Updated Jan 2020 - After 18 months, like this car better than when we purchased it. Would prefer more headroom (believe a sunroof, which we don't have, provides more). Needs an interior lock/unlock key on passenger side. Long trips - i.e. RTP NC to Pittsburgh round trip - firm ride but comfortable and when you arrive after 9 hours on the road, you are NOT beaten up - very appreciative of that. Gas mileage still good - used oil the first 2-3K miles - since then zero oil consumption. No mechanical issues or electrical/infotainment concerns - knock on wood (which is attractive by the way). Car drives and handles well - both AC and heat are good - esp AC in the South. Would buy a new one (and probably will looking at how sharp the 2021's are...). Original Purchase: Key things: 1. Premium gas (offset by really good gas mileage). 2. Lower height than most SUV's and crossovers 3. Learn how to use the throttle correctly to moderate turbo. We shopped everything - Ford Edge Titanium | BMW X1 and X2 | Volvo XC 40 | Audi Q3 | Subaru Outback | Chevrolet Equinox. Looked for five star safety (US or Europe). Reviews said car was loud. We don't find it any louder than our other cars. Maybe a little quieter. Believe any excess noise due to run-flat tires. Reviews also said car was jerky. It is correct that between 1600 and about 1900 RPM there is some turbo lag to be managed by the driver in automatic mode (i.re. not shifting manually). Brakes are excellent and steering, despite steer by wire, appears to have good feel and is on point. AC fan control is via up and down buttons - would prefer a dial...Apple car play works as it should. There are a lot of customization options available..Front seats are very comfortable - back seats are comfortable for me - 6' tall - much taller and there could be an issue! We did a "test packing" at our dealer - we loaded suitcases with the back seats up and then loaded - with the seat down - we stored 4 standard suitcases, four other cases, two backbacks, a dog crate and some other this and that. Of course, while we are the dealership, we did the same load test in the GLC as well. Got a good end of model year closeout price so very pleased.

Didn't know exactly all that I was getting in purchasing the 2019, but I'm indeed happy with my GLA 250! Aside from the comfortable interior and technology at my fingertips - the ride is smooth and on point! I can easily fit friends in it comfortably for a quick getaway or enjoy my solo ride listening to whatever I like on the radio. It's roomy with enough cargo space to accomodate things. You can't go wrong with the powerful vehicle.

The blind spots on this vehicle are horrible. I have to turn around completely. Very close sometimes to hitting a car. I do not like the car because of this.

Had it a month and it's a pleasure to drive every time I go out. Easy to use infotainment system and dashboard controls, decent gas mileage, SOOOO fast, corners like a dream, and has some wonderful features that I'm still discovering. Only cons are lack of storage space, headroom due to panoramic sunroof, and blind spots galore. If you can't turn your head to look to the side or behind you when reversing, don't even look at this vehicle. My blind spot monitoring and backup camera have come in VERY handy. Handling is closer to that of a sports car than an SUV. Would buy it again without hesitation!

Loving my GLA 250 4MATIC

I recently purchased my 2018 GLA 4MATIC after having a hard top Miata for a few years. I LOVED my Miata but it was time for a more luxurious ride. I first looked at the Volvo XC40 and while I really liked the car, there was a huge blind spot and none of the dealers within a 100 mile radius had any in stock and I would have to order one and wait until the new year for it to arrive. No instant gratification there! Then I started to consider the GLA, the Audi Q3 and the BMW 1 & 3. I test drove the GLA and really liked it but thought I'd look at the other brands before purchasing. The Audi didn't have Apple Car Play and that was a deal breaker. And I have never liked BMWs (I know I'm weird) so after looking at them in Palo Alto, I crossed them off my list without a test drive. (I sat in both the 1 & 3 and didn't like the interior on either - both felt cheap and cramped.) I decided on the GLA 250 4MATIC and I've had it for a month. I really like the way it drives and handles. I like a car to go and pick up quickly, so I was concerned it wouldn't be zippy enough, but that isn't an issue. The front is very comfy and I love the support the seats offer as well as the layout. The tech systems was very easy and intuitive and I'm not a techie so I was worried about that, but again, not an issue. I'm short and the head room isn't the greatest but I have the first seat position button set to very low and the second button set to where I drive, so entering and exiting isn't an issue. The back seat is small and I wouldn't want to sit there, but I don't have to, and I rarely have passengers in the back. As for the cargo space, don't buy this car if you're looking to haul big or large items - it's not built or meant for that. I love this car and it fits my lifestyle perfectly - beautiful exterior and interior, great ride, great pick up, and I think it handles great. Also, the dealer experience at MB surpassed all the others except Audi - they were very good as well. Bottom line, I'd totally buy this car again.

