3000gt
Recently purchased my GT from a second owner changed the timing belt, battery, water pump, alternator, new tires, all fluids changed, tune-up, cleaned and polished inside and out. After all that took "Jade" for a slow spin down by the beach I believe the car received as many looks as some of the other beauties. The Mitsu performance is definitely worth mentioning as well, road hugging, tight steering and ample gas peddle for increased speed above 120 mph. One time good deal but quite refreshing. Excellent driving experience from a truly great automobile. Get one you will love it too.

General Review 1995 3000GT 3.0 V6 MT Base
It's fun to drive, lots of power, good handling , and everything i've expected from a good sports car. As well as minimal comfort and spacing. And no cup holders! I guess i shouldn't be drinking anything in this car and expect not to spill. This monster can zoomm. It takes me to places everyday since the day i bought it 11 years ago. Transmission was rebuilt about 5 yrs ago.

Speed Demon!!!!!!!
This vehicle was fun from day 1. I get lot's of looks and I can drive fast. Before you buy this car you need to check these 2 things! 1) Headlight Assemblies.(They are expensive so you need to check and make sure there is no moisture, cracks, and the paint is good finding a black headlight is a miracle) 2) Timing Belt.If the timing belt has not been changed, you should change it ASAP.Supposed to be changed every 60,000 miles.(If it breaks you are out an engine.Cost with parts and Labor around $600.00 at a non-dealer shop) Other than those two important things this Car is a dream!
1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT
My 3000 has been the car of my dreams with one exception, it's a bit pricey to fix and find parts now. I've driven my 3000 to long beach and back from sacramento and loved the smooth handling and comfortable interior every mile. It can even withstand a 90-100 mph long distance drive like that, no problem. This car has had no problems as long as you can afford to keep it regularly maintained, and it is sensitive to the deadlines of the services so plan ahead. I'm over six feet tall and it is my daily commuter and I can get into my 3000gt with ease and grace.
Purchased new 14 years ago
I remember driving her off the lot 14 years ago and feeling like a million bucks. I still get that feeling today as this car is ageless. The body style is still far ahead of its time. She runs as well today and looks beautiful!. Have had regular maintenance, put on Faulken tires and she purrs. Great gas mileage too. About 29 on the highway. Edmunds has truly misjudged this car. It will be a "collectors car" as there are very few of them around. Still get heads turning and people stopping to look at her. Fabulous acceleration with the "power" button. Beautiful car that still seats 4 people.
3000 GT SL
I love this car. People ask me all the time what year it is and when I tell them 95 they are very surprised. It looks brand new. It drives like brand new. it turns heads everywhere. If you want the looks of a 100,000 car, but don't want to pay the money, this is the car for you. Be careful other sports will want to race.
My week end GT
The car is fun to drive with a 5 speed manual trans. The car was built in 1994 and is sold in this country in 1995 it is now over 20 years old and still runs great. How ever any one buying one of these will see the maintenance cost is high, ie. clutch, crank shaft seal, timing belt, struts. The parts are not expensive its the labor required to make the repair. All ways keep this in mind when buying a 3000GT if you have the time and the equipment your self to do the work its not bad.

The Ultimate AWD Sports Car
The 3000GT VR-4 is the best all around sports car for the money. It is fast, fun and hard to beat. Its loaded with performance features and can be easily modified with big horsepower gains if desired. The 300ZX is just too small a car, and the Supra can't match the launch of the AWD 3000GT. Go with the Mitsubishi, you won't regret it.
Better then it looks
Have a 95 VR4. Have fixed the rear spoiler that goes up and down 3 times at the same place in one month. Was out of waranty but Mitsu picket up the bill because the dealer screwed up 2 repairs. Have changed nothing but spark plugs at 60K, oil every 3K, and tires at about 30K. Thats it, no other repair ! You tell me what else is so reliable? With twin turbos ? Speed as long as you know how to shift it relatively fast at the start up, and will accelarate with no problems going 120MPH. At 90-100 you feel like you are going 20 - change lanes, stop, sverve, the car is rock solid.
