This car is completely and utterly a beauty. I have never loved driving a car sooo much. It handles like a dream and when you want it to go, it goes. And it does it very very fast!

Have owned this car nearly 9 years, 150k miles. Just had to replace distributor assembly, first big repair in more than 5 years. Only other one was valve cover gaskets. No intention of selling; will keep until it dies. This is one of very few cars of this type that I can fit in and drive comfortably [6'4"]. Best combination of fun drive, comfort, cost of any car i have ever owned.

The Mazda MX6 is a great car both in looks and performance. It looks as sporty and cool as any new car on the road and doesn't look dated. In addition, it has good connection with the road and makes you feel like driving forever once you are behind the wheel. I took it on a cross-country trip and it was a total dream! If you can find one of these, buy it! You'll feel like a star.

I purchased this car new (loaded) in 94 and have been very pleased with the performance and reliability of the car. I have never spent much on the car except for a leak with the water pump which caused the electric control box to short out, it was a $500 repair. I plan on keeping it another 3 or 4 years.

I had dreamed of getting this car long before I purchased it. I was attracted by its looks, and was pleasantly surprised by its performance and reliability. After reading several other reviews, I realize was lucky that I didn't have the leaky A/C or peeling paint problems that other owners had. The extent of my maintenance obligations were an oil change every 3K miles. I did have to replace the CV boots, but luckily, I only paid for that once since the first replacement was under warranty. Unfortunately, she was totaled when she got T-boned in the spring of '03. She gave her life for mine*sniff, sniff* as I walked away unscathed. I haven't owned a car with such classic style since. MX-6s rule!

This was my first car, and I absolutely loved it!. Never had any mechanical problems. Excellent gas mileage. Light and quick and amazing handing. The only car I never had any problems with. I had put 18 in falcon hanabi rims with low profile tires that matched the interior and the trim.

Bought this car new in Aug of '94. I've always been impressed by the performance of this car considering it only has 118 HP. With 120,000 miles on it, it shows no sign of letting up. Besides a few interior noises and an external AC compressor noise, the car has held up well. The only repairs I've had to have were both CV joints ($240 total), a clutch ($250) at 110,000 miles, trunk lifts ($50), a tune up ($120), and I had the timing belt changed at 80,000 miles ($300). Only this after 8 years of City stop and go driving.

Car runs very well, but is a little small in the back seat. The sun roof is great and the car is really fun to drive. Needs some minor repairs, body is good. Heater does not work.

What a great car...80% of the money I've dumped into this car has been upgrades (performance and aesthetic modifications) and the only repairs I "HAD" to make were a torn CV boot and a timing belt job when I bought the car as well as the infamous failing distributor ($100) Everything else has been voluntary tune-up and modification jobs.

It is an extremely reliable car (have made several cross-country trips in it), and it performs as if it has a few more cylinders than it actually does... if you're thinkin' about gettin' an MX- 6, I would strongly encourage ya.. you won't regret it! :~)

I had this car for 9 years and still love driving it. Great performance and super reliable and 27 miles per gallon for a V6 is damn good. The only problem was coil went out at 60K miles and no problems after that.

I bought my MX-6 used and was really impressed with the fit and finish, the feel of the drive, and the overall look of the car. I don't know if it's the simple gold (no pinstripes) paint, but I received many compliments on the care and I think it looks a lot nicer than some others I've seen. It's older 162K, flatter (no garage, paint failing), and perhaps on its way out, but if I had a garage to keep it in, I'd consider restoring this car and keeping it forever.

This is my first car, and it has gotten me through my first year of college back and forth 20 miles each way 5 days a week. It is really reliable, it's quick and light, and very fun to drive. For it being a '94 it still has that up to date look. Mazda really did well with this model.

This car has been a lot of fun. Fast, handles nice, looks great. However, it has had some things go wrong for only 51K miles. The major things were CV joints were replaced, and a gasket blew causing a $1400 bill. The clearcoat on the paint is completely shot, but the AZ sun is pretty tough on paint. Also, the power antenna broke. However, all the other power accessories still work.