Love this car. Four 6 footers can fit comfortably even with the panorama roof. If anyone is over 6 foot there might be negotiation on the front seat position... Trunk space is small but useful - make sure it will work for you. Torquey and fuel efficient 4 cylinder pulls so smoothly from any speed. The double clutch transmission is amazing - very fast and smooth shifting. You can pull the paddles at any time to get the gear you need but mostly it does it all itself in any of the driver modes that you choose - from comfort to sport to off road. Lovely powerful progressive brakes. Would be really great fun to drive except that steering is typical electric with zero feel. Solid build is very reassuring indeed. Ride is a bit sharpish around town but excellent at speed.

This vehicle is very comfortable to drive. Even in cold weather, the heating system keeps the vehicle comfortable. After about 1500 miles, I have had no trouble with it at all. The styling of the exterior makes me smile. It is a cute, stylish SUV. After 7800 miles I continue to enjoy this vehicle. The Apple CarPlay deserves mention. It makes finding where you are going relatively easy since there is a clear map with verbal directions as well as directions pictured on the GPS map. I ordered all of the safety features available. The car has stopped itself to prevent getting too close to the vehicle in front of my vehicle. The vehicle provides an audible signal and a visible warning to warn me not to change lanes. This is especially helpful when driving on a dark road. When my back was not feeling fine for a day or two, the supportive seats were helpful. In short, I like the style, comfort, and practicality of the vehicle. Update: Now that I have about 26,000 miles, I continue to enjoy having the vehicle. All of the things I wrote about the car above remain my feelings about the vehicle. I have two cars. When it cane time to replace my other car, I bought another Mercedes Benz (a convertible). Even though Mercedes cars are not cheap, I believe they are worth the money because they provide a feeling of enhanced safety, comfort, and happiness. Update: At 30,000 miles, what I wrote about the vehicle remains true. It has chugged along very nicely as it took care of the important tasks of taking me back and forth to work, to get healthcare, to visit family, and to shop for food during the pandemic. When I bought the vehicle. I did not expect the healthcare I would need or a pandemic. But the vehicle has handled these challenges very well. With about 32,000 miles on it, the vehicle is still a joy to own and drive. Now I use it as a backup to my daily driver — another Mercedes Benz. I do not work for Mercedes. But this is how I feel.

Well Balanced Luxury SUV

I bought a used CPO 2018 GLA 250 AWD. I had a new Hyundai Kona which I mostly loved but wanted more luxury. I use the GLA for work at 600-800 miles per week for sales work and just finished a 5025 mile road trip to Florida. For the road trip my mileage was 30.5mpg and never varied much. For work I get 28 mpg which is about 2/3rds hwy. The main positives are it is quick well modulated acceleration, effective distinct drive modes to choose from, good gas efficiency and the ride is nearly perfect to me. It’s not super stiff like many sporty cars are and the sound insulation is good for a vehicle this size and price. I like little things like the automatic rear lift gate and keyless touch entry. I feel the seat space both front and back is good. I took my parents out to eat and my stepmom says she usually hates back seats but was comfortable in the GLA. I recommend you get one with blind spot monitor as the side mirrors leave a large blind spot. I also recommend the Apple Car Play which is indispensable to me. I also enjoy the lower roof line for easily throwing kayaks and paddle boards on top. I got mine without the panorama sun roof which makes the ceiling higher and the ride quieter. Last, the A/C cools the car super quick and heat works great, as well. I recommend the all-weather matts if you live in a place like Colorado. The negatives: The USB ports are in the center console which is idiotic to me. There are no recesses to let the cords hang out so you sort of crush the cords over time. Silly error. There are no USB ports in the rear, either. To get all the tech you have to buy several different packages. I also found the front seats to be a bit uncomfortable on the long road trips. I am thinking of getting a gel pad. The rear storage is not great but I rarely need much and for this subcompact size I’d rate it neutral. The final negative for me has been MB dealerships who make maintenance costs extremely high. I just paid $933.00 for a B (even year) service. Another dealer charged $550 and an independent was just $359.00. Just watch out and don’t take the salesman’s word (I asked when I bought the car). The car also runs on premium but is offset with good mileage. Insurance is a bit higher than others, too. In summary, I love the car for comfort, performance and appearance. I am not as jazzed about cost of operation nor Mercedes dealerships who seem to take every opportunity to empty your wallet. However, I do not factor that in to my rating for the car itself which is a nicely engineered piece of work.

Loving my GLA!

