After many hours of reviews, I decided to purchase the 3.5 Altima. With the added HP and the spacious room ... baby on the way ... I couldn't go wrong. The car's a bullet! Gotta love that award winning V6. Almost a year into ownership and nothing has gone wrong. When it's time to replace this, there will have to be something special out there for me to get something different that an Altima!

Cure For The common Car

The 2005 Nissan Altima is different from the other mid-sized cars. It feels like a sports car. It has a great sound system, and great sounding 2.5 l I-4. The example that I own is a 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5S with a 4 speed Automatic transmission. It has an base MSRP of 19,500. My example has an MSRP of 23,000. The transmission shifts at just the right moments, however the shifts are very noticable. The interior is all new, and Nissan did a wonderful job with the interior. The plastics are high quality, and the design does not look cheap. The engine has 175 hp, and can make it to 60 mph in an average 7.5 seconds from a standstill. As the sticker on the car says "Cure For the Common Car".

tupperware car - beautiful to look at but build quality and materials are junk. it has been in the shop more times than i can count with a less than helpful dealership(stealership). had problems starting, ABS light came on for no reason, crank position sensor went, bouncy ride/rear shocks lack rebound damping, intermittent buzzing from under dash area, turn signals stop clicking, lots of rattles etc. Stay away from this one and buy a camry or accord.

This car is an extraordinary pleasure and alot of fun to drive. Zero to 60 in 6 seconds should be 4 seconds---it moves. It is comfortable and I feel very safe in this car. Unless something changes I will continue to buy the Altima. PS: My husband perfers my Altima over his V6 Camry.

I love my Altima. I have the luxury of a high priced designer vehicle without the dent in my wallet. I didn't realize that 4 cylanders had such great pickup. It's a pretty car, it's a peppy car, it's a reliable car. Why spen more?
