A little more road noise than I like but was a great alternative to save miles on my SUV. The rear fall down seats allowed me to haul a fairly long items - sometimes it was as much a truck as a car. Despite being the four-cylinder approximately 186 hp and six-speed automatic, I was surprised at its performance. Good acceleration and still got 34 to 36 mph on the highway. My Mazda 6 was the base sport model. Only thinking of selling it because it didn't have features like a heated steering wheel, automatic temperature control with dual zones, and no fog lights. Like the driving feel.

Have owned my M6 since December 2014 and have almost 50K miles on it. Its handling is superb,gas mileage is decent for a midsize sedan(28-30 town and 34-35 highway) and has been reliable other than for false tire pressure alarms about every 4-5000 miles. Road noise has been a major disappointment as others have reported. Driver seat comfort is also a problem for me on longer trips despite power lumbar support. Vehicle reliability and gas mileage are most important to me and its fun handling is a great bonus. A good choice in 2014! At 70K the 6 continues to be reliable and fuel efficient with a recent 800mile trip delivering 37mpg. A great choice in 2014.

The car looks good ,but the metal used on the body is so light it dents and dings up easily. And has so much road noise inside during normal operation you have to turn up the radio to drown it out. I've owned cars having a standard transmission and don't ride the clutch pedal and can shift without using the clutch most of the time ,also replaced some clutches , overhauled to replace bearings myself also . Bought this car used from my brother who also drives a lot of standard trans. The car did not show any warning signs of a clutch going out -no hints; like smell ,sound ,or shifting problems . One day i drove it two miles from the house to a friends place, came out hours later to drive home and car would not go above 2mph in any gear . I bought this car because of the factory warranty still on it . Called 1-800-mazda-getlost . [they say a clutch is a wear item ,just like the brake shoes are and it is not covered .] I can understand that wear item part , but the car is just three years old and clutch should not be worn out and should of at least lasted 60,000 miles like their powertrain warranty . Of course the dealer in town does not have the clutch pack in town and will have to have it shipped up , or i could get it sooner if i pay 2nd day air freight ! I told them; its not tying up my shop , i can wait till it arrives . I have my old reliable car still ,which has 78,000 miles on it's clutch - i'll just drive that until you get the parts in to fix this mazda . They now replied back saying they'd cover the freight ,lol! The cost is about $400 - $500 more in alaska than down in the states for the same repair at any of mazda's authorized dealers shops . Mazda would not help lower price in any way due to the excuse they use ( everybody has different driving characteristics , so they have to decline and the car is out of 12,000 mile warranty for the clutch] . I've researched online after this problem arose, and found i'm not the only one with this same problem with this model of car with the same excuse used and shared that information with Mazda . Others have purchased this model new from a dealer and had to replace the clutch twice before reaching 10,000 miles on it- saying the parts had a defect and they had to be sent to the manufacture . Which is covered under their warranty ,but after that you get the run around excuse next time . Mazda knows they have a poorly built clutch including the [ dual mass flywheel ] they stuck with it , that should of never been put in this car . They will not admit it - and sticks it to the poor consumer. I told them i would join the other fellow owners online that are tired of this premature clutch failure and i will sell this car before it happens again . Looked around for a racing aftermarket flywheel and clutch which would hold up longer than this poor design -so far, still no options yet on the market that i've found yet . Looks as if only California owners are included in a class action lawsuit against Mazda pertaining to this matter currently .