As an empty nester and obiviously going through mid life crisis - I thought that I would treat myself to a luxury vehicle. I've looked at the Lexus, BMW, Acura, and Benz. After reiviewing online extensively and seeing the GLA while out and about - I knew I had to proceed with the GLA. I view it as a crossover, but it's still considered and SUV. The comfort and luxury are definitely worth it. It drives smooth; but you have the choice on what mode you'd like to drive it in. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than driving while listening to my favorite tunes with the moonroof open. Not many European vehicles have the gas tank on the right, but this one does. It handles well in all seasons. It's a small yet mighty SUV with a powerful punch!

Major electrical issues

Major electrical issues - I owned my 2019 GLA 250/ for 3 years and it had major electrical issues the entire time. Once the steering column just stopped working and was electrical. Multiple times the display would just go gray today I'm having the vehicle towed because the electrical system wont turn off with the engine. I leased this car and im incredibly disapointed. I would be mad as hell if i had bought it.

I love the way this car looks, I think it’s really the prettiest car on the road. Mine is midnight blue with white leather interior and it makes me smile every time I see it! I paid way more than the regular MSRP, I probably should have bargained a bit on the price but I was so excited about the car I didn’t bother. It has all the bells and whistles, very fun car and I feel incredibly safe in this thing. I feel like it knows when I want to turn, the handelling is almost intuitive it’s so smooth. It feels like it floats instead of drives and I would say it is way quieter than any car I have ever driven aside from a Prius. It took me a while to get used to the shifter, I kept using this instrument to signal instead of shift. Of course nothing happens when I do that, it’s all safe, just frustrating to get used to a shifter like this. It does have a few dash board rattles occasionally, not great for a car this expensive. But it’s usually only on rough pavement. It’s a lot smaller than it looks on the inside. Coming from driving a true mid sized suv this feels like a sedan. I leased it in case I would feel it’s too small for my daily needs, but really my only complaint is that I may want to get the AMG as I love speed and though this car is faster than any other 4 cycle coming from my previous car that was 264 hp this feels slow. Sport mode definitely helps a lot though and when I’m not feeling thrifty about gas consumption this definitely gives it a big boost!! My butt gets a little numb on long drives so I bought a gel cushion and that is definitely the way to go! Over all I give it 4 stars. For five it would need to be a little bigger (more head room), a little faster, and more padding on the seats. Everything else is pretty great, I’m very happy with it.

GLA 250 4Matic

I've owned this car for a little less than 1,000 miles. In that time, I've grown to really like the vehicle. There are many really good aspects to this car... the standard blind spot monitoring, forward collision prevention and power lift gate. The panoramic roof, sporty acceleration, upgraded sound system, key-less entry and key-less go really make it a fun car to drive and own. The big down side for me is the fact that the suspension seems to be rough over certain types of uneven pavement. In addition the wind and road noise at higher speeds could have been better tamped down. Those aspects prevent me from loving this car. Overall I'm satisfied with the purchase. Lots of fun to drive and own. It offers great utility with nice ground clearance and a respectable boot. I am averaging about 27.5 mpg overall.

This is what you do when flooring the go pedal on a 2018 Mercedes Benz AMG 45 not to mention holding on to your hat. this is the fastest 4 cylinder on the road. It is great to drive and very responsive to the pedal. No waiting for turbo build up. on the freeway to San Diego I opened it up. When I reached 100mph this car still had more to go and at that speed you feel connected to the road. The stock seats are nothing to write home about. My driver seat although adjustable is just not that comfortable especially on long trips. The car is a looker especially with the air wing. I have already made up my mind that when it comes time for a new car it will be a MERCEDES BENZ.

I have had small 2door VW's for most of my adult life, but always wanted more luxury. The stars aligned, and I was able to make the move to Mercedes. I love the tech, the looks, and comfort. Mileage is not as good as I'd hoped, but I'm still under 1000 miles. Horsepower was important to me, and 208 works, even going uphill. I love driving my GLA! I thoroughly enjoyed my 19 months with my GLA. The dealer was always helpful when I had questions. I just need a step up to AMG.

Love the Car Play, the lighting package, the panoramic roof, the interior appointments, the great cruise control (better controls than any other make), the blind spot warning, comfortable seats (heated in front), etc. It is a good car, feels luxurious. The AWD is a great thing to have too.

I love everything about my car but I've had a Range Rover prior to this car and l miss the room I had when traveling or small golf trip with friends like golf or just a night on the town.

It's really fast just under lightning 0 to 60 is 6.2 secs with sport mode little bit body roll one time I accidentally opened the door while driving the car brakes aggressively and beeped all windows are automatic its at 58k miles I've hadn't had a problem sounds good but it's really quiet also good feature but when dogs are left in a car they honk the horn when the car is off you can't lock it gets you to point to point b comfortable and normal