Best Car Ever
I can't tell you how many times people ask me in astonishment "What is that...a Ferrari?" Awesome Colletor's Item vehicle. Not just a car but an experience. Power and Looks to spare. Advanced features and timeless styling. I want to buy one for my wife as soon as we can afford another one. Buy one and you wont regret it.
3000GT
Bought it used, made some minor repairs. It is an awesome car to drive. Would not get rid of it for a long time to come.
In a class of it's own
877 of these cars were produced. The automatic hardtop was not available since the 1960s' Ford Skyliner. 17-inch tall, 8.5-inch wide chrome wheels and high performance tires are mated with an automatic/adjustable electronically controlled supension(ECS). All wheel drive(AWD) and all wheel steering(AWS) only add to the already impressive handling, despite the less-stiff structural design of a convertible. Computerized climate control completes the cockpit. The driving feel is great, but you can definately *feel* the road. Imperfections in the road sometimes causes the car to pull slightly.
Best car I have ever owned
After owning a 1996 VR4 coupe for almost 3 years I decided it was time to upgrade to the Spyder. This is by far the best car I have ever had the pleasure of driving. Everywhere you go, heads turn, people dont know what your driving, especially once they see the top in action. It is VERY rare to see one of these cars on the road. Unfortunately I had to sell my Spyder a few months ago, I plan on getting another one once finances allow me the freedom. Buy one, you will not regret it
if you love to drive, this is THE car
fun car to drive with great exterior styling and smart interior layout. its a solid, reliable car that attracts a lot of attention.
Great car, fun, reliable
The first thing i have to say is to the people that dont like the car, brakes are wearable, try not going 90 and trying to beak in 20ft. automatic transmissions go on any car if you beat on them. it is a great car and many people that put it down do not own one. As for gas milage my last tank of gas i got 450 miles out of it in the city. The vr4 has plenty of hp when it was only beat out by 2 cars on edmunds if you do some research in the 0-60 (5.4 seconds not to shabby), and it beat the corvette and porche 911 and the acura NSX. Great car great performance great gas milage and very reliable if you treat it good.
3000 GT-solid performer
Great car. Fast. Fun. I use M&S high performance tires but still can easily spin the tires in the winter months. I replaced the clutch (worn mostly from previous owner) and water pump/timing belt (please change both when doing this--cost of timing belt $700, and water pump $800 seperately, together only $900--get the picture. I love the car. A bit heavy when driven slow and very nimble when pushed. Nice ride. Independent suspension is very nice compared to the harsh ride of a Camaro (yes, I owned one). Corners great and looks good standing still. Taller folks would probaby rub their heads on the ceiling. It even passes the golf club bag test!
Love my Little Red Sports Car
This is my second RED 3000GT SL and I would buy a third if they still made them! Always getting people admiring and commenting on what a nice looking car it is. I just love driving it. I think it is time to trade it in but can't find anything even close that I like as much without spending over $50,000!! So I think I will just keep my adorable little red sports car for now.
Garage Queen
Had a 94 SL, loved it, 156K of no problems. Found '95 Spyder SL with just 12.5K on it and had to have it. My '94 coupe was a real hot rod, this car is a cruiser. They seem to hold their value but the best part is top down on a warm day. Everyone asked what it is and and compliments it, particularlt when lowering and raising the top.
Best Car Ever Made Exluding the Viper
I actually got this car for my birthday and I think this is the best car ever made. It looks awesome, drives awesomely, has PLENTY of power, and plus it is just plain FUN to drive.
fun
excellent car especially with the smooth automatic
cha
My experiance with this vehicle has been for lack of better words a hell of a good one!
