Sportcross
Just bought a black on black Sportcross and I am really enjoying it. Handles and brakes better than anything else with this much cargo flexibility (bar none). All it needs is a low pressure turbo or supercharger and it would run with an M3.
This is the enthusiast's pick
For 2002, Lexus offers a 5-speed manual option to the IS300 model. I jumped at the opportunity to drive one, and I was sold in a heartbeat. The firmer suspension tuning on this model as well as the crisp shifting action of the manual truly make this the enthusiast's choice for a great sport sedan. I opted for the leather/ecsaine interior trim package, which really helps keep you in place while making turns. The seats themselves are top-notch to begin with, even for tall drivers (I'm 6'02"). The acceleration is just as smooth as the braking and cornering. The auto-leveling standard xenon headlamps are a nice touch too.

More Fun for the Dollar
Great looks; smooth reving and torquey engine with world class tranny and brakes. Seats are comfortable; Sportcross gives the hatchback appeal and functionality of some of the Euro cars: BMW; Audi et al. Steering is highly responsive and tracks on center; it talks to you; you know where you are in the curves when driving at 8/10ths or better. R&T ran this car thru the cones @ 65mph and .91g on the skidpad:'nuff said about handling. Great car
2001 IS300
Excellent value for the money. Transmission electronics and shifter design need improvement. 5-speed manual should be offered on the SportCross. Cheaper IS200 should be brought here from overseas market.
Fun and useful
This car is just fun to drive. The extra space in the sport x version makes it useful as well.
owner for almost a year
The car is everything what I expected but, too many recalls and there is a noise coming from the front suspension that is very annoying will mention the in my 15k service!
NICE CAR
WHAT A GREAT CAR
lexus is
this car is awsome
The right car for me
I looked long and hard for a car. thought about the acura rsx - was too small. thought about a bmw - i'm sick of bmw's, so i decided on the lexus is. i like it alot. it's a pleasure on the highway. only complaint - it's a bit of a gas guzzler, and the rear seats don't fold down, make storage small. but i'd buy/lease it again if i had to do it over...
Great
Owned since 2005. Roughly 200,000 miles on the car now and the only thing to wear out is 1 oxygen sensor. Around 2017 the dashboard material began to rub off, IS owners call this "sticky dash syndrome." On bad roads the factory rims may crack, so make sure you know a good alloy wheel welder.

sporty machine
very sporty but not luxurious can do with more elegance and class, like BMWs and Audis and Benzs
great fun car but not a BMW
I had this car for 1 week, my wife and I love driving it, we also own BMW 5 series, it is definitly not a BMW, but different kind of fun car to drive around. It is a good experience for us, much better than any Toyota cars around.
won't tolerate bumps
where I live, roads are bad, i've bent 1 rim from a pothole, wheels wear out very quickly, car dynamics are excellent
Should have kept my Audi
If all cars drove as poorly as mine we'd all take public transportation. The dealership, when they can be bothered to return my calls, tells me its normal for a Lexus to have an extreme amount of vibration in the steeringwheel, even on the smoothest roads you can find in southern California.
IS 300
reliability is a plus, i am not too much sold on the looks but it is alright
Civic IS
my car looks like all the Hondas with altezza tail lamps, I don't feel special any more damn
SportCross
I am 6'6" tall though lean, so keep this in mind when I make my comments. First, the car is not a BMW, does not have anywhere near the handling (typical sloppy plowing turning characteristics). Crummy Perrelli (sp?) tires. Poor mileage. Quality issues too.
Is300
I've had my IS300 for about a year. There seems to be a problem with steering the car on wet roads and uneven surfices. In fact at times I'm even afraid t drive it. Also you cn smell the exhust of the car in front of you while waiting at lights.I don't recommend th car to new drivers. Good luck
IS 300
not for grown adults, too tight in the back, small trunk space is very inconvenient
IS 300
what would you say to a 30k car that needs a manual prop for the hood and drives like a honda?
my IS
disappointing...the looks of the car grew real tired in a matter of months, should've gotten' the Xterra
IS
for those that like tacky sporty looks will definitely find this ride very appealing and nice
