I do like the overall appearance and performance of the car. However, this car has been in for (mostly minor) repairs several times. The 3rd day I drove the car (brand new) there was a mechanical failure and it was in the shop for over a week. That was fixed and then I noticed the heating steering wheel did not work. I have taken it in 2-3 times and the steering wheel is not able to be fixed. Now for the last few months the Low Coolant Warning has been coming on. I took the car in and they topped it off but this didn’t fix the warning alert. I realize these are all minor issues, but with a new $85k+ car I did not expect to be in the shop so often, especially with problems that are not resolved. Also, the remote start does not work with this car. They should not advertise remote start if it does not work. After less than a year of owning the car it needed entirely new brakes and rotors, over $3000. I am not an aggressive driver and I drive on flat land and rarely exceed 60 mph. I didn’t understand why this was necessary but was told it was common due to the driving features. This didn’t seem correct to me because cars I’ve had in the past didn’t have this issue so early. I eventually traded the car after about a year. It was in the service department overnight on 5-6 different occasions, one time for an entire week. I felt like I was driving a loaner more than my own car. I would not recommend anyone purchase this vehicle.

When you pay for what you expect to be the best, then you should get the best...in every area. Unfortunately, I have found out otherwise. I have owned many other vehicles, foreign and domestic, for at a far lesser cost, that put the Mercedes to shame. The navigation and Mercedes Me Apps are worthless, and nothing can be done to improve them. Mercedes employees at dealerships can do nothing but agree with me. These are two functions on a vehicle that I use daily, so of course it turns me sour on the entire vehicle. I purchased two new 2018 Mercedes this year to the tune of $150,000 as retirement gifts for my wife and myself. How disappointing! Mercedes used to be top of the line...the cars everyone dreamed about. No longer!

The comfort (sound/quiet) is superior to any car I’ve owned. I am not happy with the electronics as they take a while to get accustomed to and as Edmonds stated, the appleplay is nice but Mercedes steers clear of any touch screen for automotives due to potential liability issues I’m sure. The voice control is not great...lags & cuts off, still trying to figure this one out. The great news is these cars are rock solid and safe! I was hit directly in the side in downtown Dallas drivers side of vehicle with no injuries at 30 mph impact from an F-150 truck. Costly repair at 40k but kept me safe!!

I have personally driven Toyota 4-Runners for 20+ years. I finally decided I wanted something a little more upscale with an emphasis on comfort. It rides like a dream and the ability to select between driving and riding modes is fun and reasonable. I pretty much stay in comfort mode but get inclined at times to switch to sport mode when I want to connect to the road. Apple CarPlay and Surround View Cameras add to the versatility and convenience of this great vehicle. I have an advanced degree (as my wife says “over-educated) I love all the electronic and vehicle gizmo’s and gadgets. They make this vehicle safer, interesting and down right fun. I got mine in Lunar Blue with the two-tone expresso interior. It stands out from the usual black, white and silver ones that represent 80% of the ones I see. At this price point I get the colors I want, not what are in the lot. My wife did the same thing with her red GLK. Bottom line: Could not be happier my last 4-Runner was traded in after 11 years and 225,000 miles. After 5,000 miles I think I might try for another 11 year adventure. I am now 65,000 miles into ownership. Love it. Solid, responsive and comfortable. No issues. It gets a highly recommended rating from me. I just rounded 100,000 miles. Absolutely no problems other than the usual new tires and regular maintenance.

The standard halogen headlights on this vehicle are horrible. very very dim. Toyota corolla come with the new HID/LED headlight system leaving this lux vehicle in the dark. everything else about the vehicle seems great so far.

Needed a "four-season" car, will have to wait what winter will bring since I purchased vehicle in late Spring of 2018. Only complaint I have is the fuzzy navigation system. All in all, Ilike the car and am happy with my purchase. The interior is very nice and comfortable. Would buy it again.

I Have GLE 43 coupe, what a wonderful style, tons of torque. The car has wonderful acceleration. I feel like I have 3 different cars all together in one car, thats because when you put the car on comfort mode it is completely different car than when you put on sport, or sport plus. When you put the car on sport plus it is insane crazy acceleration with great handling. I love it, nothing better than this car. It has great room, everyday use, with amazing beautiful style that catch everyone eyes.

I have had my 2018 GLE 43 for more than a year. It’s been a joy. No problems. The only issue I can come up with this is getting in and out of the car can be difficult, especially if one is oversized.
Good for display. I'm dead serious, display ONLY.