Great Car
This car treats me very well. There were no major mechanical problems and it never broke down. I had to replace the water pump and timing belts recently but that was the extent of mechanical maintenance necessary.
fun car
its the best car i ever had
Fast and beautiful
In five years of ownership, I have had only one problem with this car: a bad synchro in the manual gearbox, which I think pre-existed my ownership. The red paint has held up beautifully despite constant sun exposure and it is as fast today as it was when I bought it. The leather interior is still flawless.
My First Import
I purchased my 1995 3000GT in 1999 with 20,000 miles on it. My current miles are 128,000.It handles very well at all speeds, but the small 3.0 six cylinder needs a little more torque for stoplight to stoplight performance. This car shows its stuff at higher speeds up to about 140. It is my first import and built impressively well. I wish I would have popped for the VR4. It would have solved the low speed torque issue.
SO HOT!
This beauty gets attention wherever she goes. This car is so fast and so fun, wow. It's too bad more people won't have an opportunity to drive one. (Mitsubishi made so few.) But now, it's rare and should hold (or increase in) its value. Anybody know what this car is really worth? Collectors should be clammoring for one before they're IMPOSSIBLE to find!
Changed it up!
I bought this car for styling purposes only. I took out the stock engine and replaced it with a supercharged Ford 5.0 Coyote and 6 speed gear box. The car looks the same on the outside but is now rear wheel drive with more power than I can handle really. I hate the fact that there are no real cup holders. I am always drinking soda. It also is hard for me to get in the car. I'm 6'2" and I have to crawl in carefully as to not rack my jewels on the steering wheel. I wish like heck it had an adjustable steering wheel.

Buy one or you're crazy
This was my dream car ever since the first time I seen it. It's got the looks of an extremely expensive car and its got the speed. It has not disappointed me yet. If you want to get somewhere on time this will get you there.
the best looking sports car ever
this is the best looking sports car ever for the price.it is a 1997 sl model. it turns more heads then any vette or mustang out there. i know i have owned 1 vette and 2 cobras.the accelleration is great. even better on the highway.the sl is much lighter then the vr-4.and with 218hp,it goes.i toped out at 158mph.this is deffinately the car to buy if you like to look good.
killer car reveiw
BEST CAR EVER MANUFACTURED!
Like no other car in the world!
I own a 97 Mitsu VR-4 so I'm familiar with the platform but when I bought a 95 Spyder a year ago, all I can say is wow! I've seen guys who drive Porsche, Ferarri, & BMW turn their heads to take a look at this thing. The retractable top is memorizing and the styling is over the top. People still ask if this is a new car. Although the retail value of these cars have declined over the years, I believe that they will eventually rise in value since there are so few vehicles out there.
Best "Man toy" you can buy.
All I can say is, get one. It is so much fun! I have had no problems with mine, and it has 129,000 miles (1,000 since the rebuild) on the body. Due a good re-build on it when you first get one and have fun.
Great, No big complaints
Well...let's see... I bought this car used from a fellow down the block, and ever since then i have loved it, it is great on the turns, and i have had no problems with the engine at all, accept for the 60,000 mile belt change. If you want to look good in a car, and not spend 200,000 on an old GTO, this is the way to go... great ride.
Just plain fun
95 VR4, garage kept in the winter. Can’t wait for spring. The feeling of it through country road curves is amazing. It just drives and pulls you into each curve the faster you go. I own a number of newer cars including a Cayman GTS and Mustang Bullit. Find myself picking the VR4 for the exhilarating drive every time. Best car I ever owned. Only complaints are constantly monitoring wear of timing belt and deteriorating headlamp covers but otherwise a dream.
Never buy another Mitsubishi
I've never had a sports car with so many problems. I bought it in 98 with 56K miles. In first month had to put in 4 new brake calipers. In 6 months the auto transmission went up . Thank God I bought an extended warranty, it cost $4K to put in a new one. I've owned Porsche's, Fiats, Hondas and they all handled better than this car. It even hydroplaned on wet roads, I was afraid to drive it. Just traded it in and was never so glad to get rid of a car!
