is most modern cars. Otherwise, I am a satisfied customer

I loved this car it's my wife's alot room I came from nothing so to me this is the best car I've ever had Paid Straight Cash the volume on the radio for some reason stopped working one day and came back tho weird. For all the money I feel they should have added the parking Assistant sometimes the auto shutoff doesn't work from time to time and cruise control is difficult to access if you don't remember how to engage it. Overall im happy so far with this suv very big roomy kids will love the inside because they have so many options lol

I love the looks of the vehicle and was looking forward to getting out of the CVT in the Murano. Decided to do a short term lease on the SV and I can’t wait to get ride of it. The SEATS are way to too low! If they do not do a recall on the seats I will not get another. I am 5’8” and with the seat as high as I go I feel not properly high enough. My wife is the same height and she looks straight into the dash board. We now both have cushions. Like the roominess. Way to many electronics going on with driving aids, etc…also the infotainment system is temperamental like the Murano. The gear shifter park/stop is confusing and frustrating still. I have to turn to many things off to make my drive enjoyable.

Constantly stops short of full when refueling. Brought to Nissan for under warranty diagnosis. They simply checked to see if it returned any error codes nothing further.

What a fun Auto

I traded my 2019 Murano for this 2022 Pathfinder Platinum in May of this year. The comfort is outstanding! It rides great and I am surprised by the power and pickup for a car of this size. I do I live in Maine and the snow drive feature worked great along with the sand setting which got us out of my Daughters new camp site by the lake. When we went to see the new camp she said I should bring the 4 wheel drive truck but I did want to try out the pathfinder and it did just fine. Also the camp is 2 hrs away and the ride up couldn't have been more pleasant. The stereo system was one of the best I have experienced. I have used the paddle shifter which is really not needed and the hands free driving works but you have to touch the steering wheel so often you might as well keep your hands on the wheel. This car came with all the options and you don't have to think to much to operate it. It does most of the options automatic it you would like. They were also right when they said it went from 0 to 60 in about 6.7 seconds and I have had it up to 110 MPH on the divided highway. All in all I am more than happy with this vehicle. Thanks Bernie Lontine York Maine

Should have gotten the Ford Explorer

Styling nice but first month of ownership the front heated seat did not work, the dealership had it for about a week to repair. The info screen goes blank offen, the dealership reprogram the system. Then at 15000 miles the back brakes completely gone. I complained to the dealership they were in disbelief also. They wanted $700.00 dollars to fix since warranty doesn't cover brakes.i complained to Nissan consumer affairs they did investigation and said nothing they can do. The dealership says it's because the vehicle is equipped with e brake and lane keeping assist. Says to not use those features we paid over 50k for.says the systems causing the brakes to wear. But after I complained about this over two weeks they fix it as a good faith issue, no cost to us. then a 10 months later same issue again. But its on us now. I hated that I convinced my wife to buy the Pathfinder because we could not find her the Ford Explorer she wanted because of covid and low dealer inventory at the time (10/2021). Also she paid 5k dealer markup when she purchased it. The 2022 Pathfinder is the worst new car we ever purchase. We had it at the dealership for small fixes like trim coming loose to major items.

2022 Patfinder Platinum owner for 2 years. No significant issues found Very comfortable Gas consumption for me has been excellent usually between 9 - 10.5 litres per 100 kms nothing to complain about it’s about how the vehicle is driven. Only concern: during winter months colder temps colder than -30 degrees the info inter freezes and needs about 10-15 minutes for the vehicle to warm up before the info centre will engage. Nissan replaced mine but it didn’t fit it. The vehicle has performed as one might expect otherwise, I have enjoyed my Pathfinder. I have ordered a 2024 model so that speaks volumes

Faulty Brake System

Mrs. A, 10/25/2023
2022 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum 4dr SUV 4WD (3.5L 6cyl 9A)
0 of 1 people found this review helpful

Although I have enjoyed driving my 2022 Nissan Pathfinder, something seems to be wrong with the brake system. I had the car less than 1 year and had to replace the whole back brakes because they wore out quickly. This is unheard of on a vehicle with less than 12,000 miles! Especially back brakes. When I spoke to the dealership that sold us the vehicle, we were quite disappointed in the run-a-round we received. Nissan did not want to take responsibility for the bad brake system wearing out so quickly, they simply said it was a wear and tear item and not under warranty. This cost us over $1,000 to fix. 5 months later I took the car in for an oil change and already, the brake pads went from 8mm down to 5mm in just that amount of time. Clearly something is wrong. I had to bring it up because the service advisor just pushed the paperwork to me to sign and said nothing about their findings. When I asked about the back breaks wearing out again already, he said oh you’re still good, you’re 1 column away from being in the red! At this point my husband and I wished we would have gone with our gut and bought a Toyota like last time. What’s troubling is Nissan will not take responsibility for the brake problem. I called the Nissan customer service, but they too did nothing to help. My advise- do your checking before you purchase a Nissan Pathfinder, especially the 2022.