I've had my car for 4 years and I haven't had any problems. I did have to replace the exhaust system this year (rusted out). That was the only rust on the vehicle. This is a very depandable vehicle. It's a small sports car car, so leg room for someone 6 feet or taller may be an issue. I just moved to the MD/DC area and I am now driving it about 100 miles/day and my MX6 is holding up great. the engine is quiet and smooth and travels up to 90 mph with no problems. No leaks, no overhauls. I plan to repaint it and drive for another 130,000 miles.

I have had an excellent experience with my car. A couple months after I got it I was hit hard on the driver's side and I was not hurt. The car protected me like it was supposed to. I feel safe in it and very comfortable. People are always surprised when I tell them how old it is, and I owe the newness to the excellent paint quality by Mazda. Though it was rated average for reliability I have not had any major problems with my car, knock on wood.

I absolutly love my ride, shes my baby! I bought her used at 115,000km. So far Ive only had very minor repairs, just recently Ive replaced the front pipe, of the exhaust system (because previous owner repaired it with a noisy non- original peice). When ever shes not feeling well I bring her to the dealership.I know that my A/C compressor is going soon. My paints clear coat is peeling off, but the paint still looks gooooood! No rust!

Bought new, LS w/spoiler, sunroof/deflector, gold pkg, red w/black leather int. '96: Mazda repainted after some coaxing. '97: car QUIT COLD at 80mph on highway, got to shoulder; in an hour was OK. We had used low-octane gas; never made that mistake again! Repaired trunk lifts, antennae motor, timing chain, CV joints; 2nd paint job 2 mos. ago, repeated rearview mirror fall-offs, fixed funky headlights w/Bright Solution. Many happy trips, has only 76k mi on it now. My husband's ready for his 4th car since '94; mine's a keeper. Can't believe it's worth only $4000 as trade in, & thinking about losing it makes me cry, so we'll keep it till it dies!

I've bought this 1994 Mazda MX6 because I like the looks and the performance of the car. I had it for over 3 years now. This car is about 8 yrs old, I still have any problem with. No major internal or external problems at all. Maybe because the owner before me took a good care of it and I also taking a good care of my car. I love this car so much. I plan to keep it for maybe 2-4 yrs.

1996. All the spark plugs went bad while the car was new. Mazda made me replace them 1 by 1. 1997. Recalled switch failed on me while I was on the highway in the early evening- dashboard lights and headlights went out. 1998. Oil pressure valve ($17 part) failed on the highway. Dealer stated must replace engine for $5000, other repair shop replaced camshaft & related parts -$1600. Jan 2001 - Computer ($750 part) went bad. Mar 2002 - 1st gear synchronizer went bad (manual transmission). $1200 to repair using junkyard part. Dealer estimated at least $1900 to fix. 2000. Power antenna froze a year or two ago. ($100 part)2002. Trunk hydraulic hinges no longer hold trunk up. ($112 part)

My MX-6 was a base model 4cyl auto. The tranny went twice once at 86k and again at 108k miles. This car is far from reliable. If you are considering a car in this sport compact catagory check out an integra or cavalier over this car. It was nothing but headaches.

While I love the looks and performance of my car, I have to admit I've spent a lot of money on major repairs. I bought it after 51k miles. Being the second owner, I've had to replace the motor mounts and the whole front axle because the original mounts went bad and lifted my engine up damaging my CV axle! Second, my transmission died twice. The first time, I replaced it with a used one and then after 50k miles I had to pay for an overhaul ($1800). Could it be just plain bad luck? But like a star-crossed fool, I stick with my car because I like the look and the way it handles.

I have an MX-6 1994, I love it - great handling car, great gas mileage. 4 cylinder/16vale. She flies low. Since I have had it, I have not had much trouble with it. It is fun to drive, handles great in the ice and snow. A few minor repairs on it. Sunroof, cloth interior, 5 speed manual trans, quad sound system and I like the alarm system on it. This is my dream car and I love to drive it. Adjustable bucket seats. I still have some work to do on it to restore it back to original, but I am working on that one too. That is my goal - to totally restore this car.
