The best car in the world.
I purchased this car in 1997, since then, I've never spent a penny on repairing except tires and oil/coolent change. Although the upfront cost for a Lexus is a bit pricy, you can make it back in the long run. Many people think that Lexus is a bigger Camry, they're WRONG!!! I had a Camry V6 XLE, it was a good car, but Lexus owners can tell the difference. The average maintenane cost is no higher than a Camry.
Lexus is the best!
Sold on Lexus, have an LS 430 and love it so bought a 97 ES 300 for my daughters to drive. Love the classy look, safety, reliabilty and feel of a Lexus. It will spoil you forever. The V-6 has tons of power. Comfortable seats with nice quality leather. Very quiet and smooth. Get compliments on the white/tan appearance, looks like a new car. Trust this car to get my daughters home, enough said.

Not too bad of a choice for the money.
Well... When I bought it four years ago I thought it was a perfect car, and it is close to that. However, I had to change rear bushings, fix brakes, change timing belt, rotors, window motor went down (when driving on highway), stabilizers had to be changed, wheel bearings had to be changed, exhaust, the heater on driver's seat stopped working right before last winter. So... this car always took me from point A to point B with comfort, but it's not as perfect as it may seem to be. Lexus is reliable, but far from perfect. The best car I had so far was Civic (but again, it was practically new).
Perfect... Even after the Crash
The car was orig. bought at 115k in 04' by a relative. She totaled it out this winter. I bought it from her, and put work into it myself. The car looks brand new now. (only cost me $550 in parts) Even after the crash this car drives like new! It's fast enough to get up and go. The gas mileage is great! It's comfortable to drive. It's been on numerous 8 hour road trips. I love Lexus. I have owned a Sc400, Ls400, 96 ES, and I have a RX300. I love Lexus! No wonder they are the TOP Luxury Car company in America! BTW nite and day difference from the 96' and below ES.
Runs like new at 120K
I bought the 97 lexus ES 300 with 120,000 miles on it. I was a little afraid of buying a car with so many miles, but after driving it for a week, I couldn't be happier. Its hard to believe, but the car runs like new. Previous owner garaged it. Today a guy actually asked me if it is a brand new car! It runs extremely smooth. I just came back from a 800 mile trip and it averaged 28.4 miles/gal.