I own a 2018 GLE 43 AMG and it has been a total nightmare for me. This car died multiple times while driving without any kind of warning. Had this happen three times, once in highway and twice in city traffic. On the first occasion, Mercedes said there's nothing wrong with the car and just gave it back to me. Second time, I brought it in (after the shut down on highway), they changed some parts and rebuilt the engine claiming "it's same as brand new engine because it's rebuilt). I wish that was the case, but unfortunately it happened again. Spent 11months at the shop out of 2 years. Car looks beautiful, I would recommend buying this car if you are willing to have it for display only.

After driving Acura MDX and Lexus RX 350 for the last few years, decided to give a MB a try. Feels more comfortable, and quieter inside the cabin. Nav. screen is a lot smaller than Lexus, and I miss the speed limit assistance I was used to with Lexus, which my MB didn’t come with. MB definitely has more power than my previous cars, handles pretty nice, Harmon K stereo is better than Mark Levinson. Still getting used to all the tech stuff so it is too early to judge, overall pretty happy, looked at BMW 5x it had more tech stuff but was way more expensive, with discount MB was about $9k cheaper

Traded minivan in to get safe family hauler for my wife. She loves the commanding view of the road. This Mercedes Benz rides and handles great and is very comfortable for my family. Plenty of space for kids baseball gear and family outings. Mercedes-Benz dealer was excellent to work with and treats you like a honored guest.

Just purchased vehicle, last car was a Porsche Cayenne S. The reason I decided to try an MB AMG was because new Porsches looked like my old one. Looked at Escalade and Dinali (too big), Audi G7 (too ugly) and Jaguar F Pace (too small). I skipped the BMW X5 because my wife drives one.

My 4th Mercedes. Love this car...easy to get used to new features. Have navigation but using Apple Car Play. Last car was a Lexus 350rx and excellent for 7 years.

First of all, my 2018 GLE400 4Matic is not available in the model list so I selected the 43 4Matic. Vehicle is subject to freezing of the positive crankcase ventilation system causing total loss of engine oil. Only warning is "Check engine oil at next fill-up". Happens when driving over 2 hours at OAT of -20°C or colder. Dealer has no fix, and told me my GLE400 was the only one they have ever heard of with this problem. They gave me another one. Same problem. No fix. Mercedes-Benz, the best or nothing. I got nothing! Windshield wipers are useless for cleaning mud or bugs. Water is sprayed along the wiper blade on its upward stroke, not the windshield. Wiper blades simply throw the water off at the top of the stroke. Windshield and front side windows defrost very poor. Requires full fan speed in most conditions. Not good handling on winter roads - WITH very expensive winter tires. Traction control can get very aggressive. GPS shows correct distances (in km), but does not show correct driving times. Not even close. Destination at 1,100 km shows driving time of over 19 hours. Driving speed limit gives about 11.5 hours. The dealer has not been able to fix it. We compared my GPS readouts with 2019 models in the showroom and they were okay. No fix for my GPS.

I love, love, love this model!! I leased the GLE350 after having leased the Glk300 and the ML350. The GLE replaced the ML with a slightly bigger body style. After my 3-yr lease was up and with only 6,000 miles on the car, I decided to buy out the car. It was such a good move as I really love everything about this Model. It is a full size SUV, very roomy in front and back with ample cargo space, yet it drives like a sedan… smooth and relaxing. I love my color combo also… White exterior with a beautiful saddle color leather interior!! I get so many compliments on this car!! Highly recommend it and will purchase it again when the time is right.

This SUV checks all the boxes! Its easy to drive, sporty, and quick to respond to driver demands. As with any German engineered vehicle, it does require proper upkeep and maintenance. Oh, and I love the sound of the V8 biturbo!!

I have owned 3 GLE 350's and decided I wanted to step-up for more power and performance. This car is fabulous...great interior and exterior appointments and great power from this biturbo 6 cylinder. Would definitely buy it again.

I purchased this vehicle used with less than 25k. 2018 GLE AMG 43. Extremely pleased with the vehicle. Only problem was with the Mercedes Me app. But it took one trip to the dealer and it was better. But it still isn’t 100 percent.

I bought my 2018 with 8K miles on it in 2019. MB covered the warranty like I bought it from them and all was great while the vehicle was under warranty. Once the warranty was up the battle began - seriously, who charges for shop towels? - and I was ready to go back to my beloved Lexus. Then I tried an indy foreign car mechanic instead of MB and it’s like a new lease on life. The vehicle runs great, is comfortable on longer trips. Yes, gas mileage could be better, but it’s not terrible. My advice is don’t shy away from MB because of potential repair costs through Mercedes, just find a decent mechanic and enjoy the ride!
